Yeah Kaz is one of the hottest women to appear on the Challenge, with that sexy British accent to boot.

Wonder what kind of shape CT is in.  His acting didn't lead to more roles so he wants another bite at the apple but it's been a couple of years since he was last on the Challenge, so a couple years older and who knows what kind of shape.

Now there are more younger and bigger men in the Challenge so CT has to rely more on his wits.

At least CT has some wits, which is more than Josh and Fessy and others have.

She was one of the two winners from Challenge: UK and went on to win Challenge: World Championship (partnered with Jordan)

Ah, thank you. I was thinking I'd seen every Challenge iteration since the beginning, but I forgot I skipped out on World Championship because I was burned out.

I don't really have much interest in this season, either, but I can't seem to quit this mess so I'm sure I'll tune in.

In this week’s People they are the first blurb in the passages section, and they are listed as Challenge veterans.

Pardon, but Kaycee is a Big Brother *champion* first.  And wow it doesn't seem like it’s been five years since she won BB.

They both look gorgeous in the picture used, but I think I would faint if Kaycee was ever seen out in the wild with her hair down.

So is Trishelle according to that link.

So that show just uses reality show cast members?

In the first season, it wasn't only reality show cast members. It included people with regular jobs. I remember reading that they took a different approach to casting in the 2nd season. They only people with some amount "fame" for the 2nd season.

Bananas competing with has-beens like Omarosa, Anfisa (from 90 day fiance), and Johnny Fairplay (from Survivor).   I guess the $200,000 prize is what convinced him to do it, but it just seems not cool.

This show reminded me of mid-2000s reality TV. It's just as goofy as the shows were then. The show was pretty funny.

Thanks for letting me know.   I have been wary of watching, not wanting to risk Bananas becoming diminished in my eyes.   One review I read said he was among the most low-key of the house members.   The reviewer also complimented the editing of the show, saying it was responsible for much of the humor.

But for the moment I am still working on Challenge USA Season 2.

I heard preview, too.

I'm so discouraged by the prospect of Season 39.   I read an interview with the showrunner.   He more or less admitted the insertion of the "legends" is just a gimmick to keep longtime fans like us watching.   In a word, manipulation -- of everybody who kept the show's ratings afloat this long.

As time passes I find I'm angry with Wes for announcing his so-called retirement.  He didn't have to do that.  He could have stepped back and just let the future play out, with or without him.  There are other longtimers who have kids and jobs but still do the show when they can.   But he had to be special.  He had to have his melodramatic farewell tour.   Normally I applaud his narcissism but this time it only enables the misguided "new era" branding that Season 39 is trying to jam down our throats.

This is probably a dumb question but I find myself without cable for the first time in a thousand years.  Will these air the next day on Paramount the way the CBS versions do?

I don’t believe so. They’ve never done that for the MTV show.

You can probably go on the MTV website to see the episode. I remember the MTV website used to do these 24-hour viewing passes for full episodes. I used to use that from time to time. I forgot whether you had to create a login for it but check it out. See if it’ll let you do it.

Georgia tells her story about being victim of revenge porn from Bear.

She's an advocate for this issue, especially looking for greater penalties for the crime.

She's also promoting a book.

But she tells the story about how she met Bear on The Challenge and how she was victimized.

She still might not have gotten any justice if not for Bear's dumb behavior during the trial.

Quote

Bear’s behaviour before and during the trial probably sealed his sentence. He uploaded X-rated videos of him and his girlfriend to the internet, captioning one: “At least she knows I’m filming her.” In another video posted just before the trial, the couple cavorted in orange prison jumpsuits. He ran a Twitter poll on what colour of suit he should wear to court – and turned up in a rented Rolls-Royce, dressed in pink and a huge fur coat, carrying a cane topped with a gold snake’s head. In court, he interrupted the judge and waved away the barrister. He pleaded not guilty, but his defence was nonsensical. At times, he claimed that Harrison wasn’t the woman in the video, or that she didn’t mind it being filmed, or that there was no proof that he had uploaded the images – it might have been his assistant, it could have been a hacker.

Had he pleaded guilty and expressed remorse, he would almost certainly have been handed a community sentence. Harrison still can’t understand it. “The Bear I first met was funny and cheeky, but also really charming – he could be kind,” she says. “That person in court seemed possessed. I feel like every show he went on, he was praised for being ‘the villain’ – and the worse he was, the more attention he got. At some point, the lines blurred. That role took over.” A reality TV monster? “That’s how it seemed.”

I'm just here watching the first episode of the new season of RuPaul's Drag Race. And who walks out on stage in a teeny silver brief as a part of the Pit Crew? Asaf!

I guess these count as media?

I was gobsmacked to be idly watching house hunters and see that Julie (the Mormon), husband, and kids were looking for a house!  I didn't watch all the way through but recorded it and will watch later--will update this post with the season/ep info if I have that.

Second:  these PSA/commercials for ASK, with Darrell, Horacio, Olivia, and Cara Maria.  I guess that (among those willing to do it) those are the people MTV etc. thought most appealing.  Anyway, good for them, I suppose, but the acronym annoys me:

A--Acknowledge [edited to correct from "ask" because I saw it again today.  I thought that wasn't quite right!]
S--Support
K--Keep-in-touch

because those hyphens in keep-in-touch drive me batty!  Also, I keep thinking it could as easily be stay-in-touch, which of course would make the acronym ASS.

Many engineering jobs, it would be difficult to get a lot of time off to do reality TV shows.  Well any that requires say more than 3 weeks of time off, especially doing it more than once, like every year.

If you’ve been at a job long enough you may accrue as much as 4 weeks a year but it could be disruptive to your work group if you take 4-week blocks off from work, every year.

The last season of The Amazing Race was won by brothers who work at Google or at least one of them worked there.  They might have missed maybe 3-6 weeks by making it through the end.

But TAR is a one-t8me thing for winners, who don’t get invited back.  They could try to come to the Challenge but Google just did more layoffs after laying off thousands last year.

Working at a company like Google for years is worth way more than winning the big prize in any reality TV show.

So Ed says he’s an engineer but either they’re very permissive about him taking time off to do reality TV or he’s not on some serious engineering career track, at least not yet.

All Star seasons have been only 10 episodes compared to the original ones which can be around double the number.

Will they keep the prize money to $500k or will they lower it, since Season 39 went down to under $500k total?

A bit surprised to see both Leroy and Cam on this upcoming season, given that they're pregnant again. I guess it was filmed before this pregnancy/she knew. But also, their first child is still really young - I don't think he's even 2 yet, so even younger when they left.

At least the trailer looks more exciting than this past season....

They can't stay away can they?

All Stars have been generally less competitive field but they're also older too and after going through parenthood, maybe not the beasts they used to be.

The Challenge, offering financial hope for young parents for over 4 decades!

Yeah, I think this was filmed a loooong time ago, re Kam and Leroy.

I was looking forward to this after the slop that was the past season.  BUT they've managed to kill it for me with this trailer.  Am not looking forward to the shit show of Rachel, Tina and Veronica again and especially not looking forward to the double shit show of Cara, Laurel and Nicole.  (Isn't Nicole married now?)  Don't get me wrong, I'm gonna watch it.  I saw some faces streak by that we haven't seen in a while, so that will be fun.  Hopefully.

This show as filmed well over a year ago.

So they’ve been purposefully giving us the subpar shit and shoving it down our throats, while holding back what looks like a pretty decent All Star season.
