  1. I totally forgot about that show! So cheesy. Kinda like Joan Steffend (sp) on Decorating Cents.
  2. Or replant them out back! They are great along a tall fence. Listed Sisters reminded me of the Discover commercial where the one twin is calling customer service and the call center person is (wait for it) her twin! Awesome-sauce!
  3. I still get LWN in downstate NY - Cablevision. Guessing they are all repeats but still on.
  4. I was so psyched when I saw the Game Show Host episode 2 on Tattletales last night. And then majorly bummed when the next episode was another oft run repeat. Why BUZZR why?
  5. Result: Asian Fusion Truck You’re all about interesting crossover cuisine, and your customers are always ready for something unexpected. Whether you’re doing Southern-inspired Thai or your own take on ramen, there is no shortage of creativity in your truck. Yours is the type of place that has a “no substitutions” sign hanging proudly below the menu to let people know you’ve carefully crafted each of your specialties. Watch The Great Food Truck Race on Sundays at 9|8c.
  6. Aren't there normally more than 6 trucks? Interesting (and cheap) that it's CA road trip race. You'd think they could start up a little higher.
  7. I don't have a side as I don't know any of these people in real life. Last season, I objected to the relentless name calling of one of the participants as well as the constant criticism of the women's looks (while the guys were given passes by the same posters). Then I found the ignore feature of the site and all was well. Oh yea, she showed her hand when she said she wasn't going to interfere. Nick raised his eyebrow.
  8. OK but Sam and Neil crashed and burned spectacularly. Neil rejected Sam on Decision Day. All 3 couples failed and they aired the whole season last year. So is this production person lying or just wrong?
  9. I didn't think it was an unreasonable question. But Nick looked off-put. And I thought it was a reflexive sarcastic remark. If he is truly someone who cannot express himself in the moment, I could see him replying with sarcasm - whether it is warranted or not; whether he does it well or not. Could be a go-to for him.
  10. I took Nick's "I love her" to be sarcasm -- as he thought it was a ridiculous question to be asked of him and felt put on the spot. His response was droll.
  11. Pleasantly surprised with the men so far this season (compared to last year). Tom was very gracious in introducing himself to Lilly's family, how he treated her at the altar, and through out the night. Real chemistry. Glad he found her attractive. Nick, says the right things in the talking heads. Otherwise is fairly mute. Seems like he's going to be really sarcastic. That's not going to be a good match. Derek showed some promise and then, douchy frat boy rooster head started to emerge. Heather soured quickly. Her dress wasn't fitted - wonder if that's why she walked like she was bowlegged.
  12. I loved the character of Fish and enjoyed him interacting with his colleagues, criminals, his family... those "kids" not so much. I'd have enjoyed a Fish spin-off if it didn't feel like Different Strokes meets Facts of Life meets All in the Family. My grandmother loved Card Sharks! I didn't like it then and still don't :) I like the hi-lo card game aspect and later they added a car to it which helped. But the questions... meh. I think on Family Feud and Match Game, they handled survey questions well. Probably because they didn't ask contestants to expound on their own reasons why.
  13. Happy Birthday America drunk bride was on again recently - cringetastic! I also like the low budget bride, 2nd marriage for both, who had her reception in a church hall --- that was across a busy 2 line road in Texas. She served Bar-B-Q from her favorite take-out place. The other brides really weren't thrilled but they all loved the bride so much that they held their tongues. One I hadn't seen before was where the 3 brides decided not to stand in line at the cocktail hour for the food, they go grab drinks and go outside, when they come back, all the food is gone and a waiter brings them a tray of saltines which they shove fistfuls into their mouths.
  14. Agree that The Bob Newhart Show is way better than Newhart. I saw Dr. Hartley in repeats only but watched the Vermont Inn live and never cared for Darryl and Larry etc. Couldn't stand any of the characters except Bob. The wife was bland. Poston was annoying as were the blonde maid and her beau. Watching The Bob Newhart Show again - I feel the same way except for the last 2 seasons where it lost its way. Also didn't care much for Howard Borden back then, care much less for him now. I do appreciate Carol more and my <3 for Emily (and Ms. Pleshette) hasn't wavered Loved Barney Miller when it first ran. Still enjoy it now. My appreciation grew for Dietrich, not so much for Levitt. Always loved Jack Soo, Abe Vigoda, Hal Linden the most. Hated the spin-off of Fish. Ones I never saw the first time around that I dvr now: Julia - can't watch some episodes repeatedly but others I like Room 222 - Just getting into this show The Dick Cavett Show - what a mixed bag Tattletales - Love me some Bert Convy Sale of the Century - They gotta remake this one Ones that I cringe at: Card Sharks - maybe it's just me but I don't want to hear contestants thoughts about some random survey to random groups of people 3's Company & any spin-offs - didn't really like them the first time around Belvedere - loved it the first time, now not so much Jokers Wild - That whammy nonsense is almost as bad as listening to the contestants Let's Make a Deal - Monty seems cranky. Beat the Clock is lame and contrived. I Dream of Jeannie / F-Troop / Hogan's Heros / Partridge Family / Brady Bunch / Maude / San Pedro Beach Bums (I thought I dreamt that up!) It is interesting to see which shows that focused on issues back in the 60s and 70s -- how those same issues are still our issues today.
  15. I think some of the buyers are friends of the sellers. What else explains the guy who sold the bike table that was rickety? Others I think just want to be on TV. While it might seem outrageous that people are spending $100 on a nightstand that they could (in theory) pick up for $10 at a flea market and refurb themselves, this is NYC. They don't have backyards or basements where they can spray paint. Nor do these buyers want to. They also don't have access to the $10 an item flea markets. The ones Lara takes them to are very far away --- hours in a car and most NYC residents don't own cars. It'd be an incredible investment of time and $ to go to Elephant's Trunk or Stormville for them and try to find something. Much easier to go to LIC or Brooklyn Flea and spend a bit more (especially since sellers throw in free delivery often enough). There used to be some cheap flea markets out in Suffolk County LI but they are long gone. Only cheap options are Salvation Army's outside of the boroughs.
  16. They also shot some episodes in Barney's apartment. Those were a big departure from most of the episodes that were shot in the detective room at the one two.
  17. Nah, that's OK. I can't keep up with all these threads.
  18. I found this series on YouTube and almost peed myself from laughter. Just ordered the DVDs from Amazon. Can't wait until they arrive. Father Jack (RIP) wandering into an AA meeting thinking it was a pub The cave scene with them running out on the priest under rocks The lingerie store Yes, the entire golden cleric award The housekeeper falling from the windows The creepy fake/ex priest barging in on Fathers Ted & Dougal It's an ecumenical issue Wish I found this when it was first on!
  19. Oh that's what happened? It was so odd, I figured it was a repo.
  20. http://www.hgtv.com/design-blog/shows/flip-or-flop-christina-el-moussa-tarek-el-moussa-home-renovation Photo with the new baby. Also photos of their own renovated home. Photos look like there's a weird instagram filter on it. The home doesn't look like the one they film in.
  21. Celebrity Bowling is such a hoot. Between seeing the stars of yesteryear and the outfits...
  22. Anyone see that the USA version of Love it or List it has the first lawsuit against the show? http://www.journalnow.com/news/state_region/love-it-or-list-it-homeowners-sue-over-raleigh-renovation/article_9badc89b-203b-5e27-8fd7-ac9c7d5e622a.html Not surprising that once the show left the area it knew that it would run into troubles. You'd think they'd take better care with picking contractors. And the phony TV contractor they used? From Staten Island. NY not NC. A reject from one of the Silver brothers shows. I do find it funny how we're supposed to be surprised that the participants are assigned roles. No kidding!
  23. Decades is doing a marathon of The Doris Day Show this weekend. It's so disconcerting how they put the fuzzy lens on Doris and then switch back to a clear lens for everyone else. So noticeable! Wasn't around to see this the first time it aired. Since I'm also watching Tattletales on BZZR it's fun to see Jackie Joseph as something other than Ken Berry's wife in mumus. She's so skinny!
  24. That was a cute episode. One I hadn't seen before in reruns. I liked Olga the fitness instructor.
