Two years later, Rip is captured by Boko Haram and it's up to his former SEAL Team Six brothers to locate and rescue him. 1 Link to comment

Febgirl January 19, 2017 Share January 19, 2017 Woof. And I love Walton Goggins! Other than him, the acting was so bad. Especially by the two wives. I will dvr and just watch his scenes, maybe. I read a review today that perfectly described this show as a CBS show with cursing. Link to comment

CrazyDog January 19, 2017 Share January 19, 2017 I'm in. I don't care about the domestic drama, (though the guy who wanted out is a little more interesting) but Goggins is great. Hopefully the show will focus more on Rip, the teacher and the hostages. The scene at the school, from the beginning, was so tense. 1 Link to comment

Stratego January 20, 2017 Share January 20, 2017 I was skeptical when I saw Weinstein was the executive producer--and it was warranted! I agree that the central characters need to "be real" (have flaws), but this show is The Shield rebooted. It's like criminals with badges--and none of the members can "cut it" as a husband or a father. Link to comment
Raja January 20, 2017 Share January 20, 2017 Cliche is right. Team 6 is supposed to be the best of the best, yet new guy seems to be going through basic training not that he was a veteran SEAL chosen for the team. I guess because it is on the History channel we get to see actors dry humping simulated sex and throw out a "shit" here and there. But head to head I would re-watch an episode of The Unit. green January 20, 2017 Share January 20, 2017 No way would I watch a show right after Vikings. That show can't be touched. So I happened to catch this pilot episode on Thursday night repeat. I have never seen such a silly, cliched military drama. In this day and age it doesn't wash. Not worth watching for me. Link to comment

SharonH58 January 21, 2017 Share January 21, 2017 I enjoyed it. Hope Rip finds out the guy he killed was with his brother, so they were bad. I wanted them to ask him what are you doing here if you are an American? If they did I missed it. Could also due without some of the home drama. Thanks wife for being supportive of me going to help save friend of mine. 1 Link to comment
Stratego January 22, 2017 Share January 22, 2017 As a gripe, (or two) Rip would have been disciplined--even if the facts were altered--no one would want him in command of a team. The same effect for this story's purpose could have been accomplished by Rip kicking the stuffing out of of one (or both) of them. The first guy (the villain we learn later) would have been sufficiently vengeful toward Rip anyway. 1 Link to comment

A real Rip would be in the brig or federal prison for executing a noncombatant in full surrender, so we can assume the facts were altered plenty, or TV magic wants us to believe you'd just get a dishonorable discharge for that. Drogo January 27, 2017 Share January 27, 2017 I find the show very realistic with the exception of Calder all but denying his daughter's existence and blaming USN. Not looking forward to his bug out about not being able to care about anyone because he's "a warrior." Come on, show. Scary watching The Silent Brother recruit lonely American teens to their cause. Buying lives and destruction for the price of a new family, an Alex Morgan jersey and a Nikon DSLR. Catching fish in a barrel, unfortunately. And the moral of the story, Moneybags: When BH says "Do it" and the SEAL says "Don't do it" -- don't fucking do it. Link to comment

It seems that if "the personal lives" were important to give depth to the characters that there would be one or two of the team that were actively (and successfully) involved with the families--not all SEALS are dysfunctional in family relationships. BonnieD January 28, 2017 Share January 28, 2017 i was really confused by the time/distance of it all. They were home in ...? California??? Then in Nigeria. then back home again. That's a Looooong distance to travel if they are in the middle of a mission and intend to keep pressing on until they find their friend. Would they really fly across the world just to give us those scenes of them back at home (and why do they live so near each other?). Or did I not watch closely enough and the second scenes with the families were flashbacks. 1 Link to comment

They don't show them doing their actual job, only missions, so it's easy to forget they're stationed at a military base. The team is in counterterrorism extraction, so they need to hand the target off to Intel (stateside) for interrogation. Six is only deployed for short periods; they are in and out because once their presence is known they're screwed, no one's coming in behind them. *FWIW, if this were a real Team, there's no way Culder could be behind on his child support. His government wages would be quickly garnished once the ruling hit. There are also credit requirements and if you're debt-ridden you can get punished and/or discharged through the UCMJ. 1 Link to comment

Artsda January 28, 2017 Share January 28, 2017 I think Culder being scared of having his daughter around was shown really well. The gang drinking together, the wives' get-together, the underwater training, etc. Even the "combat" scenes--all so phony. Goggins "saved" this episode is true--but as much by his fame as by his actual acting. I'm convinced this mess is not renewed; it might not even broadcast all of it's episodes. Link to comment

I wish that the writers would have focused on more shades to the wives than " Nags" . The world's oldest cliche, and these ladies can't act to save their lives, so maybe that's all they could do? I think the rest of the cast are trolling social media hard for fans and renewal-- Completely unrelated-- does anyone else find the sound mixing on the show horrible? I had to watch with closed captioning last night. Link to comment

MaggieG February 3, 2017 Share February 3, 2017 I thought the whole "let's screw by the bridge" thing with Rip and his wife was a little odd. Plus, it's a good thing they were late or else they would have had to face both the BH and the AQAP (whoever) that were trucked in. Stratego February 16, 2017 Share February 16, 2017 What a hatchet job on the team! Of course each character needs some kind of a flaw for reality purposes, but this is ridiculous. Drogo February 17, 2017 Share February 17, 2017 Caulder sleeping with his friend's wife. .. the logistics of that are all off. Buck put the nanny-cam in to see what his wife was up to while he was away ("I love you but I don't know if I can trust you.") Of course when Buck's away, Caulder's also away. There are more effective ways to show us that Caulder's a horndog, and the show was accomplishing that without this extremely unrealistic twist. I think the idea is that they only slept together as a coping mechanism after Buck had been killed. She did seem sad(?) in the video and I believe she said something like "Just hold me." Even then, very unrealistic that Caulder would go there. Bear's heart balloon delivery and Rip's humanity were the highlight of the episode for me. Link to comment
