They probably have children in school full time. If you have children under the age of 5, you don't have much time for fun.

Although I'm not sure why volunteering and going to the gym are bad things? I have friends who work who go to the gym on their lunch break and volunteer. SAHMs can't do those things? They're not allowed a break? They shouldn't be healthy by getting in a workout? I go to the gym when my husband gets home so I can be healthy for my kids. Does that take away from what I do as a mom?  Confusing.

I never said there's nothing wrong or bad with doing those things. Through a working mom's eyes it just looks like you have some time on your hands when some will tell you how busy they are. This is just my perception from women I have met or know (NOT intended for anyone here).

My husband is a SAHD now. He does most of the childcare. When I am not working I take care of the kids so that HE can go out for coffee, go to the gym, go on a run, etc. I MAKE TIME for those things that you mention, because they keep him sane. I also think that we can never know what goes on inside a person's personal life because all we're ever really seeing is the outside. A person might see my husband at the gym 4 days a week, for instance, and think he doesn't "do anything" and has "loads of free time" when, in fact, the other 23 hours of the day he's running around taking care of the kids.

I love judging people on TV. Don't get me wrong. I say bring on the snark! But this kind of conversation is a little personal to me. I don't know Tasha. I just know what I see of her on the 6 minutes of TV time she gets a week. What I CAN say is that, so far, I haven't liked or disliked her yet. Her dancing, to me, is kind of meh. Like Kelsey. I think Kelsey is a gorgeous woman, although her cameo does her no justice IMHO, but everything else about her is kind of vanilla. I would forget she was even there, if not for her unique look.

Yuko is the one I find fascinating. I wonder what it was like for her to grow up in Japan? Did she ever feel out of place, knowing that deep inside she was really just a country girl yearning for boots and big hair? ;-)

I love this post!!!!! I talk to myself and a 6 month old baby all day long! That outing to the gym or rare lunch with a friend where I get to interact with other adults keeps me sane! People who work don't understand the isolation.

I stare at Kelsey on the show.. ? I think she is so freaking pretty.

I love Yuko and I'm not even sure why, other than like you, I think she's fascinating!

I dont think anyone is saying it is bad. I think its more she doesnt acknowledge that her family has supported her in getting there. Didnt they try to up play the single mom thing on the first episode? It could be editing or it could be her. Either way it makes me not like her. This subject is now a dead horse.

Any insiders know if any of the vets are on weight warning? Sure looks like some should according to dcc standards.

Can't understand why not having to work and having a rich husband is such a bad thing.  Also, I think if you are beautiful (like Tasha)you should utilize that beauty in life!  To me NOT doing that makes someone dumb.

Is she really that mormon though? Looking at her life choices im guessing not. Not that there is anything wrong with being any faith or not being with any faith (trust me my husband is a "christmas" catholic where you go to church for Christmas mass). It just doesnt explain her choices.

I'm wondering if she was maybe a convert? I know Madeline has been a born and raised Mormon, not sure about Tasha though.

I could never be a mormon.  Coffee is prohibited.  I would fail the first morning.

Maybe her faith is why she was married three times - she didn't want to live together, etc without being married. Then it didn't work out.

im in Pennsylvania and Utah Mormons are a whole different culture than LDS everywhere else, but the families I know all love Starbucks. Maybe they drink decaf stuff. If you're born into a faith that prohibits something, you just don't pick up the prohibited thing, so it's no biggie. Usually.

Sort of like an old school Catholic who just grows up expecting a large family and no fish o Friday, or an old school Baptist who knows you don't dance at weddings or drink alcohol. It's not part of your life so the absence isn't abnormal.

Anyway.......I think CMTs portrayal of Tasha - no matter whose idea it was - as a struggling former teen mom who is pursing her dream - was a mistake. Makes her look flighty, shallow and stupid. Not sure if their intentions were to make Tasha look bad or to try to make her sympathetic, but they should've given her a Sasha type story of her being a former NBA dancer, beauty blogger, etc., who just so happens to have a daughter (Sasha was a teacher I know, not NBA dancer).

  • Love 1

Honestly, I am not sure Tasha's story line needs to be all that more complex than "She carried and delivered a baby and can still dance and wear that minuscule uniform". People are putting their own hang ups about kids and work in her.

i don't really feel any particular way about Tasha, besides always thinking it's funny when people who don't have kids try and put a value on what is and is not work when it comes to raising them. I don't understand this obsession with her "work" -- it's not like most of these girls did things outside of part time dance instructor anyway. And I think once some of them got married, even that stopped. Did Holly A ever work? Does anyone even care?

See, it's weird to me people would think Sasha did it more "right" than Tasha. Sasha worked a full time job teaching, and then was at what was basically her hobby for hours on end each night.  She had a kid at home. I am sure that kid was loved and well cared for, and at the end of the day do you and your family. But let's not pretend that being a teacher and a DCC left tons of time for hands on parenting -- the hours don't allow it. She clearly had help and support too.

If I had a choice between "work/hobby/support watching my kid" and "no work/hobby/support so I could spend time with my kid and do what I wanted" I am not sure I would think twice.

You make an excellent point. while Sasha had an income and was educated, Tasha (who apparently does have some income from blogging and modeling) probably had more time directly with her child.

The whole 'I'm doing his for my daughter' is what I dislike. Just admit this is for you. It's ok.

Also, Sasha didn't have a ton of goofy romance novel photos out there, which I definitely snarked at. Tasha's photos were just so corny and over the top, I admit I judged her for them.

The only 'premarital' activity wth Tasha that is confirmed is when she was a teenager and got pregnant. Then married her boyfriend/babydaddy. I speak from Christianity bc that's what I know, but although every denomination says premarital/extramarital sex is a sin, I'd say 9/10 of People who say they are Christians have sinned in that manner. People make mistakes and sometimes don't adhere to every rule all the time. That's human. That's where mercy and forgiveness come in if you're truly repentant.

Tasha is just so polarizing because she is so conflicting with her appearance and her life. Modesty is huge with LDS and that store she modeled for is a modest one. But then she dances in a bra for pro teams. She styles herself like a playboy bunny and takes those romance novel pics, but we have zero evidence that she has been promiscuous, a cheater, or anythjng dangerous or illegal. She presents her self as very devoted to family, but has been married three times before 30 and spends her time in a role you wouldn't expect a mother to take.

I don't dislike her, but she confuses me.

This!

Not sure why the romance novels keep getting brought up as something sooo looked down upon.

She's a young beautiful girl who was asked to be shot for the cover of the book. Who would turn that down? And at least she was providing some $ for her family... and did the shoot with her husband and not some rando.

Tasha lists "fashion model" as her occupation on instagram... she's not hiding it or trying to make it seem like she's a struggling single mom.... that was CMT, and probably Kelli as well. Regarding the bios, I'm betting the DCC org felt like "stay at home mom" sounded better and was more relatable than "stay at home mom/model." At least she has a job listed, unlike Jennifer K.

Once again another one reminder: If someone upsets you, use the ignore feature. Do not call the other poster out on here because doing so breaks the main rule on here: be civil or do not post at all. This is the Current DCCs thread. It is not the working mom, single mom, or stay at home mom debate central thread. There are plenty of places in the internet world to discuss or debate this one topic until the cows come home. Lets give the poor dead horse a rest. Yes, it is fine to discuss Tasha via the she was a single mom and is a stay at home mom angle has been brought on the show, but going on and on about working vs non working moms or debating who should be labeled a single mom off topic discussion until we all turn blue in the face is not fine. Posts going off topic will be edited or hidden at the discretion of the mods. Thank you.

I'm going to take this opportunity to give a shoutout to the seemingly unnoticed DCC!

10. Selina: featured some last season before she was cut. 9. Tess: straightened back out her hair and virtually disappeared, IMO. 8. Khalyn: literally didn't realize this girl existed until last week. 7. raylee: she never gets mentioned much on this forum. 6. Simone: she got herself on the team so there's that... 5. Robyn: I need more Robyn in my life! Less Megan and Mel and more Robyn! 4. Elizabeth/Bess: why we don't discuss her is a question I have. 3. Claire: wooden hair is all I can say. 2. Jessica literally been on the squad for five seasons, group leader, and I still forget about her.  Sorry Jess! And drumroll please.... (insert sound effects).... 1. Amy L! I honestly feel bad for her.  She is pretty and deserves more attention! But she can come across as Vanilla I'm not sure if K and J realize she is there with showboats in the room.

I feel like we beat a dead horse.  I'm gonna say it.  All DCC Matter! I think they are all fantastic!!! I'm honestly tired of talking about only a select few.

@Josreason I completely agree with you! I think Amy L.  and Raylee are so freaking pretty, and I love Amy's style of dance. I feel like, if you're not one of the chosen few from your class, then you are rarely mentioned. Who I think the chosen ones are...

5th year: Danielle, some Jenna.

4th year: Jennifer

3rd year: Melissa, some Erica

2nd year: Holly, Amy T

1st year: Maggie, Tasha, Yuko, Madeline, Kelsey, and some Mandy. There's a few more 1st years due to the comeback girls.

Overall, I feel bad for the 2nd years. So many of those girls are fantastic dancers, yet they are completelly forgotten about with the Holly/Amy T storm

Add Jinelle to the year 4 list and Megan to year 3 and you hit the nail on the head.

Too bad we can't see her nails. I bet they're red! The harlot. We might as well force her to wear a scarlet A!

Okay, kidding.

Megan C is only a 2nd year vet. Is there another Megan?

Yuko's profile says  she's has 8 years of rhythmic gymnastics experience. Isn't that what Kat was?

Maybe I misread the article, but I took Kelli's comment regarding neutrals and nudes to refer to an overall general look, not a requirement. On some teams you see each girl with the exact same share of bright red lips (I love my KC Chiefs Cheerleaders but they are offenders of this), when really that particular shade only flatters a few of the girls. I wish I could pull off bright red, I look like Snow White!

2 minutes ago, QuiteContraryMoni said:

HAHAHA!! OMG you noticed that too?! Girl, we don't miss a beat. Except, I can never get anyone's name right. That's a beat I definitely miss. YES! What a hussy!! Wearing all that suggestive red!

I actually think the red works on her. I can't do red. I've tried. Raisin, yes. Red, no. I look like Elton John in drag.

Red has always looked hideous on me. I can wear darker plums or coral or pink (ick) or burnt sienna, but not red. Either it's too blue-red and doesn't match my skin tone or it's too yellow-red and makes my teeth look a shade darker. Good for Raylee for being able to pull it off. Some girls are just able to rock that color!

I agree about some of the vets not getting much air time. I don't know if it's by choice or not. Robyn is absolutely adorable. She & Kashara were my favorite rookies last season.

Putting this on Current DCCs because I'm not sure where else to put it.

Watching the Dallas v. Chicago game on Sunday Night Football. They were playing "Thunderstruck" in the background and I could see the DCC were on the field while the announcers did their pre-game analysis. I'm sitting here saying "show the DCC!!!!"  LOL :)  Hoping the cameras will show some of the DCC tonight during the game!

BTW, I'm completely procrastinating on writing my APA format research paper that is due by 2 AM tonight.  UGH!  I just can't get motivated to write about transformational leadership in nursing, but I can be distracted by "ooh, DCC might be on".  I need a life!  I hate school right now, but that doctorate will be worth it.

I'll keep an eye out for when week 3 NFL cheerleaders goes up on sports illustrated to see if there's any triangle pictures. In other news, the video DCC posted on twitter of the Whomp there it is dance for the fourth quarter was missing Holly, wonder where she was...her group was in there and there was obviously a spot for her but she was just missing lol

I looked on Melissa's twitter and there was no pregame tweet from her which i find odd since almost all the girls post something about it being gameday on every home game and she did a pregame tweet for the last home game. She did retweet one tweet about yesterday but no picture proof she was there.

She was definitely dancing pre-game and quarter changes (shown on the screen), bathroom? Lol

I believe that's Megan, unless it changed too. That's been her spot for the past few games.

I saw people tweeted her videos of her on the screen during the game. I was thinking maybe she was doing something for show group but Kelli S/Q whatever you wanna call her was in the video. That is probably where she was haha
