If this was covered I apologize, but I just watched tonight's episode and I am completely confused. I thought Abbys daughters are twins, why are they only celebrating ones birthday?

Just watched last week's episode, and of course firefighter has a sob story to explain why she's such a cold brat towards Kevin. Then she finds him while running and reiterates the same crap again. He got it the first time crazy chick! She needs to go away now.

Jess and cook guy are growing on me- they were cute. I'm sure she will mess it up because she's a whiny brat. 

Every single week the promo monkeys hint that there will be tension between Abby and Trace, but nothing happens. It's as if this show is so boring that they have to manufacture drama that isn't there. Just let them be happy.

This show really is boring. I will finish the season but that's it. Pretty people in a beautiful setting with no actual problems. 

I'm not a parent, but 10 seems awfully old for a princess party. I have an 8-year-old niece who never got into the princess thing, but I'm pretty sure she would roll her eyes hard if a friend had this theme party.  Also, the party was totally ostentatious and completely over-the-top. IRL, other parents would not be complimenting Abby - they would be snarking behind her back while trying to figure out how to one-up the party for their own kid's birthday. At least, that's what I've heard.

In the books they were twins, but in the show I think they've always been different ages.

Boy, this episode was a slog.  I might quit the show at the end of the season, too.

It's just too busy! They're trying to cram everyone's story into every episode instead of letting the stories breathe. There was so much we learned about everyone in the first season that seems to have been dropped.

Haha, this has been distracting me too!  I love long hair but it has to be on the right guy and it doesn't seem right on them.

I think what bothers me is why the adult children are living at home if they are so successful....I know the scenery is beautiful but even exes are living closeb.  So who watches the kids after school....just whoever happens to be at home that day or is that Grandmas job?

I came to the conclusion tonight that I genuinely don't like any of the characters.  Okay, Kevin, I like Kevin.   And... um... yeah, I'm out.   

Abby: I took a promotion at my job even thought he whole point of my move was to be with my kids but I'll be so sad if Trace pursues his job.   GTF over it.

Bree: I got a book deal... Boo Hoo.   And Yeah, I actually agree the guy shouldn't have submitted her work without talking to her but my god, talk about first world problems.

Kevin: Yeah, I have no real issue with Kevin

Connor: I quit my job and found a new one but boo hoo my daddy might be angry with me.  How will I cope?

Jess: The biggest mess ever.  I mean I totally get why she's wigged about the chef guy going because he does literally everything and she doesn't pay him, but OMG she melts down over everything.  There was some indication in the first season that she'd survived something major... but I can't imagine it since as far as I can tell she can't survive laundry.

And the three girls bonding together over how much men suck when none of the actual men that they are with are doing anything that sucks.

I am vaguely there for when Mick (or Thomas? Who is older?) finds out he's not really an O'Brien because he's all "O'Brien" forever... 

But not enough to watch another season.  I don't think there is enough location porn in the world for me to keep up with this over another season.

I agree- the O'Brien women are a bunch of entitled, spoiled jerks. They have some pretty great guys for whatever reasons despite their constant whining and oversharing about their feelings. Get over it. I am also done with this show. No amount of Trace prettiness is worth it to endure another season of these idiotic people.

I like Kevin too, but his taste in women is pretty bad.

You guys make some good points.  I don't think I'm quite ready to quit, but wow was Season 2 a step down from Season 1.  Cutesy romance hijinks and Trace's songs playing on a loop just don't do it for me.  I'm still enjoying Megan, Connor and Kevin (maybe because I never had brothers of my own), and Bree.  And I'm holding out hope that Uncle Thomas can somehow take Mick down a peg or two.

Can we please, PLEASE cut her loose?  She seriously acts like she's the same age as Abby's children.  Because of that I just feel it's inappropriate and icky for her to be half of a romantic partnership, and frankly I think Caitlyn and Carrie would be better at managing a business.

Why did Sarah have to come back?  Why?

I don't understand how Jess can successfully run a B&B when she's always at her grandmother's house for breakfast. Understanding she doesn't do the cooking, she would still need to do the hosting.  I'm out. This is too saccharine even by Hallmark standards.

I have heard of similar stories but nobody hasn't been angry, on the contrary. 

Bree claims that she has learned from Martin's case, but in fact she hasn't: she acts now in the way she should have acted with Martin, without noticing that the quy is different and he deserves another chance.

I got an impression that the kids have regularly met their Mom (at least if they wanted to). Originally she planned to have them live with her once she was settled down, but realized that it was better that they continue to live in their old home.

Saw the new season’s preview and am already cringing at the airhead “inn owner” sister with her boyfriend, recreating Sixteen Candles.  Just, no.  I would much prefer if she went somewhere to ‘find herself’.

I've been wondering how old is Jess supposed to be anyway? Her mental age is throwing me off since she seems closer to Abby's daughters. In reality, David (is that her boyfriend's name?) would have gone for Bree who actually acts her age and had more chemistry with.

Bwahahaha!  Oh man, I hate Jess so much.  She's a complete airhead, and she's irresponsible and incapable of doing anything by herself.  David was off dealing with family issues this episode, and she could BARELY manage breakfast for her inn guests.  She had to steal eggs and other supplies from her family's house, for pete's sake! 

Speaking of David, why oh why did they pair him up with Jess?!  I'm thinking it's probably a convenience thing since he works at the inn with her, but he had much better chemistry with Bree.  I would also like Jess to go off and "find herself" elsewhere (far away from Chesapeake Shores), and then maybe Bree can take over inn duties for just long enough to reconnect with David.

Actually, while we're getting rid of characters, I'd like to see Connor go as well.  His storyline is boring and I don't really care about him.  To be honest, the Abby/Trace stuff is insanely boring as well.  Maybe the show shouldn't have put them together so quickly, and they probably shouldn't have shipped Trace off to Nashville, where he's isolated from the rest of our main characters.  I actually like both Abby and Trace, so I just want the show to find something more interesting for them, preferably with Trace staying in Chesapeake Shores.

Connor is such a baby. Mick did everything he could ethically do to let Connor know that he needed to take another look at the contract, but Connor didn’t pick up the hint. Oh well. Business is business, and another lawyer wouldn’t have given him any kind of heads up to a potential problem. 

Hallmark series. Visually appealing to watch, but I increasingly find myself wondering why I bother otherwise.

I agree. I was hoping this season would have more story and less filler but it already feels like they're reaching for the drama. I finally picked up the book series and started the first book which has my interest much more than the series right from the get-go.

I really want to like this, but it is the most boring, nothing-ever-happens show.  I also massively dislike several characters to the point of muting my TV when they appear.   Granny is a prime example.  She adds nothing, says nothing but pithy little homilies, and still has the horrendous on/off accent.   I can't listen or even watch when she's on.

Yeah, I'm having a hard time, as well, with the fact that Nothing. Ever. Happens.  Cedar Cove had the same issue.

Jess is horrid, and I hope that David's family hates her.  I'm betting they'll dislike her but adore Bree, ha.  Jess being unhinged because she hadn't heard from David in three days was too much.  He should run far and fast (he won't, but he absolutely should).

Bree's story is pretty much the only one that I'm interested in, at the moment.  I find the British writer guy kind of charming and enjoy their banter.  That being said, I wouldn't be opposed if she and David *oopsie* shared a kiss while visiting his family in Maine.  At least that would provide some drama going forward.

Jess sucks. A lot. I was also throwing a shit fit when I saw the initial commercials of her and David stealing a scene from 16 Candles. No thank you. Even the hotness of Jesse Metcalfe is not worth the pure agony of being bored stuff for 45 minutes each week.

Every time I watch Jess, I’m wondering how someone can be that stupid and live.

Connor is a brat. I don’t know why.

Granny showed her true colors- when sweet words and muffin bribes don’t work, threaten your “enemies” with your family’s power and influence. To be fair, she did wait weeks(!) before playing her trump card, to which the mayor immediately caved. So there you go.

Didn’t David have a mini-flirtation with Bree first? How did he end up deciding that Jess was the better choice?

I totally agree that Jess and Granny continue to be the worst. 

Danielle is such a non-entity that I can't care either way about her relationship with Connor. 

I felt bad for all the actors (particularly the two little girls) who had to run around in short sleeves when there were freakin' daffodils in the background.

That whole scene was cringe central. They reach every week for some kind of conflict and this was the best they could come up with for the Jess and David thing?

I was hoping fan lady would turn out to be a stalker that knows everything about Abby's life just for something interesting to happen. I hate that this show is making me go on a Lifetime angle just to keep my interest.

I laughed when Bree said "this is what I imagined life would be like. Laying around doing nothing". Um, but that's what you guys do every week...

So Jess isn’t at breakfast because she has to be at the B&B (where you know, breakfast) and who,exactly was there when she went away. But she has time to lay around her sister’s bookstore, lunch with her sisters, eat pie with her brother, drive to Baltimore... She is just SO annoying. She is summed up in the opening credits when she gives a little pout with a smile, like, I’m so cute and adorable. Ugh.

I really want to like this show because the books were so good. They should focus on a few siblings stories and rotate them around instead of 5 siblings stories, parents stories, uncles stories, and Trace’s story. Trace takes up so much time. It’s like he’s not even a part of the whole. And nobody seems to get a moment of happiness. It’s angst, angst, angst.

And Abby - STFU about your daughters' photos being online.  You're dating a country music star.  Having sneaky photos taken comes with the territory.  It's not you were all in compromising positions.

Am I the only one foolish enough to still be watching?  I don't know why I am, considering that most of the storylines bore me to tears:

• Trace's music career and whatever's going on at The Bridge. I don't give a flying cowboy boot.
• Connor's legal work.  Danielle used to be opposing counsel, but now they work together?  Whatever.
• Jess's infantile tantrum du jour.  Termites have eaten the inn that magically functioned despite her incompetence/many absences?  Boo freakin' hoo.
• Gran and now Megan's fight with the city.  Yawn.

The scene where Connor and Bree talked about hiding in the bushes was powerful, though.  I wish the show would get back to the family dynamics.  I assume that's where the fallout from Bree's manuscript is headed.  (I also assume Kevin isn't going anywhere.)  And I don't love Ms. Marvel, but at least it gives Abby something to do besides mope about Trace.

She's like never there anyway and I'm surprised the place hasn't been looted to death along with Bree's store. Oh wait, it's Hallmarkland. Nothing ever really happens unless plot demands random conflict bridges of the hour (i.e. Sheriff Jake's death in the line of duty when literally nothing happens in Middleton to be dangerous...yep, I'm still salty about that one.)

Yes! So yes! Season 1 was so intriguing because of the broken threads between the siblings to each other and their parents. That's what brought me back each week. I was eager to see a slow burn of how everyone would work through their problems and come together. How quickly that was thrown away.

As for watching each week. I'm collecting the episodes to watch bunches at a time because they feel way too short. Not because "yay I can't wait to see what'll happen next" but they could really use each hour to tell some better stories. Each episode feels like half a wasted day. And apparently, there's 1 episode left until the season is over? Is Trace going to run away for ze muziks and Abby going to declare how done-zo they are until next season?

I'm not sure why I'm also foolish enough to still watch. Bree's "whaaaaaaaaattttt my experience isn't the whole truth?????" reaction to the complexities of a marriage falling apart, a person coping with mental unwellness (were they trying to say it was postpartum depression?), and the challenges of child custody. While I understand that the kids all felt abandonment, it baffles me that none of them seem to care that their father played a huge role in keeping their mother away.

I agree Bree doesn’t know the whole truth, but it’s HER truth and instead of her parents and grandma validating her feelings, they just gang up on her and tell her it’s wrong. Whose fault is it that that she and her siblings don’t know the truth? And Dad, she can write what she wants. Whether it’s about her family or not, it’s a story in novel form. I don’t think that every book I read is about the author’s life.

I completely agree with you that it's her truth and that her feelings should be validated. I just think it's poor writing to simplify her into being completely dumbfounded by the possibility that others experienced different truths.

I'm still watching, but only for Treat Williams and his steely business approach.  He'll always be Dr. Andy Brown to me.

Trace's storyline is eh, but I like the tension between him and Mick regarding The Bridge.  I do have to admit I kinda like Abby and Ms. Marvel hitting it off.

Megan and Kevin are tolerable.  Everyone else annoys me to the nth degree - right down to Connor and Kevin's gf's.  I don't know why, but Danielle really bugs the most.  The actress has a harsh look about her that makes me unable to warm up to her.

David - RUN.  Run as fast as you can away from that childish trainwreck known as Jess.  How she managed to 'manage' the inn, even with help from assorted others is beyond me.  Even Brie is becoming a bit insufferable with all of her twisted contorted facial expressions and overdramatic reactions to things

The morning breakfast ritual needs to stop.  First of all - I would think Abby has a bit of a commute before she's in Baltimore for, let's say, 9  To have it look like it's mid-day sun outside that early in the morning when everyone's oh-so- casually and cutesy popping into the kitchen all dressed and ready for that first cup of coffee and gran's fresh baked goods (that she would've had to have had started around 6am) makes me want to hurl.  Two people at the table, then Brie comes in from yoga, then Jess pops over (even though she has her own place) with some excuse to be there, then Kevin (who has his own place) shows up because he has no food in the fridge because he's too lazy to shop...then they all fit themselves into the conversation by finishing someone elses sentence or saying something quippy while pouring coffee from a decanter that can't possibly hold enough for all those people.  This formulated syrupy sweet scenario needs to stop, like....now!

I want to like this show so much but they make it SO hard!

OK Trace can't have the bands he wants at his own bar and he can't make a living "following his dream" because he won't be there for Abby, even though she has a career and kids and probably doesn't have a lot of time for him anyway.   This is his prime time if he is going to make it in music.  It's not like he has already made it and he can choose to retire to spend more time with her.  I imagine they will break up and we will start all over again next season with them getting back together.  For one thing, he should try to make enough money to buy out Abby's Dad.  Never a good idea to go into business with family or friends.
