And let perfection be the enemy of good. But a lot of Black voters that live in Detroit think the Dearborn crowd had plenty of misogynist and anti-Black feelings that clouded their judgement.
-
I’m sorry, but I don’t have a smidgen of sympathy for these voters. None. They’re only upset about Trump going back on his “promises” about Gaza, but they were okay with everyone else he’s screwed over? And they wonder why so many of the Black community have turned on them…

FilmNight: Movies you watched recently
Spartan Girl replied to Rushmoras's topic in Everything Else About Movies
Took my little cousin to see Dog Man. It’s a very self-aware kids movie, and it’s pretty funny. Pete Davidson was pretty good voicing an evil cartoon cat. -

I watched it too. It was dumb but funny, and we all need that right now. -
I’m not sure if this is the thread for this, but I really genuinely want to know what freaking Bizzaro universe people were living in 1999 when Tracy Flick was considered the villain of Election? Hell, today there are still some people that consider her the villain, and I can’t understand why. Granted, Election is one of those movies where almost everybody is a self-serving asshole, but to call Tracy “evil” was a stretch. Uptight? Sure. Obnoxious? Maybe. Entitled? Little bit, but it wasn’t like she didn’t do all the work imaginable to actually earn the title she thought she deserved. But evil? I don’t see it. Yeah, she ripped down those posters in the heat of the moment and she certainly deserved to get booted out of the election for it. But it wasn’t like she forced Tammy to take the fall: Tammy did that all on her own just to go to Catholic school. It sickens me that that some people still consider her some kind of femme fatale, and that the scene of her going to Jim about a “harmonious and productive” working relationship was her trying to come on to him. He certainly seemed to view it that way, but was it? My two cents: she sensed (correctly) that Jim didn’t like her, and was trying to clear the air knowing that they would be working together in the student government. And even if what Dave did to her left her with a warped view of older men, then golly, if Jim was the benevolent mentor to the other students he claimed to be, wasn’t it up to him to establish boundaries and make sure the poor girl got some counseling? That might have been a way easier solution than trying to interfere in the election!

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"

To quote Deadpool and Wolverine, kindness doesn’t cost anything, but shutting the fuck up is also free. -
I work in downtown Lansing and I saw one at the Capitol. Four years ago I’d be cheering them on, but after the election I’m more cynical. Where was this energy when it was time to vote? How many of these protestors actually voted when we needed them to?

Finally watched it on Netflix. The nonlinear narrative was a bit much sometimes, but I was able to keep up for the most part. And it was pretty sad.

F-U, Reboot-Mania: Express Your Hate Here

I didn’t mention Angel or Spike once in my post. And I know perfectly well that Charisma wasn’t the only one Whedon tormented. -
And now he wants to take over Gaza. As I stumble unwillingly across posts from unrepentant “both sides are bad” third party/uncomitted/non voters, I’m reminded strongly of Namaari from Raya and the Last Dragon, who screwed the world over twice, then instead of owning up to her actions and apologizing, passed the buck to Raya saying that she was just as responsible because she didn’t trust her or Sisu enough. Even though Raya did try and Namaari was the one that blew it all to hell by bringing a crossbow, pointing it at Sisu and tightening her finger on the trigger.

Pft. We all know now that Xander was Whedon pet avatar. Otherwise, he would have been killed off years ago. And that shows you the kind of guy Whedon was that he gave him special treatment while making Charisma Carpenter’s life hell all because she got pregnant. Even though the majority of viewers have come to realize Xander was trash, a few of the die hards still love him and would undeniably throw a bitch fit if he’s written out. -

I’d like to believe that, but since so many actors that have gotten in trouble are having “comebacks,” I wouldn’t hold my breath. -
Honestly, I just want the leopards to eat Elon Musk now. Every day I’m reminded that we could have had him and Kamala. Every. Day.

Boy if I had a nickel for an episode where the Smiths changed culture because of their food, and another nickel for every time Stan’s youth came at the expense of Steve, I’d have two pairs of nickels each, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it happened that many times. No, that wasn't really Jason Statham, but it sure sounded like him.

Only two things would get me to see it: 1) Whedon doesn’t see so much of a penny. 2) Xander is killed off. Or written off. I’m not picky. -
Gender On Television: It's Like Feminism Never Happened
Spartan Girl replied to Bastet's topic in Everything Else TV
Interesting video, and it brings to light that moms in TV and movies tend to get automatically idealized no matter what toxic things they do. Yes, being mom is hard, but that’s not a free pass for crappy parenting. There needs to be a middle ground. -
Saw this in the theaters. It was beautiful. Like @Wiendish Fitchsaid it was just so refreshing to watch a documentary about someone who wasn’t an asshole. I’ve avoided CNN like the plague lately but I’m going to rewatch this.

THANK YOU. Seriously, I’m so sick of everyone glossing over that. Yes, what happened to him was a tragedy and I’m sad for his daughter and all the other people that got kills. But him? I don’t get why I’m not watching this. And you know what?everyone’s acting e he was God’s greatest gift to basketball.

From what I’ve seen on Blusky, they’re still blaming everyone but themselves, acting like they’re still so above it all. Poseurs.

I will never understand the mentality of people that consider Trump a “blue collar billionaire” while turning their nose up at Joe “Scranton” Biden as an elitist.
-
Seriously! You’d be more likely to grab a beer with Biden and Harris than with Trump—remember when it was a big to deal see Obama and Biden grab burgers together? Oh, I miss those days…
-
Which was what we have been trying to tell them for months, and nobody listened. Are you fucking kidding me?! Biden wasn’t the one that fired all the FAA or “encouraged” to quit. This is just as idiotic as drawing his marker on the hurricane maps.
