Found this gossip on another site - said it came from "Tasha", who has a Youtube channel, I think, so take it as speculation, hearsay or made up for drama:

"Wendy does not have COVID. Wendy is not undergoing a psychiatric evaluation. Wendy is in rehab. They found her in her apartment, alone, in an alcohol-induced coma. They got her up and now Wendy is in a private facility recovering, once again, from alcohol and cocaine".

Well this doesn’t surprise me. Even in her bio made for TV movie she had a snippet where she admitted drinking a whole bottle of wine at night. She just fell back into old bad patterns. It amazes me how she gets away with so much. Any other host of a show would have gotten canned for being off the air more than being on. Well maybe Kelly Ripa, but her off periods are scheduled vacation time and she shows up when she is supposed to. Even when Wendy does return, I don’t think she will have her A game. That’s sadly long gone. It’s time to give her time slot to someone hungry for a show and willing to do the work. I think we all saw the writing on the wall that this was going to happen.

I love the article title "The wait is over!"  It states the "show is returning". NOT specifically Wendy...just the show. 

She certainly has a unique ability to get her "health issues" under control in a matter of days or a few weeks. Why? Because she's really not ill with covid. She's ill with drinking, drugging and chronic laziness. 

Nobody is waiting for this old, lying, fake-ass to return. 

I want to see if she addresses all of the accusations by the tabloids and also the paparazzi photos of her looking like an escapee from a psych ward. I'm going to predict she won't say a word. As usual. "All is well in Wendyville"

Tasha K knows what she is talking about for the most part.   Wendy once said at the height of her cocaine addiction, she used to get off the highway, snort coke and keep on driving to her destination..

I was just thinking about all of the controversies/issues that Wendy has had the last 4-5 years -- in no particular order:  a cheating husband, side baby, denying her marriage was in trouble, mysterious broken arm, fainting on the job, messy divorce, a stay in rehab, failed comedy tour, failed foundation, seeming to be inebriated during the show, fighting with her brother, son punching his father, looking crazy while broadcasting from her apartment, son going into rehab, no more selling crap on HSN, losing her mother, on-air boyfriend search, breakup with said BF, new BF over the summer, recently looking like a mental patient in socks... whew!   

Out of all of the people who have hosted talk shows, I could not think of one who has had anything near the shenanigans that follow Ms. Williams.  The only one that I could think of that has side-eye worthy things is Jerry Springer, who had some legal trouble way back when because he paid an escort with a check when he was a running for governor in the 80's.  It's amazing that she had this much controversy and still manages to keep a getting signed to new contracts.  I wish I could bet on whether she makes it back on 10/04 - the odds seem against it.   However, I love a hot steaming messy mess so I'll be tuning in to see.

Maybe 3-4 years ago, Wendy announced that she was doing a comedy tour during the summer hiatus, which was basically her traveling around to clubs and local comics would come onstage and do their acts, while Wendy acted as host/emcee.  I guess putting her name on it was supposed to bring in the crowds, but I heard that it bombed.  Audiences full of empty chairs and it was scratched.  SIDENOTE:  I actually went to a WW hosted comedy show back when she was still on the radio.   It was in the basement of a NYC club and some low-level local comics did their acts.   Wendy came up and introduced each guy, then sat in a corner with Kevin, drinking, then they left after the last comic was mid-act.

She had a foundation with her ex-husband - the Hunter Foundation, which was to help people who had drug issues.  After her divorce, the foundation just... faded away.  If she really wanted to help people, she could have continued the foundation in her name only but the rumor was that it was a "front" for getting grants and donations and Kevin wasn't doing the right thing with the funds.   This reminded me... I'm pretty sure that Wendy also sponsored a summer camp for girls/kids for a while.  Not sure if that's still active.

Wendy had a clothing line that she sold on either HSN or QVC - she would sit in her chair and describe her outfit, which you could buy!!!! for some inflated price.  I remember checking some shoes she was pushing - little ballerina slippers with ostrich feather poufs for something like $80 bucks.   They looked like Payless shoes.   Suddenly, Wendy was no longer pushing her merch so I presumed the shopping channel dropped her.

Sorry Patty for repeating some of your post. I was typing at the same time as you! However I'm posting my 2 cents worth anyway 😊

The Hunter Foundation. As in Kelvin Hunter and Mrs. Wendy Hunter. It was one of the first dissolutions of partnership (for lack of a better term) when the divorce procedures started.

The Hunter Foundation was a program for at risk teen age girls from poor backgrounds. They sent them to summer camp or something like that. The Hunter Foundation also started a rehab program for drug addicts and THAT happened almost immediately AFTER Wendy's last drug/drinking debacle. When the divorce shit hit the fan. Then the Hunter Foundation was no more. 

So sad for the addicts who thought they might get help thru this "Foundation." 

As far as Wendy's comedy tour. It probably sucked. And she's lazy. Too much work. I recall that she did her entire comedy act sitting in a chair! Bitch was too lazy to walk the stage and engage with her paying audience.

This what I'd love the first day back to look like:   Wendy comes out to no audience, no Suzanne kissing ass, and walks over to the chair.  She silently pulls over a box of tissues and some Q-Tips and just starts talking.  She spills all her crap, cries, hyperventilates, calls to Jesus, whatever but lets it ALL OUT.   Her drug use, alcohol, rehab, looking homeless in a wheelchair, how her illnesses are impacting her life, the boyfriend(s), loneliness, rage at ex-husband, lack of friends, making bad choices, what she wants for her future, how she wants to be treated by people.   

It would be so cathartic and I think she'd get so much sympathy.   The only downside is how could then come on the next day and start making fun of celebrities again.  

ADDED:    Depending on whether the staff is getting paid while they wait around to see if Wendy ever skips over to the purple chair again, I can only imagine how much Suzanne and Norman are cursing her name if her crap is stopping them from earning a paycheck.

All of the people who got tickets for the first 2-3 weeks in October are screwed too.

I wonder if Suzanne's husband still works there. You'd think that they wouldn't want both of their incomes to be dependent on Wendy's show, especially the way it's been going for the last couple of years.

I think they are afraid to start the new season and then have to go "on hold" again after a week or two.

I don't know who her paying advertisers are at this point but they are fools.

Watching the movie last night made me feel sorry for her.  The failing marriage was the cause of her failure.  Seems like Kevin did everything.  Then the girlfriend, which she accepted, sort of, then the baby which put her over the edge.  Baby was the clincher, and I could understand that.  Being alone after the divorce was a bad idea.  She should have retired, went to Florida and be with her family.  New York alone is a lonely place, especially when you don’t want to keep up friendships or entertain.  Her career, Big Kev and little Kev were her life.  I doubt she could make a comeback.  Maybe back to radio in Florida?

Well she was just awful the last two months of the show, the cruelty she showed to her DJ and the audience, Suzanne, Norman, and the way she handled her mother's death.

Wendy was always awful and mean to people and her cruelty was at it's peak before she went on hiatus.

At this point I don't see how she should have a show anymore.  She no longer is an authority on gossip or hot topics. Her hot topics is all Housewives when the number one show on Sunday besides Football when it's in season  is 90 Day Fiance.

I don't think she will come back and if she does it probably won't last for long. 

Wendy is unrelatable at this point, I don't see why anyone would bother to listen to her takes on a podcast and she would have all the facts wrong.  If she wasn't rich she would be homeless at this point.

Ok. Wait. So, in the last 2 days the show released a teaser for the delayed premiere on Oct. 4th. Then, apparently they had an audience with tickets lined up outside the studio for 2 hours, waivers signed, Covid tests done, when someone from the show told them the taping was canceled. Apparently, they were going to do a pre-taping of Wendy's show instead of going live. Later they pushed back the premiere to Oct. 18th. A Mess!

Since Wendy started getting...  unreliable the last 3-4 years, I always wondered why they continued to do the show live when it was a crapshoot if she would be lucid and handling her business, or not really camera ready and looking out of it.  Maybe somebody finally woke up and realized that pre-taping is a way to keep on top of what goes out on the air.

Good point. But WHO wants to go to all of that extra trouble just to keep an already failing show on air?  It must be, by now, obvious to the producers/advertisers that we (the viewers) have figured out Wendy is a mess and needs to give up her purple throne. The one she has farted on many times. Not to mention the laundry list of others she's treated like shit. From her audience, her guests, her "celebrity" guests, her employees and her "at home" viewers. 

And I'm so over the excuses about the divorce, the mistress, the baby, lymphedema, Graves disease, Covid, no not Covid, mental breakdown.

This biatch has a damn good life. Money, a kid that allegedly loves her, excellent healthcare, idiot fans who still support her, family that loves her, a future with many opportunities most of us will never know. So I have zero sympathy for her.

I guess.  You are right.  I can’t understand why the station and sponsors didn’t dump her long ago.  They keep giving her a pass.  Why is that, I wonder?  Apparently, here in New York loves her for some reason.  Who knows.  The fans in the audience look scrubby.  Not like Kelly Ripas audience, who look more polished.

The Wendy Williams Show:   30 minutes of Show,  30 minutes of slurping tea.   I’ve never seen anyone like her.  News commentators, Day and Nitetime hosts talk without interruptions and drink nothing.  Wendy talks 3 minutes straight, then slurps tea another 2 minutes, then burps.

One more week until her return.  Whether it's Wendy's people or the show runners, I've seen/heard zero word about her in the last 7-10 days and my speculation is they're making sure to keep a low profile as the premiere date looms closer. I'm sure they want to suppress any further negative press to get out so close to the big day.

The bitch side of me is waiting for a new, messy tabloid story or pic to pop up with more train wreck material.

The only reason I can think of is that they haven't found anybody to fill her time slot. I saw some talk about Nick Cannon but I don't think he will be successful at it. Every day 5 days a week of Nick. No thanks. These talk shows aren't so popular anymore. I would rather watch ID channel True Crime shows every day!
