GreatKazu October 22, 2016 Share October 22, 2016 (edited) Quote What I don't get is if April was such a bad mother, and it has been said a lot she was, why would Tyler and Cate leave Nova there so much? Why wouldn't they protect their daughter from what Cate experienced? Because it gives them the time to go and get high and party with their friends. Tyler asked Cate how was she going to handle being around their friends when they toke it up. Their lifestyle is no better than April's. They probably feel April is in a different place now than she was when she was at her worst. Cate probably does it out of guilt as well since April blasted her for giving away Carly. But the biggest reason, I feel, is because leaving Carly with April allows Cate to not have to do anything that a SAHM is supposed to be doing. If April is ashamed of herself every single day, that surely won't help her sobriety. We doubt she is clean, so it is likely she hasn't sought real aftercare treatment. Did she even go to rehab or did she quit cold turkey? Quote To me, Tyler and his mother are the biggest jerks ever. Add Cate to that list. I just cannot stand people who go around and use the word "retards" to defend themselves from people who blast her for putting her naked child on snapchat. I also cannot stand people who put their child's safety at risk the way Cate did yesterday. Edited October 22, 2016 by GreatKazu 3 Link to comment
Katt October 22, 2016 Share October 22, 2016 My husband is a teacher and when students use the words retard and gay as negatives, he loses his shit. Really, what does that say about YOU if you that's your go-to when you've acted like a space cadet and been called out? I have space cadets in my family so it's okay for ME to say that. 10 Link to comment

ginger90 October 22, 2016 Share October 22, 2016 I think if Tyler had been the one to wake Cate from her "snooze" and drove her to the appointment, Cate would have said sonething negative about it. She may have thought it to herself, and used it later. The fact Cate knew it was an important appointment, hit snooze and knew she would be late, leaves it on her, no controlling from Tyler. The ball was in her court and she blew it, all by herself. 3 Link to comment

Tyler is damned if he does/damned if he don't when it comes to Catelynn's "depression" -- which is why he's so checked out of this relationship. We'll see 8 weeks of "my wife" this and that posts on social media only because they have a shitty book to promote but then we'll see nothing. With joint ownership of two properties now, we know the thought of splitting has run through Tyler's head. You get this house, I'll take the other one. You keep your vehicles and I'll keep my toys. 6 Link to comment

I think Tyler may have been told by Kinko Kathleen, and Cate may have been told this as well, that it is up to Cate to make the appointment and follow through with it. Knowing Tyler, and going by what he has said on camera, he may have told KK how Cate is gung-ho at other times, but when it comes to her mental health well-being, she is not following through with any aftercare. We know he told KK how he feels it was likely him pushing Cate that caused her to go to rehab, not so much that she wanted help for herself. It doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility KK then advised Tyler and Cate it is on her to follow through. If she really wants help, she will seek it. 1 Link to comment

I could not make myself wake up. No matter how many alarms went off I could not get out of bed. Tyler lives with her. He has to see how bad she is. As a supportive spouse he could have made sure she got up and went. It's not like he has a job to go to. His day is pretty flexible. 5 Link to comment

He is damned for asking and he is damned for not doing. What the hell is he supposed to do if his wife tells him to leave her alone and that she will get to it when she wants? I highly doubt Cate is sleeping 16 hour days when it is important such as right now as she is walking around Los Angeles. If she is sleeping so much, perhaps getting off the bong would be the first thing she needs to do. I laugh at the thought Cate is sleeping in the whole day when there is a concert to go to or when she has something planned that is not mundane to her. Cate is not sleeping. She is busy posting her daughter naked on Snap Chat. She isn't too tired, depressed, or sleeping to do that. She can call out people by calling them "retards". I suppose that is her depression and her mental illness that is at fault. We don't even know if that was Cate's first attempt at going to the psychologist office. She may have called and canceled appointments before this one. We don't know if Tyler did in fact ask her if she wanted him to drive her there. I could see Tyler wanting to drive her since he is so adamant and somewhat controlling about her being seen by the psychiatrist. Cate probably blew him off and told him she would go on her own. We know Tyler wasn't there or else Cate would have mentioned it in her explanation to him. She goes into detail about hitting the snooze button. She wouldn't be saying that to Tyler if in fact he was home. Edited October 22, 2016 by SPLAIN 2 Link to comment

mamadrama October 23, 2016 Share October 23, 2016 So I was kind of on the fence with @CofCinci's theory of Cate being in rehab for something more than anxiety. I just hadn't seen enough to convince me otherwise. However, right before she went to rehab she talked about her marijuana use and stopping it and when she returned she talked about being off of marijuana, as did everyone else in her life, making it sound like she went there at least partly for IT. Yet now she is proudly declaring her MJ card and talking about using it instead of anti-anxiety meds. If she really went to rehab for her marijuana use, or at least in part because of it, then why be proud of being "off the wagon" by bragging about using it NOW? If it was REALLY marijuana Kim was talking about in the kitchen, and Cate was upset for being "outed," then why get on Twitter or wherever and brag about using it and needing it? So I think CoCinci is right; it was harder drugs. The pot was just a code. Her behavior "by the rocks", missing the doctor's appointment, and on Snapchat has just solidified this for me. 3 Link to comment

I declared the very same thing in two other topics. The scene with Kim was what solidified it for me. Cate didn't have an issue with covering the car camera. She didn't have an issue when Tyler called her up asking about the roaches. Cate and April were having a blast as they drove to Boogie Town. How many of these trips have these two taken before? No qualms, no worries, she showed no fear, she wasn't upset at all if the world knew she smoked pot. Going as far as showing her weed card (whether it is a real one or not is another story), while declaring it was wrong for her to drive while under the influence only after she was called out for her behavior and AFTER the scene aired. Tyler is upset with Cate, but not for pot use. He knows more than he is willing to share. It was his and Cate's dirty little secret. We know MTV will cover it up just like Leah's addiction. I truly believe MTV inserted those scenes of the pot references so as to make it look that was Cate's problem. They hid everything else. Sorry for rambling. Just had a glass of wine. No, not Barker's Beauties. More like the Gong Show. Remember how MTV used to insert popular music into their shows such as The Real World? I can remember to this day certain songs that appeared in different seasons. I remember the song by R.E.M. "Losing My Religion" being played during a scene where Jon (RW Venice/Los Angeles) was talking about his upbringing and religion. The song seemed to fit whatever was happening on the show. Oh how I wish that was happening today with TMOG and TM2. I can think of several songs that would fit the cast members and their situations. "Dirty Laundry" by Don Henley would suit Catelynn and Tyler. Kail, too. Edited October 24, 2016 by GreatKazu 4 Link to comment
