Where is Whoopi getting the racist accusation against Bitsy? I haven't seen that. I've seen where people are criticizing her for such a ridiculous line of questioning - i.e. that she thinks a cigarette could be used as a weapon. The cop demanding that Sandra put out the cigarette was a pure power play, not (as Bitsy suggests) that he felt threatened.

P.S. I wouldn't classify Bitsy as a racist. I think she's an insincere people-pleaser type. She will say anything her boss tells her to say, whether or not it makes any sense.

This word salad is worthy of going head to head with Palin's top moronic statements.  Here is one of my favorites.  Sarah Palin explains Paul Revere:

"Part of his ride was to warn the British that were already there that 'hey, you're not going to take American arms, you are not going to beat our own well-armed persons individual private militia that we have.'"

How is/was this creepy, uneducated woman even part of the political landscape.  And at the highest level….

Does this not feel like the twilight zone?

I am really confused at how some people believe what Elisabeth said was racist....

I didn't see it that way except the cop seemed to have an agenda about Bland and she could have been more polite. But it quickly escalated and he said something about lighting her up. Tasered, iow.

I didn't see racism though as it was occurring.

And also thought it was a stupid question by Elisabeth.....Bland was in the car, the cop standing outside...with a taser and perhaps a gun. And wasn't there a second cop back at the police car?

The thing I thought most about was Elisabeth lying on twitter that she didn't suggest Bland could use the cigarette as a weapon. When will Republicans like her wise up and understand they are on VIDEO rather that double down or explain what they "didn't" say?

  • Love 3

I have no idea whether Bitsy is a racist and I don't think that question alone suggests it. I do think that she has a slavish worship of authoritarianism - cops, military, anything that feeds into her worldview based on fear. That question just basically her way of saying, hey, the cops were right, weren't they?

And Fox loves this. The more they can convince people that we're just steps away from anarchy and mayhem unless we unquestionably get behind all military and police action, the easier it is for their corporate military industrial complex buddies to get billions in funding.

  • Love 9

For sure it is police/military worship.  And what these dumb dumbs forget, these officers are human and there are flawed, violent, damaged ones right along with the great ones.  Is that too difficult for Hasselbeck to comprehend?  I think the best thing, no matter what, is listen to a police officer if he/she is asking you for something, but the way that one exploded for her to get the hell out of the car (because she didn't use her turn signal) was disgusting.  How threatened could he feel….a woman sitting in her car smoking a cigarette.  He is a trained police officer with a gun, a baton, a taser and really good helping of rage.  He had the upper hand was not in danger for a moment.

And then, these are the same people who think they need guns just in case the military goes wild and starts to ban Jesus.  Like a guy who works at Home Depot and has a gun collection is going to be able to stop a Marine.  But yeah, Fox loves this, this is the most Elisabeth has gone viral since she started.  They are probably thinking, "Finally!"

Dumbfounded when Whoopi made Bitsy's idiotic word salad racist.  So I guess any time the races aren't the same in a situation, it's racist - even if it's not?

I don't think Bits is racist, but it did remind me of the HUGE deal she made about the black baby doll going everywhere with what's her name that looks like Tim.:)

  • Love 3

The fake story about the doll was Bitsy's attempt to paint herself as progressive on race issues. (If memory serves, it was a doll from the Disney movie "The Princess and the Frog" and she probably got it free as Disney and ABC have common ownership.) We knew the story was fake because she was actually claiming that passersby in Manhattan were giving her and the kid disapproving looks about the doll. In Manhattan. In the mid-2000s.

I did not believe that pandering story either.  It was a lovely Disney film and nobody would notice or care if Hasselbeck Jr. was holding a Tiana Barbie.  Sidebar:  When visiting Disney world with my then 6yr old daughter, we were standing in line to meet the "princess and "prince" characters and my little one was so obsessed that Princess Tiana was chef-y/owned a restaurant and passionately quizzed her about how she had the time to be at Disney all day then rush back to New Orleans to make gumbo and serve her guests.  Did she wear the beautiful gown on the plane, lol.  The actress playing Princess Tiana just looked at me and completely broke character like "who is this little person?"  Children never really go deeper than the story/fantasy to notice race or gender issues.  They don't make statements on their racial or political stance.

I don't think Bitsy is a racist either but I do think Whoopi considers herself the final word and expert on identifying racism.  I'll never forget her shouting at RO that RO couldn't possibly know anything about racism (even after RO mentioned she is raising an African-American child in her home) because she was a white woman.   And don't forget she declared that Mel Gibson wasn't an misogynist anti-Semite after his drunken tirade against Jewish people because SHE KNEW him and he'd never done that in her home.  Huh????

Am I totally in the Twilight Zone or is Sherri - the worst cook and the most repugnant public chewer ever seen on The View - REALLY premiering a COOKING SHOW on the Food Channel in August???? Holy and Hungry? Say it isn't so.

Re: Haselback saying she didn't say that the cigarette could be used as a weapon. Hey EH! And the character on Law and Order that you got all in a tizz about was NOT given your name. But oh my goodness didn't she go ballistic when it was a similar name and she acted like they did it like a weapon aimed at her?

All Sandra Bland deserved was a ticket. But because she knew her rights as an activist she stood her ground. The cop couldn't take that "uppity woman" refusing his command/question and the assault started on his part to assuage his widdle ego.

Whoopi was sure giving Sherri a run for her money with the shoveling food, and maybe worse with Whoopi doing an intro or outro with her mouth still stuffed with food.  Hubbie got a kick out of this "Holy and Hungry" description.  We are going to watch this for sure - could be priceless comedy!  Hee!

Sandra Bland might have known her rights as an activist, but she sure didn't know how to behave when stopped by the police.  They have all the power and you do whatever they say without attitude.  When I was stopped last winter, I put my cig out before he got to my door.  Hey, I've watched Cops.:)

  • Love 3

There is no justification for a cop to react the way he did..... he walked up to the car door with an attitude and he escalated the stress and became out of control.

I have no idea why people are so quick to defend a cop who is not acting professionally.... why do so many people want these out of control cops to continue to keep their jobs.... these cops dont keep people safe.

Protect and Serve is their motto.... who was being protected and served in this case..... it is not against the law to be rude... it is not against the law to say no to a request.

  • Love 14

Sometimes people have to do things to get through a situation.  Act civilized to an asshole cop and get a ticket, or throw attitude and end up tased, arrested and dead.  I'll play the game to leave the situation and stay alive.

That is a good thought CattyTiger.... but that isnt always how it works.

I just posted a video on facebook where a guy was flagging down a cop.... they thought he had a gun so shot him in the head.... no charges filed of course.

It is easy to sit behind a keyboard and judge the victim.... but we should really condemn the "mistakes" that cops commit.... especially the ones who lie and have to change their story when the video comes out.

...and the ethical police officers are STILL forced to defend the bad apples.

Im still waiting for a good cop to stop and arrest a bad cop

I saw Sherrie on a repeat on The Steve Harvey where she spoke about her son Jeffrey getting erections about Beyonce..I was dumbfounded and appalled by that..What an idiot! I feel bad for her son..Does she not realize that little boys get erections all the time, it has nothing to do with sexual arousal..Babies in the womb get erections...She is truly an ignorant and stupid woman.. Sherrie is truly pathetic, Jeffrey's father should tell her to stop making dumb statements about their son. It is almost like she is obsessed in proving that Jeffrey is straight and like girls..I can't believe this stupid Homophobe is back on the show. And Yes Whoopie, I know a Homophobe when I see one...Homophobia like racism comes in many different forms. I have always pegged Sherrie as one....

  • Love 9

When Sherri first started on the View she talked about shaking her boobs in Jeffrey's face.  God I really hope she has stopped doing that if just looking at Beyoncé causes Jeffrey to have a physical reaction.

And yes Apprenctice79  she said plenty on the View to give us ample evidence she is a homophobe.  I can't remember if it was her or Elisabeth that  had a fit about a book about two male penguins living together.

  • Love 4

It was Sherrie Susieq147, and she also had a fit about the idea about Jeffrey playing dress up in a princess costume..It is a shame when Adults project their prejudices on children...Let children be children and nurture their imagination and curiosity about life..A boy gravitating to playing with a doll does not mean he is going to be gay...Even if he is gay, so what! He is  yours, you should love him no matter what...However, that is too complicated for a simpleton like Sherrie....

Edited by Apprentice79
  • Love 6

She always had that shit eating grin plastered on her face whenever someone from the LGBT community was on the show. She was clearly uncomfortable...She better be careful with Raven, she won't have it..I remember that one time she was on a Christian show and made some comments about Gay people that got her in alot of trouble, she had to qualify her comments.   I remember Mario Cantone  was on the show as a co-host and he was very disappointed in Sherrie's comments and he tried to reassure her that he did not hold it against her..Bullshit! you can tell that it affected Mario alot...It reminded me of what the panel, especially Rosie did with Kelly Osbourne yesterday about her faux pas about Latinos..

To play Devil's advocate for Sherrie, she seems to be very easily influenced by those around her...I wonder if she were around people who were open-minded about sexuality, would she be accepting of the LGBT community...She claimed that all of those abortions that were too much for her to count, were as a result of being pressured by people to have them....Who am I kidding? this is Sherrie here, she probably taught an abortion was on the same level as getting a root canal....

I heard that Trump will be a guest on Bitsy's show,  Fox & Friends tomorrow [TUE 8/11] morning.  For those of you with access to her Twitter account, think about sending her a copy of this quick clip of Trump calling Elisabeth, "One of the dumber people on TV".   I already sent it to the F&F show, lol.  I thought it might give some of the production assistants working the  social media a laugh.

I saw a FOX News segment where they talked about the Target company's decision to do away with having "Boys toys"  and "girls toys"  in separate aisles, with those labels.   Bitsy was between the two guys.  They were ranting and raving about how this was the going to be the end of civilization, as we won't be able to tell boys and girls how to behave.  Bitsy just sort of tsk'ed, and said "what next?", but didn't add.   She is such a moron.   Why not have the guts to just say - hey, all this means is that it's OK to buy a boy a kitchen set, or a girl a tool set - Target is trying to make them gay!.   But she doesn't have the guts to speak one word against the two jackasses she sits between.

as a follow up, bitsy does this story :  http://www.rawstory.com/2015/08/psychotherapist-warns-fox-kids-wont-know-what-their-gender-is-because-of-targets-gender-neutral-toys/    she actually finds a psychotherapist who thinks that gender-neutral toys will confuse kids, and adds that he sees a couple kids with gender identity issues in his therapy practice (Note to parents of those kids - find another therapist) .  He doesn't say, but implies, that not having toys in separate aisles by gender will add to kids' gender confusion!  then two female therapists disagreed, presented sensible points of view.

Bitsy is such an idiot!   she has kids -   did she prohibit them from playing with each others' toys, for fear of them not knowing their gender?   If a girl puts a car on a Hot Wheels track, does that mean she is a lesbian?  If a boy feeds a baby doll, does that mean he will want a sex change operation?

Bitsy HAS to know better - she's such a Fox puppet.

Bitsy used to plop on the most ridiculous big bow in her daughter's hair all the time (she might still do so), so I can imagine this being a big deal for her.

I remember Sherri getting her knickers in a bunch about the idea of giving Jeffrey a doll (or maybe it was Jeffrey wearing a girls costume for Halloween or a play).

I remember Sherri being upset about preschool, that there was a costume box, and she wanted assurances that his preschool/daycare teacher would not allow Jeffrey to dress up in girl clothes.

I don't recall Elizabeth being as rigid about toys, and i would think that once you've actually raised a boy and a girl, you'd realize that it's not a big deal at all.

Though I know she imagined weird looks from other parents when Grace had a Black doll, I bet Bitsy would not have let her sons walk out of the house with a "girl"  toy.

  • Love 3

I think I've posted about this before, but I so wish I could just put my baby brother on display and take him around to narrow-minded idiots like Sherri and Elisabeth.  I'm quite a bit older than my younger siblings, two girls and a boy. So when I'd do something like put on makeup, they wanted to join in. I'd put very light lipstick and eye shadow on anyone who wanted it. Sometimes my 3- or 4-year-old brother was among that group.  Fast forward forty years.  He's a colonel in the Army, a combat veteran, an aviation test pilot, on the U.S. Military Ironman team, and just got an advanced degree in biology.  He's married to a wonderful woman and they have a toddler I adore.

So much for gender stereotyping.  Surprise, I didn't turn him gay with my Bonnie Bell cosmetics.

I do have a gay stepbrother, who is CEO of Planned Parenthood in a very conservative state and does more for women's healthcare and reproductive rights than anyone I know.  He's married to a wonderful guy. Both of my brothers do more for the world than Elisabeth and her faux military support and running through Central Park with a big flag.

So, Bitsy  thinks we need to make sure we know which toys are for boys and which are for girls - she also wants to make sure that in AUGUST, we are prepared for the annual "war on Christmas".  You know, the thing where a country founded on freedom of religion makes sure that government money and institutions don't fund one religion's traditions over others :  http://www.newshounds.us/fox_s_war_on_christmas_comes_early_this_year_081415

As always, Hasselbeck is a mental midget.  And her delivery of questions is so ridiculous.  Who is she mimicking?  The haulting way she makes her point is just f****g word salad/gibberish followed by the face she makes as though she were in physical pain or smelled something really awful.  Gotta love closing the interview with….."a leader's voice ringing strong."   We're still talking about holiday decorations, right?  This wasn't her worst work, but still DRAMA and HOW DARE THEY.

I'm pretty sure the War on Christmas!!!  exists solely on Faux News; they made up the term to describe some organizations insistence on freedom not only of religion but from religion - at least as far as their tax dollars go.   I've never actually heard of any group trying to stop people from celebrating Christmas.

I kind of love that while everyone else at Fox is going crazy over running the Republican presidential races (by being allowed to dictate the number and names of candidates allowed to debate)  and defending Megyn Kelly while kissing Trump's ass,  they gave Elisabeth this very important and pressing assignment.    A true soldier in the made up war.

Hey, if she actually visits a nativity scene on public land would that make Bitsy a war correspondent????

The N. Calif Costco store I went to yesterday had giant spiders & glowing skulls displayed near the entrance to the first aisle -- by next week, I expect they'll be right inside the front door.

Last time I checked celebrating Christmas wasn't mandatory.   I'm an atheist so to me Christmas means presents and a big delicious dinner not celebrating the birth of Jesus.  And I'm curious if all these people in a tither over the "war on Christmas"  actually do celebrate that or if they are the ones who decorate their house with Christmas lights the day after Halloween and are first in line for Black Friday shopping.  I'm just saying......

I remember when it started.... there was a comentator who finally got fired..... John Gibson.

Well he wrote a book in 2006 called The War on Christmas.... and they promoted it on the air often.... well because of the ratings boost and the praise of the fans.... they kept it up and made it into a national issue.

The whole argument between Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays..... what they forget is Happy Holidays includes Merry Christmas....... bunch of idiots
