That would be helpful because I can only remember a few of the girls who had tried out before, and to be honest about it, I cannot figure out certain vets because a few of them look like twins.

My thoughts on the finals results/process:

- As has been said, I was underwhelmed by the snip of Kashara's solo. It was all tricks, no dance, and the outfit did her no favors. Heather O.'s was FIRE. 

- How has it not been brought up what a weak dancer Savannah is!? Her and Tara went through the process together as BFF last year with tara being the stronger dancer (but with haggard hair and in need of a makeover, pls DCC gods do it this year) and Savannah was shown in TC last year going to multiple workshops for help but continued to show memory problems. Even videos of her in Michelle Keys and such choreo classes she lacks power and never finishes a move. Her hair is essentially the same color as her tan. I find her gorgeous and a hardworker to overcome her weak dancer repertoire but I kinda of am surprised she made it into TC and thus I think she'll struggle in TC against the rookies and possibly be a cut.

- Christina brings the power but also shows memory issues. She is a hardworker but I could see her possibly being a vet cut in TC

- In the TC candidate photo, you can so easily pick out my #1 girl crush Alexis. Her beauty is just magnetic

- I'm really stoked about Madeline Malloy and Dayton. It seems like they have some beautiful new DCC prospects!

They don't take Keyra and Selina because of their weight yet they take VK and Dayton with issues?  VK has been working at least 2 years to improve her body and dancing so there is no way it will change in the next 2 months.  If it is a week team again this year they only have K&J to blame.  I liked Keyra's solo but  she has an attitude, bosses people around  and takes things for granted.   I don't care for Erin's looks or dancing, surprised they brought her back.

Corrected it for you. I admit I am puzzled by Amy's solo. Vet Madeline and Khayln were great. The other vet solos shown on the DCC Facebook were okay. I hope they show more of the solos on their facebook page.

God I love you for making the correction!!!!!!!  You are sooooo right!!!!!  Sam should have tried out this year they would have taken her to TC also  then they could have cheated 3 girls out of a spot that don't have a mommy that was a DCC.

I (unpopular opinion) think Dayton made it on her own. If it were for her mom, she would have made it to training camp last year and more than likely the team. I personally think she is talented and would make a great ambassador for the team.

I have not made up my mind on Victoria, but I do not think she is the worst dancer to make it into training camp. She Is beautiful and is a decent dancer. I do not know much about her so I can't immediately assume she is as awful as the people on here claim her to be.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but if Dayton would have use her friends and family program she would have made it into TC and/or the squad last year. Did she make it into TC because of Shelly? I have no clue since I was not a judge, and I was not in the room with the judges when it came to deciding yes or no on her. Sadly in the DCC world, being a favorite, having a friend or sister on the team already, willing to kiss behinds, or being a legacy may get you a spot on the team. The DCC organization is not the only place of business who has done this type of thing before, and they certainly will not be the last.

No, but Kelli goes on and on about how she has to protect "the brand" -- clearly she's lost sight of that when it comes to the overweight daughters of her friends.

I'm SO happy Brennan made it back.  Just give that girl a uniform and put her on the squad now.  She'll likely kill everything this ear and be amazing (crossing fingers).  I'm still not happy with Christina and Victoria making TC, but I'll deal with it just like I did when Cassie made the squad.  Something about Christina really bugs me and, though I can't put my finger on exactly why (I know I've tried to the point that some of you are sick of me saying something about her), it annoys me that she's still on the squad.  There are people I just don't like and she's one of them.  Victoria may be another.  I'm glad to see Dayton made TC and hope she does well.  We'll have to see.

Finally someone else said it! I've thought I was going mad. Selina and Keyra weren't my faves (and honestly most of my faves have left the squad anyway) but you don't cut someone who has proven themselves just to get another blender and another 'overweight' (by dcc standards) dancer in.

Quite honestly, last year I said that Dayton's cut was mostly to prove she wasn't getting things handed over. But again, just how many girls have gotten verbal, personalized feedback right after getting cut instead of just the note that Kelli is sending out to all dismissed finalists? She is miles ahead of VK, but she is too much of a blender, soft and at least last year it was obvious she wasn't comfortable in interviews. If she was just a random Dayton, she would never get a chance. That doesn't mean she won't improve, but most of the finalists would to if they were given a chance.

As for Victoria, I don't care whether she has an attitude or not, because I can't confirm this anyway and at the end of the day it doesn't even matter. But as for her dancing ability? She has posted so many vids so please go ahead and check them yourself. I don't think anyone can say that she is objectively good enough for dcc, let alone that she was better than all the cut girls.

If you put Christina next to Keyra, Christina’s body looks so much better and typical DCC. That doesn’t have anything to do with race. Keyra is a big build for DCC. Always has been. Now Khalyn next to Christina is a different story.... if they’d cut Khalyn over Christina, I’d give your race card more credence, as she’s an amazing dancer and has the DCC figure.  I’m actually shocked they put Keyra on the team last year with her figure. IRL, she’s got a great body, but she is heavy for DCC. 

 

Christina looks smoking hot right now.... Keyra didn’t come to auditions looking her best. Neither did Selina. That’ll get you cut every time. I’m not surprised by either of those two cuts.

Swimsuit fittings may have played into the cuts as well.... Keyra looked DCC heavy in the pic I saw on Instagram.... maybe she wasn’t photographing well in the swimsuits and they felt like they couldn’t take her. ?‍♀️

 

I will say I’d like to see  more women of color on the squad, but I don’t think Keyra was cut unfairly.

I have heard other girls who were cut at finals getting feedback from a judge about why they did not make it to TC. I am sure Dayton knew she bombed her interview big time to the point she did not need to hear it from Kelli or her mom.

I think Keyra looked bigger (not saying she did not look good, but not good in the DCC World) than she did last year. I also think she was a little cocky at the end of TC when she was told she was not bringing it in the one scene. I do remember during the cameo shoot last year about Kelli and Judy saying she did look a little thicker than the rest of the girls, and Kelli said she wanted to take a closer look at her dancing before deciding if she would make the team. She may have been told to lose weight during the season also. Selina was told to firm up last season by Kelli. She was called into the office twice, and Miss Kitty was saying she would have cut her for her weight. I can understand how hard it is for the girls to keep the weight down, but I believe Selina was called out for weight her first season also, so it might have played a factor in why she was cut.

I’m no conspiracy theorist but I feel like Brennan was taken into training camp for the television show and the narrative she brings. 

The past couple seasons have featured girls who have tried out 5 times. Amy and Kendall were cut on the last episode of Season 11, and I feel like Christina would have been cut last season if not for the Vet drama. 

I think having those girls who continue to try out and then subsequently see their dreams crushed reinforces the idea that the DCC is this unattainable dream and helps make the team seem more aspirational than it is. And I LOVE the DCC and Kelli and Judy, so this is not coming from a place of skepticism or resent. 

If Brennan gets cut, it’s another dramatic Meghan Flaherty or Amy moment. If she makes it, it’s a redemption story that they can continue to milk throughout the season in press and on the podcasts. That’s almost why I think Christina was kept on the team - they constantly remind us that she was the girl who auditioned 5 times and finally made it. 

For them I think it sounds determined and motivated. I happen to think there’s a bit of desperation in hearing that. But that’s just me!  No shade ??‍♂️

And I honestly don’t understand why Brennan would try out again when it seemed like the reason she was cut was because she wasn’t photogenic. Short of getting plastic surgery and a full makeover, I’m not sure how Brennan (or the judges) think this year will be different!  If someone talked about me like they did Brennan during cameo photos, I’d be pissed!  So I won’t feel bad if she doesn’t make it - she’s put herself up for this knowing full well the rewards and the consequences. 

Shifting topics, the other training camp candidates look amazing this year!  I hope it’s a talented and competitive squad. And I actually hope they take 39 candidates this year so they can nurture a new batch of great stars.

I'm trying to reserve judgement but I hope she does something quick to lean up.  On the HD, her middle looks extremely thick.
