GHScorpiosRule July 9, 2017 Share July 9, 2017 (edited) Aside from the awesome character of Shoop in Summer School, Harmon has a plethora of roles from 240-Robert to the dastardly bastard in Flamingo Road not to mention the AIDS ridden doctor in St. Elsewhere. But...but...BUT!!! How could I forget that he appeared on The Love Boat! As a Fucking go-for??? Sporting a porno 'stache??!!!??? It didn't detract from his looks, and that the woman he's in love with is boinking their boss is bad enough, but said boss is FUGLY.??I'm sure idiot woman will dump boss for whatever, but he DESERVED so much better!? GHScorpiosRule September 9, 2017 Author Share September 9, 2017 (edited) Love him or hate him, but a good number of actors who were cast in this show, originally appeared on JAG first, and that was due to Bellisario. How could I forget that Fornell Spano appeared as a CO of a pilot in Italy, charged with manslaighter; Sean Murray-first as a Ensign charged with rape (he was innocent-"Innocence"), then as the jealous pothead son of the doctor Chegwidden was dating. In that same episode was Muse Watson, who played Murray's CO (or is that XO?)-an Admiral. A number of writers and directors transferred over. And of course his children!? And Bellisario himself in the third season ender as a friend of Harm's stepfather, who gave Harm money in Russia to buy a mig to find his father. And his name? Hugh Blackadder!????? Wonder if he gave that name to Robin Lively in this show's backdoor pilot because he loved the name! Which bums me out that DJE and Catherine Bell didn't appear!!! hrkelley September 16, 2017 Share September 16, 2017 I always wanted to see Tony reference a movie staring Mark Harmon. I did see an episode of Adam 12 where Harmon played a bumbling rookie cop named Gus who at one point dropped his gun during a chase. Which I found hilarious because in season 1 episode 22. "Split Decision" when Abby was working up an ID for Gibbs he said "Anything but Gus". (of course Gus was the name Tony used in his backstopped ID) 2 Link to comment

Summer School would have been a good one! And Tony sort of referenced a movie- I forgot the episode, but it was where Tony told someone that someone messed with "Superman's cape" meaning Gibbs. Harmon had provided the voice of Supes in the most recent Justice League animated straight to home dvd. Link to comment

In a similar vein my favorite line of the entire show was when someone asked Gibbs what a young Ducky looked like and he said "Ilya Kuriakin," a reference to the role David McCallum played on the show The Man From U.N.C.L.E. 7 Link to comment

If anything his "officer presence" to use a term Malloy did when holding suspects at bay with an empty weapon was a call back to that first season episode of Adam-12 when Reed was the boot and not helping train the new boot Gus. betsyboo December 10, 2017 Share December 10, 2017 I apologize if this has already been discussed elsewhere, but I thought this was the best place to post this. I have always been a devoted West Wing fan and have finally given up enough bad television to catch up on The West Wing Weekly podcast. (Which is divine as a whole if you are even a person who just enjoyed TWW.) anyway I just finished listening to an interview with MH about his role as Secret Service agent Simon Donovan. He was so so so so so kind (clearly not a surprise) and so thrilled to talk about his time there. His love for Allison Janney could not be contained. It’s a great listen. SPOILER: if you ever think you are going to watch TWW then don’t listen because it discusses the outcome for his character. Even if you’ve never watched, still worth it for his soothing voice!! If you want to skip to just him - FF to the 41:00 mark. https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-west-wing-weekly/id1093364587?mt=2&i=1000391903433 1 Link to comment

Ohmo May 24, 2018 Share May 24, 2018 Jump in the wayback machine with me if you're interested in seeing the opening credits from Reasonable Doubts. Magnumfangirl May 24, 2018 Share May 24, 2018 I loved Reasonable Doubts. I'm still mad at NBC for cancelling it and I've been waiting for a DVD release forever! You'd think it would have gotten a release when NCIS and Harmon were at their height of popularity. 2 Link to comment

I didn't know about YouTube, but I really wish the rights could be worked out so a streaming service could have it. Then the quality might be somewhat better. YouTube can be dicey. If a streaming service got the rights, I would so binge the crap out of this. Mark is still looking good now, but he was in the prime of HAWTness back then. Plus, he and Marlee had mad chemistry as Tess and Dickie. I also liked the man who served as Tess's courtroom interpreter, and there was a quirky judge whom I thought was cool. I know that licensing is a big deal and I don't wish to deprive anyone of his/her money, but technology exists to stream content, and it's annoying when the monetary issues can't be worked out. 1 Link to comment
Pyanfar May 25, 2018 Share May 25, 2018 I agree; I'd love to be able to see cleaner copies of Reasonable Doubts. What I think is interesting is how many RD cast members and guest stars have made appearances on NCIS. 1 Link to comment

That reminds me of "Bait," one of the early episodes when the audience learned that Gibbs knew sign language. It wasn't explained how Gibbs learned to sign, so fans came up with the "logical" TV land answer (and Reasonable Doubts reference): Tess taught it to Dickie. I bet over the course of RD, Mark did actually learn some sign language from Marlee, as well as from other experts who were probably on set. Link to comment
slothgirl May 25, 2018 Share May 25, 2018 Looked at MH's IMDB page to see what all he'd been in. Didn't know he'd been the hearthrob in Goliath Awaits (because who really knew who MH was way back then?) Googled GA and found it on You Tube... yep the whole movie. Got sucked into watching it last night until 3AM. The internet is a dangerous rabbit hole. There was a scene where he jumped on a table to make an announcment and it sounded and played JUST LIKE "Listen up everybody... we've opened a package containing a white powder". OR was it "Listen up everybody... our #1 most wanted.. Go!" For most of the rest of it he was over-acting in completely Non-Gibbs fashion, but there were glimpses. He was basically the weakest link in the cast, obviously cast for "pretty" rather than skill. Link to comment
Driad May 26, 2018 Share May 26, 2018 I became truly aware of Mark Harmon in his guest arc on The West Wing as an agent guarding CJ Cregg. That's why I have suggested that Allison Janney could come fetch him in the series finale. After all, she's a redhead. 3 Link to comment

Dr.OO7 June 19, 2018 Share June 19, 2018 (edited) Weatherly's first acting role was as one of Theo's college roommates/classmates on "The Cosby Show", but the one that made him famous was that of Cooper Alden on the soap opera "Loving". When I first started watching the show, I kept wondering how I knew him. Then for some reason, Tony put on a pair of glasses and it clicked instantly. (He wore them when he played Cooper). GalvDuck July 17, 2018 Share July 17, 2018 Some of my favorites - Mark Harmon as Ted Bundy in "The Deliberate Stranger" (along with his role in "St. Elswhere.") Joe Spano as Detective Corso in the short-lived Patty Duke series "Amazing Grace" Lauren Holly as Officer Maxine Stewart in "Picket Fences" David Callum as Dr. Joseph Bloom in "VR5" 1 Link to comment

He scared the hell out of HIMSELF by how good a job he did playing such a psycho. He gives an equally scary performance as Thomas Capano in "And Never Let Her Go". It's funny how such a nice guy whose built his career on playing good guys gave his best performances playing murderous bastards. 4 Link to comment
scorpio1031 July 18, 2018 Share July 18, 2018 When they were showing The Streets of San Francisco on MeTv, Joe Spano was a bad guy on an episode with a full head of hair. This was over 40 years ago, so he was just a young un:) And of course, I liked Mark H on 240 Robert, Emergency for the one episode and all episodes of Battle of the Network Stars that he appears in. 1 Link to comment
slothgirl July 22, 2018 Share July 22, 2018 I just saw an ad for an episode of Mom (with Allison Janney who we all want to see Gibbs ride off into the sunset with) showing Dornegut in some role. I ahven't watched the show so I don't know if it's a guest role or recurring Link to comment
Aliconehead July 23, 2018 Share July 23, 2018 Dornegut plays the former son in law of Allison Janney’s character. He is the father of one of the kids. In early seasons he was more regular but now he is more of a recurring guest star Link to comment
Dr.OO7 August 17, 2018 Share August 17, 2018 I was rewatching a TV movie from the early '90's, "The Great Los Angeles Earthquake", and who should be there as a Jerkass supervisor but Agent Fornell! He gets electrocuted trying to escape, and adding insult to injury, a ton of debris falls on him as if to make sure he's really dead. 1 Link to comment
anna0852 August 29, 2018 Share August 29, 2018 Apparently Michael and Cote are producing a crime drama together for CBS. Whatever it was that caused her abrupt departure from NCIS, this shows it wasn't her working relationship with MW. 4 Link to comment

Callietwo October 23, 2020 Share October 23, 2020 So.. I'm watching Hocus Pocus today for the very first time and I see a name that is familiar.. the show starts and yep, there he is as a young teen of 16. Come here to search the forum to see if this is ever discussed because how the heck did I miss this? But nothing! So, Sean Murray played Thackery Binx in the Movie Hocus Pocus and was even nominated for an award for the role– Young Artist Award for Best Youth Actor Leading Role in a Motion Picture Comedy. I'm surprised this didn't come up for conversation as Hocus Pocus seems like such a beloved movie. Given it's continued growth in popularity year to year, I sure hope his manager did right by him for royalties. (I posted this 1) in the wrong forum earlier today and moved it here once I realized and 2) prior to seeing he was barely in the movie.. he was good for the few minutes he was in but how did that little bit of screen time garner the award??) stonehaven May 8, 2022 Share May 8, 2022 Caught the last minute of a Touched By An Angel rerun and saw Sean Murray as an Olympic skier. That threw me. Now I gotta watch the whole episode. 1 Link to comment
Linderhill May 9, 2022 Share May 9, 2022 over the last weekend I was subjected to my sister's obsession with the Hallmark channel. blackwing May 9, 2022 Share May 9, 2022 I saw an article saying Wilmer Valderamma has been cast as Zorro in a new Zorro series that will air on Disney Plus. Interesting. I think this guy is a terrible actor but if this Zorro show makes him quit NCIS then I may start watching NCIS regularly. 2 Link to comment
