Um, why isn't DC breathing down their necks for copyright violations? The whole "fastest man alive" and a race to determine who it is the Flash's schict.

Seriously?

1.They would have a he'll of a time trying to copyright something as broad as "the fastest man alive" or a race. A ton of comics/publishers have characters that are speedsters who use those concepts. 

2.The comics were originally published by DC(Wildstorm), and they were pretty cooperative when they cancelled the series but allowed it to go to another publisher.

Yeah DC wouldn't have a leg to stand on for the reasons listed. 

If porn parodies can barely change names and slap this ain't on the title and get away with it, The Boys will be A okay seeing as these are general riffs. A Train is nothing like Flash except for having the same powers for example. And there are tons of speedsters out there.

I am so intrigued by the underlying menace coming from Homeland. The way he discounts the lives of mere people, including casual murder. The real creepy way that he was put off by the baby. The controlling way he spoke to Queen Maeve. There is this low-grade malevolence that I am excited to see develop. 

I am struggling a bit with Starlight. I think it would be better if we saw some really impressive superhero work to justify why she is staying with the Seven. I know it was a dream of hers, but as things get worse and worse it is hard to understand why she is sticking with it. If we at least got to see her making an impact, it would be a lot more understandable. I guess she has the same weakness as the others: her reputation.

Somehow I don't quite buy how Starlight let's herself get preassured into following corporate's demands here. In the comics it seemed plausible, but here we see way more of the publicity side of things. Can you honestly tell me if she got fired for not sexing it up enough and went on a talk show tour saying so, that wouldn't tarnish the companies image?

They wouldn't let her do that. First, I'm sure she has signed paperwork not allowing her to disclose anything that happened. Second, these people are not going to let her ruin their business. They'll destroy her life if she does anything but walk way and even then, I'm sure they would try to make it difficult to be a hero on her own.

I think Starlight is a reflection of Hughie. Their journies seem to match to an extent, even learning the same lessons. If Homelander is Butcher's main nemesis, I wonder if Starlight will end up being Hughie's?

They really amped up the evil sadist in this episode. I'm curious about Maeve, and Black Noir? Are all of the 7 assholes? Any not corrupted by power/fame/money? Does Maeve have anything to do with Butcher? Who was the woman Mother's Milk mentioned as being Butcher's reason for going after the Supes?

Speaking of Mother's Milk another great addition to the Team. I really liked his talks with Hughie. Getting a sense that Milk is the Angel sitting on Hugie's shoulder while Butcher is the Devil.

If she quit, she would be letting her mother down.  She couldn't even tell her mom about The Deep's repulsive behavior, because it would tarnish the plan they had shared her entire life.

Speaking of porn.  The Deep reminds me of a pornstar named James Deen.  And it's not just looks.  Deen has been accused of doing stuff worse than the Deep.

Even in real life, Usain Bolt is often called 'the fastest man alive'. So I am not sure how DC can claim that phrase as its property.

The costume design scene made me laugh. How and why superheroes decide to change costumes has always been a subject to wonder about. Especially the thought processes that apparently lead women to outfit themselves in whatever the comic book artists think sexiest. Like... why did Psylocke ever think a butt-floss leotard was good attire for fighting bad guys?

I also laughed at the quick shot of Black Noir drinking through a straw.

Homelander is jealous of Stillwell's baby, and he's still obsessively controlling of Maeve. That guy just gets creepier.

I'd like to learn more about Maeve. Is she as corrupt as the rest of them? She didn't like Homelander killing that shooter, that's for sure. She gave Starlight that advice in the first episode, but was that because she's a better person, or just because she's as petty and venal as the others in the Seven. There's definitely a professional rivalry between her and Homelander.

Hughie's dad is bizarrely disconnected from his son's mental state. The fact that he just seems to take the brutal death of Robin in stride is so odd. Maybe it's meant to be a reflection of the effect superheroes have on the world, but it almost seems like he's sedated.

The cast of this show is certainly charismatic - Frenchie was surprisingly likeable, and Mother's Milk is pretty cool too. He's definitely more empathetic than Butcher, and obviously doesn't have as much of a grudge against supes.

I like the idea of Hughie and Annie. They're quite sweet in their scenes together, but the odds of it turning out well aren't great.

There is literally a movie called "Transmorphers: Fall of Man" You get get really close to the line.

Hubby & I just started watching this series and right off the bat as hooked uno h mysteries of Compound V, the Mallory thing, how the Supes being scared of Mr. Edgar, Homelander’s creepiness & malevolence.

What is Black Noir’s super power?  Does he even speak?

The visual of Pop Claw killing her landlord was as bad as watching The Mountain killing Oberyn on GoT.  And I thought nothing could ever be compare to that.
