CaioF March 28, 2017 Share March 28, 2017 Quote Im verrrrrrrry disappointed Farrah didn't do the tearaway. With the way she fiddled with the robe you could tell something was under there, and it was a lot of look. I'm sad it only saw the light of day on untucked IKR? What a waste! But again, the feedback Gaga gave to her should be applied by all queens: listen to your guts and dont second guess yourself! I would also add: Don´t let Ru Pauls plant doubts in your head during his visit on the workroom, dont take producers advices, let the judges critics get into your head. Link to comment
Dirtybubble March 28, 2017 Share March 28, 2017 Well I don't know what to think yet. This episode was Lady Gaga with 13 backup queens. So much focus was on Gaga and so little was on the other queens that I feel a bit......cheated, let down. I like Gaga I really do and thought she was great in this episode but I'm looking forward to the season actually beginning and getting to know these queens. 5 Link to comment
buttercupia March 28, 2017 Share March 28, 2017 i'm not anxious to pass judgement on anyone yet, it's far too soon. plus we got so little workroom interaction. this episode was focused on Gaga, correctly, and any assessment is going to be incomplete and preliminary. that being said, i was very impressed with nina, charlie, sasha, alexis, and eureka. nina stood out to me the most. incredible talent. look up her season 8 audition tape on you tube. it is mind blowing. i can understand why ru held her back for this season. putting her in with bob, acid betty, and kim chi would have been unfair. unimpressed so far with trinity. she doesn't really bring anything new or memorable. aja and kimora failed to live up to their hype. kimora looks a mess close up and aja needs serious help with her makeup, yikes. kimora's performance was seriously underwhelming too; aja did a bit better there. disappointed in jaymes. i wanted to like her, i was rooting for her, she has so much potential, but ugh. total fail this week. farrah is adorable but risks falling into the kenya michaels toddlers and tiaras drag category. peppermint is very likeable and promising. same for valentina. shea could go either way. overall this season holds a ton of talent and a ton of promise. 3 Link to comment

hatchetgirl March 28, 2017 Share March 28, 2017 I thought Gaga was a good start for a new season, but where mama Ru, glammed to die? The 52 yr old queen looks good for sure, but this 50 yr old can tell you there are nips and tucks on that queen! 3 Link to comment

I must say I LOL'd when her first talking head was her boy self just before she made her work room debut, AND the the queens' reactions when they slowly realized who had actually walked in. That TH was cute, especially since her Nick(?) from New Jersey was construction worker butch and supposed to be a drag queen ha! I was like come on Gaga, you should know better...maybe it would've been towing the line of offensiveness if she played the boy persona as an effeminate gay man. Count me in with the underwhelmed crowd. But even underwhelming RPDR is still compelling to watch. Loving Nina though. 2 Link to comment

It seemed more like she was playing a drag king character there, I enjoyed it even though it didn't make much sense, haha :) And her "boy name" was Ronnie, which I thought she should have gone with Stefano. 3 Link to comment

His skin is so tight it looks like it's gonna snap. In fact I'm kinda surprised how many queens this season (I think ALL the queens) have had some sort of work. Lip injections, butt fillers, cheekbone implants, fix-a-flat pumped into their faces good LAWD all that silicon! Its a bit frightening how popular that's become in queens who are mere 30. IMHO it may look good while in drag but it makes them look a little scary out of drag. 3 Link to comment

She do love a kimono, but not as much as those queens seemed to imply. You're right, thanks. I got mixed up because of Derrick Barry, who was a Britney impersonator. Overall, I don't see anyone this season who's the equal of Kim Chi or Bob, but we'll see. Link to comment
Koalagirl March 29, 2017 Share March 29, 2017 Ugh do we really need that trio of Wendy Williams, Ross and I don't remember her name? Those segments add nothing to the show and take away from additional time we could be spending with the "ladies." 3 Link to comment
BloggerAloud March 29, 2017 Share March 29, 2017 I'm not going to go too hard on the queens for their makeup because they always point out after they've been on the show about how beating your face for a gig vs. beating your face for a TV show are so wildly different. 1 Link to comment

And have the audience just stand there around the stage/runway just looks weird. If you must do this have a separate show a'la Chris Hardwick on the Talking Dead or Chris Harrison on After the Rose. 2 Link to comment

WhineandCheez March 30, 2017 Share March 30, 2017 (edited) LOVED the episode. However....this is some of the worst makeup I've ever seen. Magnolia Crawford is going, "Whew, that was baaad." Can anyone from Brooklyn tell me if Aja really is the hottest thing there, or was Milk II just being her PR girl. Because that makeup was ROUGH. Also there are really bad acne scars in this bunch too. Jaymes Mansfield--nerves or Xanax?? Edited March 30, 2017 by WhineandCheez 3 Link to comment
Cosmic Muffin March 30, 2017 Share March 30, 2017 I'm glad to see the protest against Wendy Williams hosting the commentary on the show (which is just annoying in itself) is gaining traction. I suspect she'll be there tomorrow, but maybe if the protest continues she'll be removed. I hope so, anyway. 3 Link to comment

I'm not seeing the big deal with Aja either; she's obviously going for fishy beauty but idk her makeup is just so......sloppy. I clocked the acne scars as well. Which is normally cool, we all have skin issues, but you gotta blend and conture that stuff and not just cake it on. No free pass from me on beating your mug for TV vs. clubs. You know your gonna be on TV, practice your painting. Link to comment
Julie Firestone March 30, 2017 Share March 30, 2017 I finally got around to watching Untucked and, oh my god, Gaga was so awesome. Yes, she really did give the queens a master class, I was so touched and impressed. I gained a whole new level of respect for Gaga. Alexis Michelle looks like Sharon Lawrence, and I am digging it. Finally, HD and drag are not friends. 1 Link to comment
DollEyes March 31, 2017 Share March 31, 2017 My verdict: loved it. No tea, no shade, no pink lemonade, this was a great Season Premiere. It had the good, the bad and the Gaga. Speaking of whom, if I wasn't already a "Little Monster," this episode and Untucked would have made me one. Lady Gaga was stunning, whether it was her workroom drag, her judges' eleganza or her "Ronnie" look. As a judge, Gaga not only praised the queens, she gave constructive criticism both on the runway and on Untucked and she told the best stories about the Gaga-inspired looks. Gaga was arguably the best Guest Judge in RPDR her-story. My Top 3 were Shea Coulee, Valentina and Nina Bo'nina Brown. Shea Coulee's Chicago drag was hilarious and her Gaga drag was gorgeous. That the original Gaga gown was designed by the late Jim Henson and the wig is called "urine yellow" made it even better. Next, Valentina, who may be a baby queen in terms of experience, but her drag says otherwise. Valentina's workroom look was glamorous, her mariachi realness local look was fabulous and her Gaga look was strong. Nina Bo'nina Banana Fo-fana Osama Bin Laden Brown is everything! Her workroom look wasn't "mousy' ( pun intended), her local look was peachy ( pun intended, again) and her Gaga look was fire. Nina's local look alone proves that a queen doesn't always need lots of money to be fierce, just construction paper, glue, makeup and attitude. My Bottom 3 were Kimora Blac, Aja and Jaymes Mansfield. Kimora's problem is that she's both too much (too much hair, too much makeup and way too much ass) and not enough, as in not enough polish. Kimora's workroom, local and Gaga looks were basic, like her local look. Since Kimora's from Vegas, she should have dressed like a showgirl all the way, not just slap a pitiful feather-duster headdress on top of her tired workroom look. Aja, or "Bla-ja," as I'll call her, is just, well, blah. Her Gaga look was nice, but her other two looks were nothing special and her makeup? Two words: "Bus-ted." In fairness, one could say the same about Shea's makeup, but as her two runway looks proved, she's got a much better aesthetic than Bla-ja. As for Jaymes Mansfield, please. She's in so over her head she'll need scuba gear to survive. Jaymes may think she's a comedy queen, but she doesn't even belong in the same book as Bianca Del Rio, Bob the Drag Queen or Pandora Boxx, let alone the same sentence. And Jaymes puppet is no L'il Poundcake. Jaymes' workroom and Gaga looks were bad enough, but her local look was the worst. Instead of wearing just cow print, Jaymes should have worn a cute little milk maid outfit with platform boots in tribute to WI's large German community, had a purse that looked like a block of cheese or made of crushed beer cans or a cheese head fascinator, as a shout-out to the Green Bay Packers. I think Jaymes will and should be the first to go. As for the returning queen, my vote: anybody but Shangela. Make room on the Wendy Williams Hate Train for me. She's an idiot and a transphobic one, at that. VH-1 could have found plenty of people who, even on their worst day, are much better than her. 2 Link to comment

And creativity! Unfortunately, some queens we've seen on this show aren't very imaginative or creative which can be the kiss of death in this competition. Quote Jaymes may think she's a comedy queen, but she doesn't even belong in the same book as Bianca Del Rio, Bob the Drag Queen or Pandora Boxx, let alone the same sentence. Speaking of lack of imagination and creativity, Jaymes thinks she's a comedy queen but everything I heard her say that was supposed to be funny were obviously shticky things that she came up with ahead of time. You can't be a comedy queen if you can't think on your feet and respond to what's happening in the moment. Just tossing in your stock "jokes" doesn't cut it. I couldn't believe how basic her pink workroom dress was. If that's what she came up with when she had time to prepare beforehand, I dread to think what she'll "create" when she is faced with a challenge where Ru gives them some material and doo-dads and they have to make something in a day. 1 Link to comment
Eater of Worlds April 1, 2017 Share April 1, 2017 I would have liked Jaymes to come out in a dress that was decorated like a beer bottle, with a glove hat. Like the Laverne and Shirley opener with the glove on the beer bottle going through the factory. 4 Link to comment

I don’t know if there was more shade coming from the queens or from all the 5 o’clock shadows on my screen but I had to grab a sweater. There seems to be a lot of them that don’t do make up well or is it just me? Heh. I finally watched this and I have a huge screen 4-D high def. Believe me, I can see pores, there is such clarity. And the one thing that stood out is that some of the queens have major skin issues. And Aja's (I think it was Aja) make up ROUGH. I will say that Nina Bo Nina Brown has GORGEOUS skin. Just flawless, really. And a great face, good bone structure. I was curious as to how my pre-juding them based on their "meet the Queens' video stood up and I was pretty spot on. I had Nina, Sahsa, Valentina and Charlie Hides as favorites and they still help up well. Had Jaymes Mansfield as dead last. Yup. Hated Kimora Blac, still do. Shea Corlea moved up in my estimation. I found her funny on the video but I thought she came off as even funnier, even if I didn't like her make up. Farrah Moan seemed like an airhead. Still does. 1 Link to comment
