thuganomics85 June 23, 2014 Share June 23, 2014 Looks like it did pretty well in the ratings. We'll see if it holds, but not bad for a competitive night. I guess, love him or hate him, Michael Bay's name peaks viewers curiosity. Link to comment

Bruinsfan June 26, 2014 Share June 26, 2014 Sometime last year I got linked to a lengthy online focus group survey about this show, with lots of questions concerning my expectations for a Michael Bay-produced TV series. I remember telling them that with Bay involved I expected near-constant explosions and that Rhona Mitra would be required to do all her scientific investigations while dressed in a tank top. 1 Link to comment

Bruinsfan July 11, 2014 Share July 11, 2014 Oh, at least the pilot was already filmed by then - I remember seeing photographs. If I'd thought anything I wrote would have resulted in changes other than how the TV promos were edited, my "expectations" would have borne a suspicious resemblance to Wonderfalls. 1 Link to comment
xaxat July 19, 2014 Share July 19, 2014 Renewal? After what I hope is the resolution of this season, the creation of a vaccine, where else is there to go? More crazy Russian captain stuff? The crew slogging across a desolate landscape in order to reunite with their families? An enigmatic cliffhanger that the writers will figure out how to resolve during the break? (I'm looking at you Helix.) I really hoped that this was going to be a self contained story. Given the reality of TV, I should have known better. Link to comment

xaxat August 30, 2014 Share August 30, 2014 Alfre Woodard will be running the country (or what's left of it) on two shows this year. She's also playing the president on NBC's State of Affairs this fall. Link to comment
seamusk December 1, 2014 Share December 1, 2014 Good news. A fair part of the plot contrivance for this show may now be obsolete. Yes, energy break through and my first thought is, "That means half the first season would never have happened. No need to look for fuel." http://www.addictinginfo.org/2014/04/12/navy-ends-big-oil/ 1 Link to comment
Lonesome Rhodes February 17, 2015 Share February 17, 2015 TNT began the promo campaign for the new season, which begins in June. There was a lot of signage in the NBA All-Star weekend venues, with several mentions by the given TNT host as the cameras panned around the very large signage. Eric Dane was shown coming into a venue as he passed some last Ship signage, which also elicited some voice over by the host. Given the large male demo, I think this was smart and effective marketing. 2 Link to comment
bmoore4026 February 21, 2015 Share February 21, 2015 I was wondering, what with the now infamous and still ongoing "Gamergate" debacle, if Adam Baldwin would be returning or if they'll let him go? What Adam Baldwin has to do with Gamergate can be read here: http://gawker.com/what-is-gamergate-and-why-an-explainer-for-non-geeks-1642909080 Hell, I'm a geek, and the whole thing confuses me. xaxat February 21, 2015 Share February 21, 2015 I read somewhere that a Baldwin was involved in that mess. I just assumed it was Daniel. Link to comment
Hanahope February 25, 2015 Share February 25, 2015 Other than coming up with the hashtag that caught on, I don't see that Adam Baldwin is really involved in "gamergate", certainly to such an extent that he would lose an acting job over it. Link to comment
xaxat February 25, 2015 Share February 25, 2015 I agree that Baldwin is not going to lose his job (nor, I my opinion, should he) but I think he is more involved in #gamergate than coming up with the hashtag. Link to comment
Hanahope February 26, 2015 Share February 26, 2015 Well, he certainly has opinions about it, but he's not directly involved in journalism, or has any control over gaming journals, game reviews and such. I think that whole expanding it out to social justice, making it a liberal v. conservative thing is a bit much. Link to comment
shapeshifter February 26, 2015 Share February 26, 2015 If anything, Baldwin has probably garnered a tiny bit of media mention of a show that needed it. Link to comment

Curious5 June 12, 2015 Share June 12, 2015 I'm glad it's back - did not think it would make it pass the first season. The weakest point of the drama was they always put a sexy young woman as the savior of the crisis. That theme is getting so old. Link to comment

The weakest point of the drama was they always put a sexy young woman as the savior of the crisis. That theme is getting so old. I haven't watched the premiere yet, but personally I'd take a sexy young woman savior over a gruff white male(s) (or even worse, Adam Baldwin) any day of the week. That theme, as a matter of fact, is even older. Edited June 22, 2015 by Mars477 2 Link to comment

HalcyonDays August 11, 2015 Share August 11, 2015 WOOHOO! Just coming to post this! Last Ship Renewed for Season 3. That was fast renewal! - and exciting. It's such a fun fluff show. Guess they are now going to drag some storylines out more, or introduce some more big bads, but still, very happy. Moar ship porn... And we get same amount of episodes! Season 1 has 10. Season 2 had 13, Season 3 is 13. 1 Link to comment
thuganomics85 August 12, 2015 Share August 12, 2015 I just want to know who the next baddies will be, assuming this season ends with them defeating the Immunes and their hilariously over-the-top British accents. Since we already did the Russians last season, I'm guessing either North Korea or China. Or maybe they'll throw us a twist. Maybe New Zealand has been gearing up for war this entire time! Still, I'm glad. This is perfectly good summer entertainment, in my opinion. 1 Link to comment

HalcyonDays August 24, 2015 Share August 24, 2015 Episode 2.12 - Cry Havoc - Promo. ETA: Damn, I though for sure that Last Ship would be killed in the ratings by Fear the Walking Dead. I taped both and watched both on a delay (so I could fast forward through commercials.) But - happily no. The ratings are very slighly lower but not by much. Same demo share as last week. It held up. Excellent. Link to comment

thuganomics85 March 27, 2016 Share March 27, 2016 Premiere is set for June 12 at 9 p.m., and it will be two hours again. Article and video, where it seems like not only is Bridget Regan is joining, but Dichen Lachman as well. Also, it looks like the Chinese will be the villains in this one, which isn't the most surprising news ever. Also not surprising, the trailer gives no hint on Dr. Scott's fate. 3 Link to comment

ramble March 28, 2016 Share March 28, 2016 Dichen Lachman Ugh. Ugh ugh ugh. She is one of only a handful of actors that I typically can't stand no matter the role. Lonesome Rhodes May 25, 2016 Share May 25, 2016 CNO Chandler? He was made only CNO? In the previews, he is displaying the rank of Captain. Dude would have been so much more, given that he saved the presidency, if not the USA. Here's hoping the show actually goes somewhat edgy and relevant with Chinese tensions. That is all too real these days. There aren't any good answers, either. Link to comment
Raja May 25, 2016 Share May 25, 2016 Actually I like if they don't inflate the ranks as often happens. The CNO of a one ship navy shouldn't be a 4 star Admiral Link to comment
