I thought last season was meant to begin in Sept/October 2012, so now in the show's world it's March-ish 2013?  Candy Crush was a thing then, tho it's less likely Piper would be into it.

Although real Piper was such an early adopter that she has the Twitter handle @Piper, so I guess one could fanwank that Chapman would be on the early cusp of the Candy Crush phenomenon.

Loved Nicky's impersonation of Alex (that voice!).

So...we had Nicky being Alex, Healey parroting his therapist, and Pornstache unwittingly parroting everything Daya wanted Bennet to say.

This episode for me highlighted one of the key differences between Piper and Alex, and, why despite her drug running ways, Alex can still manage to come off at times as the better person.  When Alex mentions she wasn't happy in her prior relationship and Piper says something like "and I took advantage of that", Alex's immediate reaction was, "I'm a grown up, Piper".  In other words, she's willing to take responsibility for her role in the end of her break up.  While her behavior isn't exactly going to win any medals, her acceptance of responsibility is refreshing, especially given that area is one of Piper's weakest.

I was very confused by Pornstache's last scene. The way he gave Bennett that big wink, and then started on his rant about loving Daya and wanting to protect the baby, at first I thought he knew what was going on and he was purposely showing up Bennett by manning up where Bennett wouldn't. Did everyone else read that as a sincere reaction? I think I need to rewatch. I don't think they ever indicated that Pornstache knew Daya and Bennett were together, but his display just seemed a little over-the-top and out of character, and I didn't get the point of that wink. I'm probably reading too much into it.

I really don't see what Daya wants Bennett to do. It doesn't serve anyone for him to confess (well, except maybe for Mendez). There's no way they're going to live happily ever after in any scenario, but their best chance is for him to wait out her sentence. I also wonder who will take the baby after it's born... does Daya have any family members who aren't in jail?

I can’t see Vee making it thru the season without getting shanked. She is just too much of a disruptive sociopath to continue on.

I read an interview with Lorraine Toussaint, and she said she didn’t find out until Day One on set when Jenji Kohan told her, “Oh, and you’re a psychopath, too!” Since psychopaths basically “act” their way through life, Toussaint said it’s kind of weird to act a character who’s acting.

Kinda sad that nobody attended Healy's group session. He's not a bad guy, though he's done some screwed up things and self-admittedly has rage issues.

I’d like to know more about him. He’s a decent looking guy with a good job – doesn’t seem the type who’d need to order a bride from Russia. I’m sure there’s more there, and looking forward to finding out. Loved how he detested the psychologist’s use of the lingo, then promptly incorporated it into his “counseling” of the inmates.

I bought it. I mean no one was hurt and there was minimal property damage. The prime suspect is locked up, and the guard who supervised her in the van was fired.

I missed something (this is what happens when you sip whipped cream vodka while watching the show): Why was the guard fired? I was under the impression that no one knew she’d left the parking garage that day…and if they did, she would’ve been in a heap of trouble. Can someone fill in that gap for me?

 “…And no soft cheese!”

Favorite line of the episode! Totally out of character – at least what we've seen of it – but I loved it.

Suzanne beating up Poussey horrified me. I don't know if it was because it was especially violent, or because I absolutely love Poussey, or because I have a soft spot for Crazy Eyes and hate to see her be violent...but it was horrifying to me.

I felt the same way about this that I feel when one of my students, whom I like very much, does something that disappoints and makes me sad.  I just kept saying "oh, no" over and over again.  Suzanne...poor gullible Suzanne...who sees the world in such a unique way and who just wants friends...falls under the spell of a psychopath.  I saw that Vee gave Suzanne a little nod as if to give her the ok to start beating Poussey.  So sad.

Also really lovely was the scene between Nicky and Red when she handed over the heroin.  I actually teared up then, I think mostly out of relief that Nicky didn't use it and happiness to see her get such support.

Whew. Relief doesn't cover it. That was a Big Deal. Good for her.

And if her [Vee] true self is shown, maybe Taystee or Suzanne?

I think dramatically from the tv pov, it's got to be Taystee. I do like that Red called her out on being a bully. Vee is about 99% bully and 1% criminal mastermind. I liked that Poussey was ready to stand up to her, but I knew she would get a beat down, since they showed Red getting a beat down in the flashback. I wanted P to just walk away

I like that Piper figured out Polly was the one Larry slept with.

Polly's response to the bag of shit on fire..."I deserved that"

I finally enjoyed Piper this episode. She figured it out I think 5 seconds after Polly sat down. And that was some good revenge. Piper certainly has a right to be pissed, but I do hope she can eventually move past it.

And once again we get glimpses that Piper was not then or ever really some naive shrinking violet taken in by Alex's schemes.

This is the first time I've been interested in Piper and Alex this season. I don't really care who she ends up with, and I tend to lean on that she shouldn't end up with anyone, but it was good and interesting to me to confirm that Piper not this little naive waif whisked away into some lesbian xanadu.

Nicky reminds me so much of Rayanne on My So-Called Life.

Two words: Tino.

I'm really over Daya.  I don't know what she's expecting, but all these head games she's playing with Bennett are nuts.

I really don't see what Daya wants Bennett to do.

Honestly, she's really dumb. She pulled the "where I come from a man takes care of his kids". Well ok, but how does that help now? Isn't that what he's doing? By not going to jail? I would find it horribly perversely funny if he just quit and walked away.

I'm surprised Pornstache didn't say that he wore a condom. Then again, he was *glad* so maybe he figured it broke or something. That does happen. It's kind of a shame the actor could only be available for the 2 episodes. He wrote 15 shots just in the morning!

Didn't he stand aside and watch while Tucky attacked Piper with a potentially lethal weapon? Didn't he sneer and then walk away while Piper begged for his help? I think he's a pretty bad guy, especially considering that keeping these women safe is his job.

Yes, and he shouldn't have done that. I think the going to therapy and actually trying to do *something* with the counseling group is his way of making up for it. He also pushed Piper's furlough through as well. Not that it excuses him, but I don't know if he should be classified as a bad guy for the rest of his life either.

I bought it. I mean no one was hurt and there was minimal property damage. The prime suspect is locked up, and the guard who supervised her in the van was fired. As far as DNA goes you hear all the time about crime labs being so understaffed, that there is a DNA backlog for rape cases. Not sure running DNA on a breaking and entering case would be a priority at all.

I fully expect Daya to be totally into Pornstache's display since he basically did everything she wants Bennet to do. I bet there will be more of her guilting Bennet in the coming episodes and more of me being annoyed by it.

Yeah the criminal justice system being ineffective is never unrealistic to me. Let's say the cops didn't write Christopher off immediately, even if his stalker's in prison (hundreds of miles away? Presumably the hospital was closer). They may have called the prison and asked if they've had any escapes recently...and they're told, yes an old woman with dementia, but not since then. Even if whoever they speak to joins the dots they won't want to admit to being slack about monitoring inmates. Especially if it were fig.

Do we know how long Daya's sentence is? She's never mentioned who'll look after the baby (apart from Bennett which would be inexplicable to social services/the prison administration), IIRC.

I want to be Piper's Facebook friend to play Candy Crush with her...

Anyway even if Mendeztache is an ahole I felt sorry for the guy when and if he comes out of jail to find out that the baby isn't his.. going to see his heart broken in pieces.

This was by far my favorite episode of the season! I almost screamed with joy when Alex popped out from under the sheets. So good to see her again and to get more insight into the beginning of the Piper/Alex relationship. This whole episode turned everything on its head from last year where it was presented that it was strictly Alex pursuing Piper and seducing her. Now we know after that initial meeting it was actually Piper who first called Alex and then went after her in the bar even though she knew she was in a relationship. Plus it shocked me that Alex was the first to say ILY as I thought for sure that would have been Piper. I really see their relationship now as so much more even as Piper more than held her own. I loved how vulnerable Alex was when she said I love you and worried that Piper didn't feel the same way. That's one reason that no matter what bad things she may do I still love Alex like crazy.

I also loved Nicky's hilarious dead on impression of Alex and the ending with Pornstache. A very enjoyable episode!

That was an amazing scene, so sad and terrifying and powerfully acted by all involved. Very few words were spoken, but every actor's intent and internal monologue was perfectly clear.

The B roll from them filming that scene was funny because Taylor was losing her shit at Natasha's impression, and even in the final cut it looks like she was barely holding it together.

Why didn't Red have horrible bruises from the beat down she received in the previous episode? She would be hospitalized with that beating. It's lack of attention to plot consistencies that make a show jump the shark for me and this show has unfortunately jumped the shark :(

I would love to see that! Do you know if it's posted anywhere? I wondered how Taylor was able to keep a somewhat straight face so it makes sense they had to do a lot of takes lol

I saw it somewhere on YouTube right before the premiere, but I don't remember what it was called.  It was linked on another forum.  Maybe try searching for the show title and b roll?  It had a few mild spoilers, I remember, including a dialogue-less scene of Piper in the finale that kind of gave a small plot point away [probably shouldn't say what here.]

I just ran across a gif of them laughing over the scene here:

Someone asked Laura about it in an interview and she laughed about it too.  Pointed out that all Natasha did was lower her voice and pull her shirt out.  Heh.

Thanks for the gif! Too funny. Can't find the b roll but the gif is good enough :) So glad to hear that Laura saw the impression and LOL at her response. The pulling her shirt out part was my favorite. Thanks again!

So I was pretty shocked that Suzanne beat up Poussey like that and its so scary how much control Vee has now over her gang.

Also agree that Daya is acting pretty dumb over the Bennett/Mendez situation.    Mendez is not good for anyone (though it seems if anyone could bring down Vee it would be him, though she could possibly manipulate him too).  I too don't understand what Daya wants out of Bennett.  Does she want a father to help raise the child, or in jail?

About the only thing I like of the whole Larry/Polly story was Piper arranging for the flaming poo on Polly's porch.  And Polly knew immediately it was from Piper.

Glad to see Morello finally realizing that she has a problem and Christopher is not her man.  Agreed that even if the police were inclined to believe it was Morello who broke into his house, they wouldn't bother doing anything about it, since nothing was really harmed and it would be too much trouble to prove she was there.  A window, robe and stuffed animal can be easily replaced.  But I can see where he thought a good threatening visit to her in jail would hopefully stop future 'visits.'

Good to see Nikki resisting the heroin and giving it to Red.  If they can get all of their act together, maybe they can take down Vee.

UGH. Just got to this episode in my binge watching. I had such high hopes that I'd never have to look at Laura Prepon's eyebrows ever again. They gross me out as much as Pennsyltucky's former teeth.  WHY do we get to watch that manipulative sociopath fuck with Carrie Bradshaw....I mean Piper...yet again. And she goes back for more....again.  What a moron. She IS Carrie Bradshaw in prison khakis.

I really dislike Vee, not just for her attitude, but for making me dislike Taystee and Crazy Eyes. Someone, PLEASE shank her. ON camera.

even if Mendeztache is an ahole I felt sorry for the guy when and if he comes out of jail to find out that the baby isn't his.. going to see his heart broken in pieces.

Considering that he's responsible for the death of a drug addict that he locked in a closet with enough pills to kill her....

Wasn't it mentioned in Season 1 that he visited her once before?  I could've sworn someone (Nicky?) said he visited her when she was first incarcerated.  Of course, that could have been a lie Lorna told.

Yeah, I remember that from season one, too. I think it was Nicky, calling Lorna out on her wedding planning bullshit, who pointed out that Christopher only showed up for visitation once, and hasn't shown up since. So, he'd already be on a list to visit Lorna.

I had a little bit of a problem with that scene and the outcome. I've never been stalked (or stalked anyone, for that matter), but from what I thought I understood, I thought you were never, ever supposed to engage or confront the stalker--when a person is stuck in that mode, they view any attention as 'good'. Like the way she was grinning and simpering at him in court.

Here also she stays in her delusion. She says He's so mean, like he's really mean....

At first she says to Nicky I am crazy.  but then she changes and just says he's so mean. (So for a while she had realized it was all fake but she immediately got back into her fantasy)

And about what you say about stalkers I don't believe that you should never talk to a stalker. That's only when a stalker is really delusional and mental ill. Lorna is also a little bit ill but I think the more he would come to say to her that they are not a couple the more she would face reality and let go her fantasy that he's the man of her life.

I think the study that you should ignore and never talk to a stalker should be reviewed. I think the study is a lot based on what victims have told. I think some poeple don't react well when they get stalked. I think poeple get quickly scared and just start to ignore and then it gets worse. I read a lot about stalkers. There are different kind of stalkers and Lorna is an intimacy seeker but a little bit psyhotic too because like in the court she said he's being so dramatic, but she kind of know what she is doing. So talking to her I think would have been good.

To make my point there is a difference between a delusional/mental ill/psychotic stalker who really believes the victim is in love with the stalker and the intimacy seeker. I think you always have to make it clear to the intimacy seeker. The more the better.

I say this because I think I almost had a stalker.

I had met a girl in a bar. I was a bit drunk but I flirted with her. The next day she (sally) sent me a message when would go on a date. I thought to myself did i ask her on a date?? Then I thought maybe I did in my drunkness. And I thought well why not. But for me the date was really bad. I didn't like her. So after a few hours I saw that she was interessed in me by the things she said and after a while a I began to say We're not a match and it was only a one time thing. I was going to see some friends later in a bar and she was going to take her bus at 10 to go home. So a bit before 10 i said that i was going to my friends but that I will accompagny her to her bus, but then she said she was going with me to the bar... I said no. You're going home. I want to go my friends alone. And she said yeah but i can be in the bar. I got a little bit scared so I said again that I only want to be friends and not more and that i was not interessed in her. That I didn't want her in the bar. I asked if she knew someone there. She said yes and kept on saying she was also going to the bar so I said okay but i m not going to give you any attention. I am there with my friends. When we arrive there she said hi to my friends... I explained what was happening to one friend. Then a kind of ex girlfriend came in and we we're just close like good friends. And Sally began to be jealous and asked my friend who that girl was and why she was flirting with me... while we we're just talking. And she said to my friend that I was here with her and shouldn't talk in that way to my friend...

So i talked to Sally again that we're not together and that she is not my type and that i am not going to talk to her anymore.

It was in a bar where you also could dance. So we always go dance after a while. She also went on the dancefloor but the whole night she stood in a corner watching me, looking really really depressed and crying but also really mad at me. I was trying not to look at her and just having a good time. But she stood there like that for hoors. After a while she was kissing someone else so I thought. God bless you she understood. She'll leave me alone.

The next day she messaged me we had to talk. That I had been really mean to her. And that she wanted me to explain what she had did wrong. Why I had been so mean to her and that we should work it out. (but in a way that she was my girlfriend ...) I said her again that she was not my type but if she wanted we could be friends but i didn't want her as a girlfriend.

She said why cant we just work it out. Let me call you. (she already tried to call me but i did'nt answer)

I said I dont want to call you and that she should leave me alone. That I was never interessed, that it was a stupid date to get to know eachother but that she was not my type. That I would never be attracted or interessed in her and everything you possibly could say to someone to reject the person.

It kept on like that for a while and I kept on saying that I didn't want her.

But then after a half hour It stopped. It just stopped. I was really scary.. I was really scared but I really thougt that it was the best way to just keep on rejection her.

But she was a really scary person..

So I was watching Orange Is The New Black for the millionth time, and I was so proud of myself for noticing this--after watching the scene where Wade Donaldson (CO) finds the cigarettes in Janae Watson's bunk, and he asks her what/if she was selling them for, and she replies "No, sir.", and he gets (a little) pissed off, and says "Don't say 'no sir' to me, now let's march your pretty black ass down to the SHU!"....so I'm wondering if it's just me, or does he not have a thing for her? If I'm remembering correctly, he also brought her down to the SHU the first time she went when she refused to be patted down by a male guard.

Is it just me? I think he has a thing for her. I asked my friend, and she agreed with me. That'd make for some interesting tv. At least to me..haha.

Yes, and he shouldn't have done that. I think the going to therapy and actually trying to do *something* with the counseling group is his way of making up for it. He also pushed Piper's furlough through as well. Not that it excuses him, but I don't know if he should be classified as a bad guy for the rest of his life either.

Personally, I think condoning the murder of someone because it turned out she liked to have sex with girls is in the "bad guy for life" category.

I also think his motives for therapy group are purely selfish. As he told Piper, the girls used to like him. He just wants to be liked. He doesn't actually do anything to help anyone, in general.

Yeah, I remember that from season one, too. I think it was Nicky, calling Lorna out on her wedding planning bullshit, who pointed out that Christopher only showed up for visitation once, and hasn't shown up since. So, he'd already be on a list to visit Lorna.

Nicky says he hasn't been to visit since the third week she got there. I can fanwank that her sister with her brother-in-law or something visited early on and she was so new at the time no one thought twice about it. But after she talked endlessly about Christopher for months people would have been curious and strolled past the window to see if she got visitors. So, she never lied about him being the one to visit again.

At first she says to Nicky I am crazy.  but then she changes and just says he's so mean. (So for a while she had realized it was all fake but she immediately got back into her fantasy)

Well, she also says she never thought he would be so mean and he wasn't the man she thought he was. Which is acknowledging she didn't know him. She is obviously still being crazy in that he had reason to be upset. But I looked at it like she was weaning herself off of the fantasy rather than going cold turkey. "I never thought he would be a mean guy. I don't want a mean guy." as a way of distancing herself from the man she thought she knew.

In other words, she's willing to take responsibility for her role in the end of her break up.

And that was also Piper taking responsibility for her role in that breakup. She didn't shrug and say she did nothing wrong. She admitted she went after a woman in a relationship when she saw a weakness. They both admitted their own fault in the same conversation. Piper isn't the best at taking responsibility but she is leagues ahead of Alex, who still blames Piper for a breakup that was 98% Alex's fault,  in that department.

Historically, that's never been a legitimate excuse for bad behavior.    Taystee KNEW what was going to happen to Poussey.   Her expression a moment before it happened telegraphed that clearly.   Good ol' Taystee stood by and said/did nothing while a maniac (and yes, I think Suzanne is a bonafide maniac) kicked the shit out of her best friend, and worse, while that friend was drunk and unable to fight back.

I find it interesting that Sophia is virtually the only black woman who hasn't entered Vee's sphere of influence, for either good or bad.

That was Cindy who stood bye and watched Suzzanne beat on Poussey, I just watched the scene I'm pretty sure Taystee wasn't in the scene
