Arya's face is priceless.

I just thought, maybe it's better than a dragon. Maybe she's seeing Jon on a dragon. Maybe Jon & Arya's reunion will be the first scene of S8.

(Damn HBO, got me hyped with 4 seconds of footage).

I think she's going to be more positive about Dany than I even imagined.

I would say definitely given that smile. It is striking in contrast with the people behind her running in fear. Safe to say this is Dany's arrival at Winterfell.

It's so fake it isn't even funny to read. After months of fleaks, can't they get smarter and try to be even slightly believable?

Real extras don't have info about the plot in general. They don't know anything about the scenes they aren't in. They don't even know everything about the scenes they're in but for what they are/have to do, and it's on movie sets where the info is less protected than on GoT.

There's an "extra" who posted before about the battle of WF and this one at least gave believable info, who he was supposed to play, what he wore, what he saw. Period.

The only salt I see here comes from some character stan who began to realize they won't get what they want.

45 days of pathetic trolling left, sigh.

I think all the drama around the Lads leaks last time was inevitably going to make the lead up to this season less interesting by comparison.

HBO has released poster images for the season, all featuring cast members seated on the throne.  You get a look at more new costumes, including what I’m assuming is Sansa’s reported armour (a dress which looks like some of Dany’s scaley dresses or the Tully fish-style armour).

I really wish there was more variety in the colour palette, but that ship has long since sailed.

EDIT:  I think Grey Worm has the best pose.

Looks like Sansa is going to be fishy this year and embracing her Tully side - those scales on her dress mirror the ones Edmure and the Blackfish wore on their armor. Considering Edmure and SweetRobin are back in the game, it's going to be interesting to see what happens there.  I am not sure how protective that dress is going to be in battle though. Looks glittery and nice.

Jon and Arya mirroring season one Ned on the Iron Throne. Sam looking very Northern there. Theon looks handsome and has a sword. Bran looks like an old wise man.

Gendry is not deemed worthy of a poster while Grey Worm is. I guess GreWorm is the more important character.

They all look so angry - with Tyrion being the most pissed off. He looks about ready to murder someone. Some bad photo shop work here.

Characters not included in the pics:

Gendry, Tormund, Gilly, Mira, Beric, The Mountain, Qyburn, Edd, Edmure, Sweet Robin

The most sad omission to me is Gendry.  :(

I overall love these because of the season 1 callback.  Jon looks amazing.  So do Dany & Sansa.  Sam looks adorably out of place.  Jamie also looks a little out of place too.

Sansa’s dress minus a few inches looks like something to wear to go clubbing. Looks like PVC.

To be fair to Grey Worm, he’s been a constant presence since S3, while Gendry’s been absent for the better part of four seasons.

Jaime looks exhausted to me.

Tyrion is going full Old Luke in these photos.

No Little Sam on the throne? Wuuuut? (unless he's the NK, of course). Ghost forgotten again, pfsh.

I'd have liked to see Gendry there, but I'll take alive and well at the end over a promo campaign (not that the two are mutually exclusive). I do find his absence puzzling because if they wanted to throw scents off, they just had to wake up the "Cersei's son" and "Robert's son" crowds LOL.

OTOH, I'm very annoyed by Yara's absence. She's one of the Queens and if Frikidoctor is to be believed, she survives. She has more of a right to be there than Theon, if you ask me.

No Bronn, either. Well, he's not going to get that big of a castle if he lives. And no Lyanna Mormont? *riots*

But I do think it comes down to question of contracts, main, recurring, guest, etc.

I had strange reactions to some of those pictures, some not at all what I expected. Of course I rolled my eyes at the Hound because that's so not him, for example, I hoped that the NK never happens, I rejected Melisandre because I've been wanting Arya to gouge her eyes out for many seasons now etc. However seeing Sam, Missandei, Varys or Greyworm there somehow annoyed me, whereas I like or love them; I even thought that Varys could make a good leader, but I completely rejected the image of him on the throne (thankfully Littlefinger is dead because I'd have virtually puked, like I did seeing YuckEuron on that damn chair). The throne looked good on Davos, and my favorite was... Jorah, who isn't qualified at all either, but looked all kinds of hot *shallow*. Even hotter than Jaime.

Arya seemed to me more like a judge on her chair, which I loved of course. Gwen looks so very regal, I didn't even find Brienne ridiculous, whereas she's for me in the same category as the Hound. But definitely, Jon and Dany are the ones who belong there for me.

These aren't high quality images, but my first impression of Sansa's new dress is positive. If she has to stay black, I'm glad she's going a bit Tully with the scale look. I thought the show would just forget about Edmure and even Robin, so I'm curious to see how they return.

Why doesn't Jamie have a sword? I really expected him to be holding Widow's Wail.

I don't mind seeing a bunch of characters on the throne that have no business being there, like Sandor, Davos, Grey Worm, Missandei, Melisandre and so on. It's a nice callback to the S1 teaser that had various non-monarch characters like Catelyn and Littlefinger sitting on the throne.

Also, it's a nice testament to the contributions the non-lead actors have made over the course of the show to feature them on the final season promotional posters. Supporting actors like Iain Glen, Jacob Anderson, Nathalie Emmanuel, Liam Cunningham, and Carice van Houten have played an important part in the show's success for many years. Give them their damn posters.

I was hoping for a little bit more color.

Sansa's doesn't look like scale, more like stones, but the quality isn't good with this link.

James Hibberd confirmed that this dress is the "armour" dress Sophie was talking about, but Sansa's dress really doesn't look like armour to me. I assume Michele Clapton was doing a visual callback to the Tully scale armour, since she often incorporates "scale" patterns into Sansa's clothing, but it doesn't look like that, either. The fabric doesn't really look like fish scales or bird feathers. It looks like she's wearing a tailored, enormous crocodile purse. It's not exactly impressive, much less armour.

If they were going for an "armour"-type or even a "warrior of Winterfell" look, it would have made a lot more sense for Sansa to wear a version of the leather tunic/skirt outfit the Northern ladies like Arya and Lyanna Mormont wear: functional, easy to move in, elegant, very Northern. This is about as far from "warrior" attire as you can get. For crying out loud, she's not even wearing pants. Even Dany wears pants.

I especially love Jon's poster.  It's less broody and more taking names.

I agree. He looks fierce! (As does Greyworm.)

Davos looks uncomfortable, happier being the Hand than being the King.

I think it's supposed to resemble the armor that these guys are wearing - only, it's more fashionable...

She even has a little fish shaped belt buckle.

Maybe Sophie thinks it is the female version of what these guys are wearing. I think she said it's made of black leather? Hardly armor material.

Sansa is probably just going to be walking around looking like a mermaid. I doubt she's going to be an actual warrior. That would be just too silly.

When I zoomed the higher resolution version, it also looks like  tail feathers.

Sansa isn't a "physical " warrior, but the term is used in other forms. Bran won't be a physical warrior, he will do mental warfare with the NK, as an example.

You’re forgetting that the audience doesn’t know if she’s still alive, so that would be a spoiler.

I think it's supposed to be a Tully armour reference, but it doesn't really look like that to me. It really does look reptilian.

From a character perspective, it's interesting that this battle dress almost seems to show Sansa going full Tully without even any Northern furs, with only the leather straps as any sort of nod to her Northern heritage.

It's just so impractical. Even Cersei's Blackwater metal corset worn over a regular gown--which was intended to look a little silly, I think--made more sense than wearing a full-on alligator dress that offers nothing in the way of protection and isn't any easier to move in. Maybe it's intended to look ridiculous, I dunno.

Hibberd described this outfit as Sansa's "battle dress," so it seems to be the equivalent of Cersei's Blackwater dress. I really would have preferred Sansa wearing a Northern lady-type outfit or even something closer to what Cersei wore for the Blackwater battle: one of her regular dresses with armour-type accents. Oh, well.

Heh, Sophie said she hated wearing those big furs, so maybe she insisted.

As far as the audience knows she's a prisoner and alive, since Theon is on his way to rescue her.

It isn't like Beric and Tormund who effectively ended the episode with their lives in the balance, literally on a wallcliffhanger.

The last the audience saw her, several episodes ago, she was the prisoner of a murderous madman who was in direct competition to her for the Ironborn throne and who had plenty of time to kill her/maim her. Theon hopes she’s alive, but he doesn’t know it. It’s silly to get mad at the marketing campaign for not giving away a spoiler.

The last time she was mentioned was in 7x07 and Euron threatened to kill her, so it's implied she's alive.

"Maimed" isn't "killed". I do think unfortunately that she'll be in a sad state when Theon finds her (again, if Friki is right but Gemma Whelan was in Seville and not in plain sight so I think she indeed filmed there) but both Theon and Jaime were maimed and it didn't prevent them from having a poster.

Since GRRM has stated that several people will occupy the Iron Throne before the books are done (assuming that ever happens), it's a fair bet that Euron will seize the throne at some point in the Books. The show will doubtless have less* (well, they cut FAegon entirely) but I can see him usurping Cersei as King (probably briefly).

I can't help but still hope that Obelix the Viking will be dead by episode 2. It seems that a sea battle was filmed for early in the season. At one point during filming, word was that Cersei was deposed as of 8x04, but I don't think it has been confirmed. They have built her as the main human antagonist so I wonder if on the show, they will bother put somebody else's ass on the throne.

So we think the trailer should drop this week right?  Its 6 weeks out from season 8 starting.

Main word on Freefolk is "March the 5th". Is it legit? Answer in two days. Unless something drops before.

Well, it has to drop at some point in the near future. March 5th makes as much sense as anything. We're past the point relative to the premiere when the first trailers dropped in previous seasons.

Good Morning America is promising some exclusive GOT content tomorrow. I'm guessing it isn't the trailer, but maybe something good will drop. Kit is in NYC right now, so it probably involves a Kit interview at least.

If it's another sponsored campaign...LOL, since they said "content", not "trailer". After being so stingy for weeks, it would surprise me if the PR monkeys give footage two days in a row.

Edit: It seems the content was the unveiling of the 16 EW covers (same characters as in the last campaign, except some are together on the cover: Greyworm+ Missandei, Jorah+ Varys, Theon + Uncle Fester, Melisandre + Davos; and two are a bonus: Gilly with Sam, and The Mountain with The Hound).

There's also a group picture it seems. Guess who's posing as "not so secret lovers" on it. LOL.
