Alyssa, please get a full length mirror. 5a905b8501736_ScreenShot2018-02-23at1_19_49PM.png.c61adb9f82799957abf5e7f87a3e2707.png

This is almost everything that you do not put on a short busty woman.  I wish RuPaul had brought some of his drag queens around to give her a fashion consultation and stab the stylists that keep doing this to her.  I love JTF, he is always a great judge.

just happened onto this article about "outrageous" fashion in Europe this runway season. Certainly more avant guarde than anything we saw in this episode. But Josh would fit right in!

Checked out those looks, to me it is crap piled on crap piled on more crap.  The say outrageous, I say bullshit.  Or the emperor's new clothes.  Or The Hunger Games.

People love to hate Josh.  <with good reason>

Maybe I'm the wrong audience for this show.   I want to see more people like Kimberly, whom I admired for her gentle personality and professional approach to the challenges.   I feel the same about Stanley.

Like all of you, I knew who was going home the moment it came down to Kimberly and Vegas In Outer Space.

It's my number one criticism of this show -- 99% of the time they keep the bitchy gay guy and send a woman home instead, deserved or not.

I adore RuPaul.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but see ejaculate when I saw Joshua's. Like I thought very clearly, "That looks like semen." I'M SORRY, I know that's gross. I thought he should have gone over Kimberly - I just think he has bad taste.

Semen was the first thought here, too.   It wasn't lost on the judges, either.   When RuPaul said, "She looks like a porn queen," the ginger guy added "Yeah, in the final scene."   Eww.

Josh's spunkfest was criticized most for the color palette.   I thought Kimberly's golden/amber top was glorious.   I wish she had added other elements made from the same fabric.   But in terms of color, Kimberly's was far superior.

RuPaul Charles was okay, but if you're going to have RuPaul on your show, have RuPaul.   Maybe they were afraid she'd make Georgina look frumpy.

I believe that is why most if not all are watching.  My opinion about Josh comes from the fact that he keeps.coming.back.  I'm betting that the producers of PR have gotten plenty of feedback about him, and whether it's positive or negative, it means people are watching, and watching him specifically.  That translates to ad revenue.  The business of television is a nasty little bi*ch.

Side note, as much as I wanted Josh to be retired, Kimberly's look was worse, imo.  Hopefully this will be his week.

I don't get the logic of pissing off viewers.   I concluded last night's episode thinking I don't want to watch the rest of the season.   From the Betty Boop bullshit last week to slimy Josh to Alyssa Milano's cringeworthy appearance, it's not much fun.

I think the challenges this season are sort of lame myself.  I'm not such a fan of the weird and unusual.  For me, I watch to see what these folks create that may relate to me and my aesthetic, or just to enjoy beautiful fashion being created.  Haven't seen much of that imo.

That's why they invented Project Runway Jr.

I feel pretty strongly that this show shouldn't have avant garde challenges anymore. I understand it's meant to be experimental, not necessarily wearable, fashion - but I can't remember many looks from any contestant in any season being very...good. I was shocked they loved Merline's so much, I thought it looked liked gauze bandages and I fail to see what was avant garde about it. I only disliked this episode slightly less than Betty Boop last week. I sincerely hate when shows bring cartoon characters on. Hate. It.

I've always liked the original PR best and felt like All Stars never got a host I could connect with. Alyssa is okay, but not great. Not having a supermodel in the role is fine, but I still think it should be someone with more of a fashion background and who looks and dresses fashionably. I get that Alyssa is a more normal sized woman and I am more than okay with that, but things almost never look correct on her, ya know? I always feel like it's when my niece used to play dress up - as though the clothes, hair and makeup were clearly meant for someone else. I like Isaac and Georgina quite a bit, and though Anne feels a bit wooden and robot-y sometimes, she's okay (no one can compare to Tim for me). I'm not sure why, but I have a constant low-grade irritation each time Alyssa appears or speaks.

I'm finding it hard to pull for anyone left this season. I feel like too many female designers have been cut when there were clearly male designers that should've gone first. Just sayin.

I agree with pretty much everything you say here.  I feel like Alyssa is a bit snobby.  Don't know if it's because she thinks she should be or because she really is, but either way, I'm not a fan.

My brother met her quite a while back when he was an extra in a film with her. He said she was super sweet and hung out with the extras and such. So I tend to think she is trying to play the role of host more than that she is snobby. Granted it was a while ago so things may have changed but I still give her the benefit of the doubt.

I can't lie - I love having Josh on the show. He doesn't quake in front of the judges and refused to waste his time coming up with some circuitous story about "his girl" in this ridiculous outfit. The second he saw the judges thought it was trash he was done and would neither defend it nor apologize for it. He wasn't really getting constructive criticism - not that I blame the judges, it was hideous. He has a very distinct point of view and generally good construction skills, which the judges love in a contestant, but a tacky and sometimes sleazy aesthetic, which they generally hate. It's fascinating watching him get as far as he does with his take it or leave it attitude.

I agree with everyone that the Avant Garde challenge needs to take a permanent vacation. I have been watching PR for a decade and still have no idea what it means in terms of fashion design.

He does appear to be a very capable pattern maker and tailor.  With his taste level being what it is, I think he would be a shoo-in for a job with Pnina Tornai.  He certainly could have provided valuable collaboration on this garment for example:

It’s a negligee/ice skating costume/wedding dress all in one — seems like it’s right in Josh’s wheelhouse!

If Alyssa's dress was stitched closed a bit in the front, it would make a darling dress for a six year old playing fairy princess.   But for an adult with her boobs on display, it's just. . . no.

Plus the color was terrible on her, the length as unflattering as every other time she's worn it, and did anyone else notice the brief shot of very unfortunate side boob?

It's always nice to hear stories about celebrities not being assholes! No matter how long ago it was, it's nice that she hung out with the extras instead of hiding in her trailer. I always shake my head when I hear about actors having rules on set about how no one can look them in the eye and other such nonsense.

Josh's esthetic is "slutty Judy Jetson".  They keep asking him back because he's an unabashed dick. I cannot stand him. Not only does he raise unpleasantness to an art form, and not only are his one-note designs tacky and trashy, he looks so grubby and greasy, like he need to be tossed into the shower and scrubbed down with a wire brush.

Stanley is really quietly impressive, isn't he? His stuff always looks classy and luxe. I'm loving him this season.

I was remarking on the diversity this season to myself too! I love it.

I'd love to see Fabio win. I've loved him since his first season, and I thought he should have won then, too.

It's not diverse to have zero straight white people.  Just sayin

Also, can I just say how excited I am by the sheer number of black and brown contestants this season? It's such a rare sight on these types of reality TV shows, including Project Runway (although last season was awesomely diverse).

Of course they do. I was responding to an observation that seemed to be referring to who's left.

Neither of the original posts mentioned anything about diversity only in the remaining designers at this point in the competition. Both of them said “this season,” which would seem to indicate throughout this season, not just the designers who were left by this episode. Original posters, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong in assuming that “all season” meant all season as I’m not trying to put words into your mouths.
