To me ED isn't synonymous with sex. Maybe to others it is. How is erectile dysfunction not synonymous with sex?!! Anyway, moving on... It's quite funny we have the Hustlers, who to me are male hookers/street prostitutes, and then on the Healers we have the penis specialist, and then on Heroes, a dick inspection on the first night, and to cap it off some real dickheads, like Joe and Alan from what I've seen so far, on this cast. 2 Link to comment
iMonrey October 3, 2017 Share October 3, 2017 Quote Comps DID use to be a lot more diverse. Well, for one thing the show has gotten lazy after 35 seasons. For another, the producers have decided the majority of the audience just wants to see swim, maze, puzzle challenges and that's it. I'm sure this has all been market researched, focus grouped and viewer feedbacked to death and the decision was made that this is what the audience likes best. There isn't anything new these days in the challenges. The only new twists they keep coming up with are these dumb themes like Heroes, Healers and Hustlers. 1 Link to comment
mythoughtis October 4, 2017 Share October 4, 2017 (edited) I do not like Joe at all. He can save his interrogation, intimidation tactics for the specific parolees that deserve them. Not all parolees would deserve that either. He's not Mikes' probation officer, nor is he Mikes' boss. Mike doesn't have to ask permission to look for idols. So sick of people throwing hissy fits about others searching for idols. Looking for idols is not cheating. Alan's strategy backfired. It was also creepy after a point. I like Ryan. Ben seems to be a good old boy. That is all I got. Edited October 4, 2017 by mythoughtis 2 Link to comment
Whimsy October 4, 2017 Author Share October 4, 2017 As a reminder- this topic is for episode discussion ONLY. I know you all get bored in between episodes, but this is not a catch-all topic. If you want to talk about, for example, someone's profession- take it to that person's specific thread. 1 Link to comment

It was also creepy after a point. I like Ryan. Ben seems to be a good old boy. That is all I got. I don't have a problem with Joe calling out Mike looking for an idol. That is just as much a part of the game as looking for the idol. Anything that paints a larger target on someone else is fair game. People should not be surprised that someone is looking for an idol. I don't think it is shady but I have no problem with someone selling it as shady. Target painting is legit. All Mike had to do was say he was looking for an idol because it could help him if he found it. There is not reason to hide what he was doing. Hell, he could have said it would help Joe if they were in an alliance together. By trying to avoid the accusation, Mike makes him look shady and like he is hiding something. Seriously, the fact that people have not yet figured out that you say "Yes, I was looking for the idol. So is every person who goes off on their own and is gone more then 5 minutes. What about it?" Joe and others are able to paint a target on someone because they are able to convince people that it is shady. So turn it around on them. If you act like it is ok and project that you are not worried that they know you are looking, it is going to be perceived as game play and not as being shady. Perception matters, you can help control that perception. Joe played a legit strategy. Mike fumbled his response. That is on Mike, not Joe. Although, I don't like Joe. His comments about how he is going to play and his job suck. 2 Link to comment
Special K October 4, 2017 Share October 4, 2017 Mike should totally have just said, "Great, let's look together, four eyes are better than two" or something like that. Disarm the asshole. 4 Link to comment

I get surveys emailed to me throughout the season about what I like and don't like. I'm constantly telling them: I don't want to see returning players, I want to see challenges that actually have to do with survival, there are too many immunity idols, and I hate the "dumb themes." My comments don't seemed to have changed anything; however, I'm only one of a large research group. I have no idea if everyone else is praising the things I hate. 4 Link to comment
Hanahope October 6, 2017 Share October 6, 2017 So on Rob Had a Pod Cast, when he was talking with Josh Wigler, who was on site during the filming of the first episode. Josh reported that when Chrissy vomited after the challenge, it was also after both of the other teams had left the area, so Ryan didn't give the idol to Chrissy because he saw her vomit and thought she might be voted out because of it. Just an example of how editing tells, or at least suggests, a different story than what actually occured. 2 Link to comment

And every time they showed her I was trying to figure out who exactly she strongly resembles. I'm not sure if it's someone on TV or in my life or even from Survivor. Anyone? Maybe it's Dawn Meehan now that I look again. There's someone else, too, and I can't put my finger on it. I see Willem Dafoe. 2 Link to comment
