I agree with all of this. Please stay strong, and please do not let her emotionally manipulate you to keep constant access to your wallet. Some of life's most important lessons are learned when you have made your bed and are forced to lie in. Be supportive and loving, but don't be a doormat. She will respect you all the more for it in the end.

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
AgentRXS replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
I've had social anxiety since childhood and have gotten panic attacks in large crowds. This has only intensified since mass shootings have become more prevalent. I've never gone to a NYE bash at a club or event, and never plan to. My family is small with no small children in it so Christmas is a casual gathering. My peeve is when I tell people I don't celebrate like them, they say "Awww" as if I am to be pitied. I enjoy my own company (and the cats, of course). I am prefer a book or movie to socializing any day of the week. I tried joining social groups at church (blech) in my mid-20s and all I end up doing is blending into the background and being ignored, so I'd rather not bother. I can purchase what I want if I want it, I don't need people buying me gifts nor do I want the hassle of feeling obligated to buy for others (my dad won't accept gifts and my sister and I don't exchange gifts as we have the same attitude about Christmas). I hate when people feel sorry for me because I don't have many friends or don't participate in huge gatherings. That kind of life isn't for everyone and isn't meant for my life, and its okay by me. -
I could understand this if a woman is in her mid-to-late 20s, but I can't believe a rich woman in her mid-30s is tolerating this shit. She should be dating a hot little boytoy or gaining enough self-respect to realize she doesn't need him for shit. A sperm donor is better than letting yourself get punked out regularly. SMH Hell, True already has a half-sibling out there, so its not like she needs to keep him to ensure all her siblings have the same father. I just can't fathom wasting my time the way she is.

Kim Kardashian Thomas Humphries West
AgentRXS replied to Lisin's topic in Keeping Up With The Kardashians
I admit, I am coming from poor experiences with narcissists. I do hope that it won't be the case, but I've known parents who were the sweetest and most gentle mothers with their girls when they were infants and girls, but began to view them as threats once they hit puberty, especially when the girl resembled a younger version of her mother. It happened to my middle school best friend and it put her through hell. I fear for Chicago in that regard. -

Which is why I see Kim resenting the hell out of her when she comes of age. Chi is what Kim is spending thousands of dollars to emulate. I would just love it it if she grows up naturally curvy with a naturally thick ass just to stick it to Kim off even more. And I really hope True and Chicago remain close despite whatever outsiders say. I just see North and Kim making Chicago's life hell as she ages. Kim is ok with her girls now, but I don't see her accepting aging well and I totally see her going the "Mommie Dearest" route. YMMV -
At first, I wasn't sure that it was Khloe, but then I saw that she posted a pic on her page wearing the very same outfit. This maybe the most pathetic thing I've ever seen and I watched Britney and Kevin: Chaotic back and Being Bobby Brown back in the day. How embarrassing. Why stay with a man that clearly has very little interest in you?
-
I was just coming to post about how much I love how unproblematic Britney is. She never gets involved with industry beefs, never lowered herself to bash Justin or Kevin to sell records. "Everytime" is a beautiful, cathartic breakup song and her "Boys will be boys" response to "Cry Me a River" was perfect. She could have exploited their relationship and contributed to the beef to sell records but didn't bother. She went through her breakdown and didn't come back with a woe-is-me attitude. Her sound evolves, but she doesn't attempt to change identities every 5 minutes (like Christina). I admire her ability to bounce back and plow through the shit in her life. Yes, she is medicated and she isn't a great performer anymore, but so what? She's doing her and she is a lowkey legend at this point. She deserves just as much credit as Madonna and Janet for pushing the envelope on displaying feminine sexuality. I love that she never apologized and never regretted it.

I feel sorry for True, as she is so close in age to Chicago, who has to be one of the most gorgeous babies I've ever seen, and will likely grow up to be an absolute knockout. Not saying that True won't be gorgeous in her own right, but you can already tell Chicago is going to be head and shoulders above the rest her cousins and siblings. Khloe has low self-esteem and is going to pass that along to her daughter who will likely do everything to keep up with Chicago in order to please her mom. Poor thing.

$14 mil for an oceanfront condo that could easily be destroyed by the next major hurricane? Cool story, bro. God, I long for the days of the Jackie Gleason-era of Miami. -
Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
AgentRXS replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
Thank you! My size is the least of my worries at this point as I am battling severe stomach and back issues. I know that realistically I am not healthy enough to exercise to the point of making a major dent in my weight. Its just that when I see my favorite clothes from 6-7 years ago I think "Maybe, someday...." and end up not being able to part with it. I'm really hoping you find something (anything!) soon, and that it is a good fit for you. I'm wishing for a wonderful 2019 for all of us. This year has been total trash. -

My pet peeve is me. Inspired by the conversation going on in the Transitions thread, I cleaned out all my drawers of unnecessary paperwork/clutter, and I plan to do the closets sometime after the new year. My problem is that every time I go through my clothes, I convince myself I can lose the 10 or 20 lbs needed to wear some of the stuff again, knowing damn well I am not. I always end up parting with very little. I know a lot of people struggle with the same issue, but I just annoy the crap out of myself every time I attempt to get started. Wish me luck that this is the year that I finally wake up and smell the roses. -

Last night I heard fireworks for the first time ever on Christmas Eve. Its not enough to limit it to New Years and the 4th. Now we have to have Christmas fireworks. Oh well. Wishing my fellow PTVers(for those of you who celebrate) a Happy Holiday. -
A Case Of The Mondays: Vent Your Work Spleen Here

@GHScorpiosRule So few of us have or ever had healthy work environments, so I am so glad it seems you've won the golden ticket! You worked so hard for it, you deserve it. I love hearing that is possible to have a non-stressful work environment. -

Same thing happened to me in June. My older photo is great. My new one is so terrible that I keep the old one over the new one in my wallet. I cannot stand to look at my new license photo at all. Yes! I hate this. The only time they seem to stop is when I'm behind them. They will sit through minutes of open lanes, and will wait until oncoming traffic is just about to approach and then they will turn, leaving me to sit through the rush of cars. Another case of people attempting to cause an accident to cash out. -

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
AgentRXS replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
I've been avoiding the holiday at all costs. I've been listening to CDs or Pandora to avoid the radio. I've been reading books and watching documentaries or movies to avoid regular TV. I am so glad that Trader Joes was playing regular music instead of holiday music while I shopped today. If someone ever wanted to commit deep psychological torture on me, all they would have to do is play Christmas music on a continuous loop. I would go irrevocably mad within hours. If I never hear it again, it would be too soon. I'm not a fan of Halloween, but I am grateful that it helps keep the Christmas plague at bay. If they could start promoting it in the summer, they would. Its already bad enough when places try that "Christmas in July" bullshit. No, just no. One Christmas season is enough. And now the peeve that has plagued every Floridian since the invention of cars: I really, really wish drivers license were revoked after the age of 80. Just think elderly drivers plus trying to grocery shop a week before Christmas and you can imagine the scenarios I witnessed. Sheesh. -
Nope. I work at one, and for safety reasons, no shelter will take and used open/unsealed food. It will open any shelter to a lawsuit if the food is tainted by some sicko. I'd recommend offering it on a Nextdoor/Freecycle type app.

Another driving peeve: Its 10 days until Christmas and I am so over seeing those stupid antlers snd red noses on cars. I don't know why they are more frequent this year (maybe standing in solidarity with Rudolph?), but they look dumb as hell and I just want to rip them off the car. Bah humbug says this Grinch(ess?). -

So the newest trend in Florida drivers attempting to look for a holiday payday: Randomly stopping short in the middle of the intersection during a green light. I can't tell you how many times in the past 2 weeks that I've been behind a car slamming on their brakes to almost a full stop just as we pass through the light. It happens in my work truck and personal car. I hate people. -
Kanye West: The Most Intelligent Celebrity

Kanye is in the middle of a Twitter meltdown/manic episode if anyone cares...He's trying to take shots at Drake, I guess, but Drake's rightfully ignoring him. -
If the Conners doesn't come back, someone needs to offer Katey and John a show together. They had great chemistry. She is probably way too hot for Dan, but then she was way too hot for Ed O'Neill's Al Bundy, so meh. I'm glad they are taking the realistic/high road approach and not have Dan immediately start dating again. He would never move on from Roseanne Conner that fast. The show could have easily had him move on with the way hotter Katey like it was nothing. Goes to show that Sarah still respects the character/legacy of Roseanne Conner. Darlene and Becky's relationships are very much like their mother and aunts was, even though they are less co-dependent. You can feel the love even though they can be pretty brutal when they get upset with each other.

It tickles me how both Bush men were so smitten with Michelle. I love the friendliness between the Bushes, Clintons, and Obamas. I also thought it was so sweet that the Carters showed up and seemed to stay in their own little world. -

I'm tired of reading the various headlines lately about how olden songs/cartoons are considered "offensive" to people. More specifically,Rudolph. First, I don't believe that many people are offended and the article is clearly clickbait and is designed to get commenters riled up. Second, modern hip hop is so sexually explicit that it makes Erotica-era Madonna look like a nun. Why aren't people making a fuss over that? Third, if you don't like something, don't watch or listen to it. I find Christmas as a whole offensive so I do my best to avoid everything about the holiday. Its really easy to ignore something you don't like. -
Me too! I am hoping they change the credits in season 2. The other thing I noticed about the credits is that Jackie looks like she is grabbing a tub of Earth Balance butter, which is the one I use. I always wonder how she convinced Dan and Roseanne to try to use vegan butter (or maybe it was Darlene's idea?). I hate Jackie's storyline. If I were Jackie, and realized that single Lanford men were basically trash, I would be expanding my horizons. Jackie has Facebook, why not Tinder or OKCupid? There has to be better available men in her age group, and she looks great for her age. Jackie has never been afraid of trying new things, I would have thought that she would've been the first to jump into online dating, way back in the chatroom days. Jackie's storyline brings me back to the one nitpick I consistently have with this show: Since Sarah Gilbert's is the EP, its annoying that Darlene is the only one that gets to win. Jackie gets saddled with another shitty boyfriend, Becky gets knocked up by someone in a similar or worse position then her. Darlene got two jobs in a still-economically depressed town. She was able to walk out of one job with basically no repercussions. In the same town that available men are hard to come by, she found not 1, but 2, decent guys to date and her ex is still somewhat in love with her. Darlene just seems to have such incredible luck.
