  1. She could be doing theater. IMDb doesn't list that.
  2. GREAT episode, even if it was predictable (Janine returning to Abbott, Questlove showing up). Loved "The Bear" spoof opening.
  3. Also, doesn't drowning often happen very quietly? No dramatic thrashing and yelling, as there was with Mae.
  4. He could be off playing Freddy in a revival of My Fair Lady and singing "On the Street Where You Live."
  5. Just Ryan standing onstage would be enough for me.
  6. It occurred to me that Janine would only be Alex's teacher for one year. I have a hunch they'll figure out a way for her to combine jobs.
  7. I think Jamal's immaturity really showed by his cozying up with Luisa. His recent ex is right there -- he should just get Luisa's number and call her after the show. ON THE OTHER HAND, it just reeks of set-up. Veronica just happens to head for the bathroom at the same time J & L are talking about their supposed hookup -- which also sounded scripted.
  8. I often think that he probably played Freddy in a production of My Fair Lady sometime. I can see him singing "On the Street Where You Live."
  9. I thought "Pilates" was very funny. And I liked the bad news sketch. Aside from that, I though it was good energy that carried the show. I have a new template for next season: Pedro Pascale, Ryan Gosling, and dogs. That's all.
  10. Geez, Nicole, maybe Mahmoud was happy to see someone from his culture and to know he wasn't alone there and there might be more. What a bitch.
  11. He's such a miserable person and being around him constantly is going to change that sweet child.
  12. Nothing particularly memorable about this episode, but the energy was good. Marcello's insanely fast movements during the Immigrant Father sketch were really funny. I liked Sara as Flaco's widow. I really just mentally tune out during the trump cold opens. Even though JAJ is really good, it just disturbs me that he's portrayed as quirky and benign. That ain't him.
  13. Can TV finally declare a moratorium on the meet-cute-but-pissed in a parking lot trope?
  14. I like Jamal but someone please tell Luisa she's a very minor player here. Her 15 minutes are over (I hope).
  15. I hope the Tell-All proposal isn't John. I don't like the way his girlfriend pressures him. That said, I can't imagine who else it would be. I do feel empathy for Natalie. I do think she's having what I call "a Javert moment" -- when someone's internal construct of the world that has helped them cope is crashing down. It's hard to shake our learned coping methods. I'd think it stems from her dad abandoning the family. She probably had to be her mom's mini-caretaker at too young an age. Debbie Cagematch? Why the h--l is the original Debbie on the tell-all?
  16. Shocked me that it's not Lily Gadstone.
  17. Cooper's big mistake with Maestro was not including West Side story, which revolutionized musical theater. It was like Bohemian Rhapsody without Queen music.
  18. This has been a good show. Very nicely paced and totally not a chore to sit through. Even though Gosling didn't win.
  19. If the vote had been after that live performance, I bet "I'm Ken" would have won.
  20. RYAN GOSLING STEALS THE SHOW!!!! Swoon. (And I could be his mom.) He's the reason I made it through Barbie.
  21. Bummed that Ryan Gosling didn't win. (Robert Downey was excellent, though.) I didn't mind the guys' introductions -- they were funny and light and sweet and didn't make me cringe like the ladies'.
