Also, can you imagine Mr "you looked beautiful the night you were raped" delivering the message to Jon that he needs to kill his pregnant girlfriend/wife lol, I'm sure Bran's new lack of human emotions would make for a lovely conversation.

Actually, I can imagine RoboBran noting that Jon has taken this news rather amiss, and casually adds this with a shrug. "Or, if that bothers you, she can kill you instead. Works either way."

I think we will know premiere date in the next 5 days.

Wouldn't the premiere date logically be released with the new teaser that's supposedly coming out between the 10th and the 15th? Or do you think the premiere date will be announced before the teaser?

New snippet during an HBO commercial during the Golden Globes!

Dany walks up to Sansa in the Winterfell courtyard and Sansa says: "Winterfell is yours, your Grace."  Dany nods, looking pleased.

W0ot!

Yep, Sansa is salty! And Dany knows this from her expression, lol! Knowing the way D&D write, I am expecting a cat fight here.

Jon and Dany look good together. And Jorah escorting his queen.

The way Dany walks, with a slight hesitation, suggests there was a loud "discussion" between Sansa and Jon beforehand.

Let's hope comparing of breast size doesn't last to long.

Looks like Sansa is as good at hiding her distaste as Ned and Cat.  I guess Littlefinger never got around to that lesson.

Nobody on this show ever hides their dislike of anybody.

If anything, the show has presented openly dissing people as the mark of a great politician, for some reason.

I am also glad that Arya and Bran are not around and they are saving those Jon reunions with the rest of his siblings for later rather than in front of everyone. Though it does beg the question of why they are not there to welcome Queen Dany.

True, but if Sansa did that Danny would know it's fake, best to just get it out there and try to bridge the divide.

Tyrion is also absent from this shot, but I’m pretty sure he’s there just as Arya and Bran can be.

My speculation based on the two actual clips we have is that Sansa throws a fit about everything to Jon, who explains that they need Dany for her dragons and plus he's in love with her and she's a good person and she'll be a great queen blah blah blah.

SO THEN, Sansa decides to plaster on a fake smile and pretend she's okay with Dany, but is secretly USING HER for her dragons and as soon as Dany helps them defeat the Army of the Dead, Sansa is soooo OUT OF HERE with that.

Dany is looking a wee bit smug in the promo. I don't think that bodes well for her.

It's easy to do if you have wmd behind you.

I think that will fall quickly when WF falls on hers and Jon's watch.

Bran could easily be there, since he'd just be sitting passively in his wheelchair, but I suspect the writers will contrive to have Arya elsewhere for this scene just to stagger some of the big moments.  They could have Arya, for instance, out patrolling in the woods or something.

Would she?  Sansa could as easily present herself as somebody who is happy to get the huge army Dany is delivering, for instance, and it wouldn't be any less credible.  Moreover, it's not something she's doing in the interest of briding a divide, that's just how everybody in this show reacts to somebody they don't like/

I doubt Bran and Arya are there because from the two shots we got, it looks like Jon gets off his horse hugs Sansa and then turns around to introduce Dany to her. If Bran and Arya - two siblings that he thought were dead - were present, he would surely hug them or smile at them before turning to Dany?  I really can't see Jon just ignoring them and being nonchalant about their presence there while he interacts solely with Sansa when introducing Dany to her.

Seeing Dany in Winterfell really does drive home the point of how this show is coming to a close and how all the characters have finally come together.

I'd say it's the cut just after Sansa and Jon's hug. Relying on Brienne's face, I don't think there's an explanation between Jon and Sansa right there when he arrives: She looks worried and/or annoyed that (imo) Sansa might question Jon in public again, or insult Dany, which would be highly asinine because they arrive with dragons and an army and Brienne, for one, has seen the wight at the DragonPit.

I don't think that Dany looks smug. She looks like someone who plasters a smile on her face after she was greeted with obvious bad grace. She, at least for a second here, reacts like a smart diplomat.

Finally, we have some video clips to chat about. First, my poor Viserion, all tattered and possessed in the first shot. Second, Drogon looks huge. He is flying over the Dothraki so this is probably from last season.

Daenerys looks like she is putting on her best fake smile to be diplomatic, after Jon puts Sansa in her place and made her be polite. I don't see the Dothraki or Unsullied behind Daenerys so I wonder where Missandei, Grey Worm, her Dothraki bodyguards, and Tyrion are during this introduction. I can't imagine that they are far away. I love Daenerys' new winter coat. Jorah looks handsome. He and Lyanna Mormont will have some interesting conversations.

It could make sense that as a political signal, Jon and Dany decided she'd enter WF with him and Jorah only, because he's the one Northerner in her close circle, ahead of the rest of the party...

Could it be, then, that Arya (alerted by Ghost) couldn't wait, and went out to meet Jon? And the Jon/Arya (Jon/Ghost) meeting would have already happened when he actually arrives in the WF courtyard.

And maybe Arya was tasked to greet the rest of the party, where warm reunions (Hound, Gendry) could parallel the frosty meeting in the WF courtyard.

As for Bran, I don't know why, but I'd see him being wheeled in afterwards by Sam, who'd be mumbling: "Remember, don't drop the bomb now, don't drop the bomb now !". Poor Sam, LOL.

I could see Arya standing on a higher level, looking warily down on Jon and Dany.  After not seeing Jon for so many years, she might not feel ready to greet him and show how much "little Arya" has changed.

I am not exactly sure how D&D will write it such that Jon gets to have his private reunions  - they could come up with any number of reasons to make it so. This particular scene seems to be about these three characters - Jon, Sansa and Dany. I would expect them to get the familiar reunions out of the way - Jon/Sansa and then get to the business of the one on one intimate interactions - Sansa-Tyrion, Sansa - Hound , Arya - Hound etc. That's why it could be just these three characters meeting first and they could write it such that just the Lady of WF greets and welcomes Dany to WF while the other characters are probably busy with dealing with the aftermath of the wall falling or doing something else.

I think the opposite is true. I think Sansa's is the real fake smile. Sansa is, after all, good at disguising her feelings and putting on a fake face. I'm also not sure how Jon is going to "put Sansa in her place."

So he'll pronounce her Lady of Winterfell, then?

ETA: Now the deep, burning question: Is that Sophie's real hair, or a wig?  And is that Emilia's real hair at the top (as we saw it dyed) or a wig, and we'll see her real hair sometime after Dany decides to hack hers short?

She looks beautiful. Almost ethereal. Seriously I’m not trying to fan girl but she looks like a snow queen or ice princess.

Anyway, have you guys noticed that these two little scenes HBO have decided to show us seem almost purposely designed to hype up and send all the shippers insane and to ratchet up the Sansa/Jon//Dany conflict ? It’s manipulation at its finest. I bet it’s all bullshit and it’ll be less than one or two scenes of “ conflict” before things actually get serious and the real issues of the season start.

However, I’m just squeeeing at some actual real footage!!!! 🥰😇😇

This makes sense. Of course, the dragons flying above will shake them up a bit.

Since when has Sansa ever been good at putting on a "fake face?" She is as transparent as they come, always has been. Jon will put Sansa in her place by explaining that they need Daenerys to survive. He has bent the knee recognizing her as the rightful Queen of the Seven Kingdom and accepted the title of "Warden of the North" which means that Winterfell is indeed hers. Now, this doesn't mean that I think Dany is going to kick out the Starks or take Winterfell or anything like that.

Sophie's hair is a wig.  While she waited a while into production to dye her hair blonde again, they'd have been using the wig the whole time just for consistency.

Since she was in King's Landing. Joffrey set aside their engagement and she made no expression. She married Tyrion with nary an expression on her face. She lied to the Lords in the Vale about Lysa's death. She puts on a face, especially in public.

Jon will explain to Sansa that they need Dany's dragons. Doesn't mean she'll be "put in her place" over it. Maybe she'll pretend to be.

I agree that Dany looks great in the outfit. The red and white suit Emilia very well.

There’s at least a couple of Unsullied guards. People at Freefolk pointed one out in the upper right-hand corner so Daenerys isn’t totally alone.

I see the two people, but can't tell who they are.

We have an unsully in the upper right, and a gray bearded guy in upper center near a Stark bannerman, I thought maybe Maester Wolcom, but it doesn't look like him ( unless it's a new actor for the part )

Yeah, Sansa is NOT thrilled to see Dany. That’s a look that says “So, YOUR the chick banging my brother and acting like hot shit...not impressed...”

It’s so trippy to see Dany and her crew at Winterfell!

To dis or not to dis! That is the question! Especially when it comes to Sansa.

For example when the lords insulted Jon and praised Sansa she's like  - OMG you guys, thanks so much! You are all so kind! *blush*. When Arya confronts Sansa about this, she explains how she has to talk nicely to the Lords or else they will run off with their armies.  No dissing allowed there!

But Sansa can't seem to hide her saltiness here, even though Dany is also now a very important ally with dragons, weapons and two large armies. Perhaps the 'no dissing' rule only applies to the people who butter her up.

This scene is sort of similar to Alaric Stark inviting Alysanne Targaryen to WF in Fire and Blood.

Thank you! Sansa has always had her game face on. Even Tyrion stated, "She may win the game over all of us." She stopped stating her true feelings when she was at Kings Landing. We know she was very outspoken in S1 and changed after the death of her father.

Why is Dany wearing a cranberry colored ascot? Did she make it from an old robe of Varys?

One thing I've wondered - where exactly is she getting her fancy new duds, anyway, even back in season 7?  It's not like she can run down to the nearest shop so is someone in her crew also an expert dressmaker and designer?

Maybe she hired Sansa to sew them for her.
