  1. I'm guessing that he had already packed up his office for the most part to hand over over to his replacement and that is just where he was storing the last of his stuff that hadn't fit into his car the last run. I don't know what kind of printing they do, but it's not unheard of for printing companies to be pretty secure because they are printing things for campaigns or products that have not been announced or released yet, that might have been the only place they could film in the building by nature of it not being his office.
  2. Do wine bars typically have pineapple juice? Is that not a super weird thing for a wine bar to just have laying around? Also the wine bar serves charcuterie in a cardboard box? Even if they are buying it pre-made, they could at least plate it before serving.
  3. I have been with my husband for 6 years, in this time period we have had exactly zero fights. Disagreement, of course, situations where one of us ends up making a compromise that we aren't thrilled with, of course, but a fight? Never, not once. I find it so weird that so many people think that fighting is just like a normal part of relationships.
  4. Also, I seem remember hearing awhile back that winning an Oscar early in your career can actually make it difficult to establish a career as a steady working actor because SAG dictates how you have to be compensated as Oscar winner and projects that you would be well suited for otherwise just can't afford you.
  5. I had a friend that ran a medium sized non-profit that agreed to and regretted allowing a reality TV show to film at one of their events. The reality TV show had a completely separate area adjacent to the actual even to film in, the event on TV wasn't anything like what it was in person. The whole thing was completely bizarre, they kept doing retakes of the same "fight" and the two people in the fight we just smiling and laughing together between "fighting" takes.
  6. Sorry, I can't get this out of my head now...
  7. Unless I missed something, Carrie said she might sell it the same day, but that never happened? But I had to skip through a lot of this trainwreck, so that very well could have happened.
  8. OK, I only watched bits of pieces, did they ever address Carrie's apartment again or did she just buy it and then the show completely moved on?
  9. Carrie has become very accustomed to the kind of lifestyle a doorman building provides as well as the additional space. Yeah, her old apartment is probably ~fine~, especially by NYC standards, but the series suggests she is very wealthy as a widow, enough that $1M didn't matter much to her, regardless of what younger widows usual have. Also, I'm going to push back on the Carrie's apartment not being her, I think that is completely wrong and probably a plot point. Like Seema said, and it's a cliche but true, buyers want to envision their apartment, not someone else's. That apartment is perfect for her, an huge empty white box with no fixed elements dictating design choices and high ceilings that can make Carrie's likely maximalist choices not be overbearing. By the end of the series I am sure that apartment will look incredibly layered with lots of bold color, High-Low, vintage-modern and look perfectly Carrie. It's a fresh start for Carrie, just like the big white box.
  10. Did anyone else notice that when Carrie slammed the dishwasher shut the entire island shook and all the cabinets were misaligned? I know this is a minor thing and it is obviously a film set, but it is just the inexplicable careless attention to detail everywhere in this show. Someone noticed this and was just like, fuck it, Carrie lives a terribly built apartment.
  11. See, this is one of the weird cultural things that really surprised me as I got older, the best explanation I can come up with is a lot of wealthy people show their status by being referred to frequently by people they view as lower class by honorifics and asking children to do so is suggesting they are of lower social status? I grew up calling pretty much all of my friend's parents by their first names, and while it wasn't a particularly frequent thing, my parents by their first name in certain social settings. I mean, call my father "Dad" at a country club social function? Probably not? Actually, I remember parents requesting their children's friends refer to them as Mr/Mrs being viewed as snottiness that they were absolutely not allowed to pull with their children. One of my best friends in high school was from an extremely well known family, I can say with almost certainty that you know their family name because it is the exact family that you are referring to, not some coincidence, I always knew their mother as basically the equivalent of "Kim". Honest, I'm still kind of shocked by spouses calling their in-laws my Mr & Mrs or Mom & Dad, I was honestly completely surprised by that actually being a thing, which apparently it is. I have never referred to my in-laws as anything but the informal name they go by.
  12. I mean, yes, we are talking about a fictional universe, I'm just stating that it is completely within the believable realm as much as AJLT is tethered to it, that Miranda walked away with millions of dollars and Harry is pulling in 7 figures a year. There is really no context to any of this, when we talk about Carrie "just being a sex columnist" with some other work, Dan Savage has made a very financially lucrative career out of being a sex columnist, Daniel Lavery signed a 2 year $430,000 minimum contact to write a newsletter in large part to his advice column and podcast. My point is, we aren't being asked to suspend that much disbelief her, for all we know Harry and Miranda are working in the S&C universe versions of Skadden Arps and Kirkland Ellis.
  13. That is not how large law firms work, "partner" is not just a fancy title for someone that works in a law firm, it means they have ownership of the law firm. Based on what was shown of Maranda's career, it's highly likely that she didn't just "quit" her job, she walked away with millions of dollars and the understanding that she could return to a high-earning law career at any time. It why you see so many high earning attorneys leave practice for political jobs and becoming judges at, on paper, significant pay cuts. They aren't worried about the money.
  14. A building of that caliber in NYC would almost certainly not allow rentals and on the same note, you can't just rent an apartment of the caliber that Carrie had been accustomed to and move in the next day, her choices were probably stay in her old apartment that she was completely happy with for a few days/weeks while she found a new apartment or stay in an incredibly expensive hotel that wouldn't feel like home. Upper-middle class by NYC standards does not get you on the board of the MET. When Harry first appeared on the show he was described as a highly respected partner at his law firm, by now he is probably pulling down at least $1M a year, perhaps more. I mean, it's all fictional, but yeah, $1M+ is an easy floor to consider him at in this fictional reality, possibly even significantly more depending on any changes in his career. Harry and Charlotte almost certainly wealthy, even by NYC standards. Another NYC thing, you don't just get an art degree and find a job at a significant art gallery in NYC, the job is as much about connections and social status as it is about art knowledge. Charolette almost certainly came from money and the connections associated with it.
  15. Ask any LGBTQ person or anyone that knew them closely as a child, and they knew. This is bullshit, I was just as obviously gay as a young child looking back at videos, pictures and my own memories and my mother's memories as my nephew is now at the same age. I would be carrying around way less mental trauma now if I was just allowed to be gay like my nephew will be. Funny, the only "girl" I was ever attracted to is a trans man and it turns out most of my childhood male friendships ended up coming out later in life.
  16. Would he though? Again, I think that is the point.
  17. I don't think that was the point, it wasn't about if the food was poisoned or not poisoned, it was making the point that if it was, he would offer up his own grandchild, still a young child, as victim before himself.
  18. It's poolside hangout rule no.1 because if it breaks in the pool, the pool has to be drained, cleaned and refilled, which is extremely expensive and time consuming. I doubt Kendall, particularly a very drunk Kendall, gives many f-s about that prospect.
  19. What I find really interesting is this assumption everywhere of what HBO/Writers would or would not do as far as Kendall dying on the show. Jeremy Strong is not obligated to stay on the show, he will definitely find other work, they very much might have not had a choice.
  20. Because men, straight and gay love dick pics and can't get it through their heads that women do not appreciate to the almost universal extent that men do.
  21. I dunno, it just feels like something Kieran would do as a lark if he had plausible deniability that it was really him. I mean they needed a properly cleared and licensed dick pic.
  22. Serious Question: What are the odds that is actually Kieran Culkin's dick? I'm guessing non-zero.
  23. I think Kendall is dead, I noticed that Strong was conspicuously absent from the press buildup for the new season, I thought it was strange at the time that Even Ruck was getting more attention than Strong in the PR push.
  24. Bragging about having 5 figures in her checking account? The fact that she hid the first digit says a lot. Congrats on having a completely normal amount of money for a middle aged woman.
  25. Is your brother gay? That is none of your business, but I am going to answer it anyways because I think you believing he might be gay is worse than just ignoring the question. And for the record, as a gay person, I am not offended if someone asks if I am gay as long as it isn't asked out of malice. I am gay, it is a simple fact about me that I am not ashamed or embarrassed by. And it has come up, my next door neighbor has "outed" us many times, it's just an innocent question by new neighbors wondering if we are are roommates or a couple.
