MissScarlett June 2, 2014 Share June 2, 2014 (edited) Renewed for a sixth and final season with only 13 episodes. I love this show! I am so sad that this coming season is the last. It looks like there will be major tears. :( http://www.buzzfeed.com/emilyorley/jason-katims-parenthood-final-season Edited June 2, 2014 by MissScarlett Link to comment
Hanahope June 27, 2014 Share June 27, 2014 Well it certainly sounds like there will be a major death in the final season. Link to comment
BoogieBurns June 27, 2014 Share June 27, 2014 What makes you think that? Pure speculation right? Link to comment
Blergh June 28, 2014 Share June 28, 2014 If this is true, does this mean that Zeek's mother Blanche [who was seen celebrating her 86th Birthday two seasons ago] would have to deal with outliving her child and how would the family help her out? It's one thing to outlive a parent, a sibling or even a spouse but outliving one's child? Link to comment
Hanahope June 30, 2014 Share June 30, 2014 Yes, its speculation based on this quote: “And to me, Parenthood is about, in a way, the cycle of life,” he continued. “You see these little kids become bigger kids and this season, you saw a shift in the patriarch going from Zeek to Adam [Peter Krause]. I think I would want the end to be about sort of that kind of change, that idea that something is passing and something is starting, something is beginning.” Since he talks about the 'cycle of life' and we've had a few births, but no deaths. It could just as easily be Camille I would think. I just always thought Zeke was more of the 'force' and thus his death would make for greater drama. Or maybe they will have it be Zeke's mom. Shermie July 4, 2014 Share July 4, 2014 Having Zeek's mother die would be a dramatic copout, since she was in only one episode and is never mentioned. It wouldn't feel like some big loss to the viewer. Having Zeek die would be much braver, since he's the head of the family and a central member of the cast. Of course, that nixes his chance to be in the inevitable reunion movie in 10 years. Link to comment
MilkMachine July 15, 2014 Share July 15, 2014 Above and beyond the season-long arc, Katims promised “as many storylines going on as there always are,” including a likely full-season presence for Ray Romano’s Hank and hopefully a final-season encore for Jason Ritter’s Mark. Barfy barf barf. Source. Link to comment
ShortyMac August 17, 2014 Share August 17, 2014 Barfy barf barf. Source. Agreed. I don't really like Mark or Hank. Link to comment
txhorns79 August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 It could just as easily be Camille I would think. Yes, but given the fact that she's been given so little to do during the course of the show, the real question would be, would anyone notice if she was dead? 1 Link to comment
AnythingCanBe August 26, 2014 Share August 26, 2014 Brace yourselves. This is happening. http://www.buzzfeed.com/emilyorley/nbc-just-dropped-an-insane-parenthood-plotline-b#85pler 10 bucks says Amber will give birth on the same day one of the grandparents dies. 1 Link to comment
BC Mama August 31, 2014 Share August 31, 2014 I hope the scene of Zeek giving advise to Drew is trying to comfort Drew after a brea-up! Link to comment
ShortyMac October 1, 2014 Share October 1, 2014 (edited) Video of Sarah and Amber talking about the pregnancy. Ryan is the father. Sarah is absolutely right. http://tvline.com/2014/10/01/parenthood-season-6-spoilers-amber-sarah-pregnant-baby/ Video of Joel and Julia fighting. http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/10/01/parenthood-joel-julia-season-6-episode-2/ Edited October 1, 2014 by ShortyMac Link to comment
txhorns79 October 2, 2014 Share October 2, 2014 Lauren Graham nailed that scene. I could literally feel Sarah's desire to strangle Amber right there, and that look of death Sarah gives her at the end is just classic. 1 Link to comment
ShadowFacts October 2, 2014 Share October 2, 2014 I'm glad Amber's all zen with the guitar strumming, it's good to not have stress flaring up during pregnancy, but Sarah's right, it's time to do some brainstorming and planning. I don't think she was too heavy-handed at all, very tactful. Link to comment
ShortyMac October 9, 2014 Share October 9, 2014 Mark will be back! Jason Ritter will be in Episode 9! http://www.buzzfeed.com/emilyorley/jason-ritter-is-returning-to-parenthood-for-the-final-season#1e7ahuj Link to comment
AnythingCanBe November 1, 2014 Share November 1, 2014 http://instagram.com/p/u1RC7sP0c3/ I just came across this photo. Does anyone else think they look like they're in a hospital? And it doesn't seem like Amber is the one hospitalized, so it's not for her to give birth. Link to comment
Pickles November 1, 2014 Share November 1, 2014 I had read a spoiler somewhere that there is a trip to the ICU. I am thinking Zeke. The spoiler also said this would bring Joel and Julia back together. Link to comment
alexvillage November 1, 2014 Share November 1, 2014 Is that Drew? It looks like a hospital or a doctor's office. And it looks like a break from filming Link to comment
doodlebug November 1, 2014 Share November 1, 2014 Maybe Amber has some sort of pregnancy related complication and they're waiting to see a specialist? Drew looks concerned enough. Of course, Amber doesn't look like she's sobbing uncontrollably as she is wont to do, so probably not. Link to comment
ShadowFacts November 2, 2014 Share November 2, 2014 I think the photo was taken by the actress who plays Julia, and if she was on set then the scene probably pertains to Zeek or maybe even Crosby and Amber and Drew are there with the rest of the family waiting. Link to comment
SoCal Mema November 4, 2014 Share November 4, 2014 It looks like Zeke's hands/shoes in the forefront of the picture, so not totally buying into him being the one at risk. Link to comment
Literata November 6, 2014 Share November 6, 2014 It looks like Zeke's hands/shoes in the forefront of the picture, so not totally buying into him being the one at risk. Yeah, that's definitely Zeek -- his hands, and his shoes. I'm standing by my theory: Crosby dies. Link to comment
Gooey November 6, 2014 Share November 6, 2014 Half thinking now that it's all been a fake out. No deaths at all but just a few cynically placed near misses instead. Link to comment
AnythingCanBe November 6, 2014 Share November 6, 2014 I'm not leaning toward it being Crosby only because that would be a lot of heavy lifting for Joy Bryant. I definitely don't think she's a bad actress, but I also don't think she'd be the writers' go-to for the most dramatic storyline the show has ever had. It's anyone's guess though. I would be in favor of having a bus take someone out Mean Girls-style in the series finale. Just because. Link to comment
Lovecat November 7, 2014 Share November 7, 2014 I would be in favor of having a bus take someone out Mean Girls-style in the series finale. Just because. Like Gary on Thirtysomething!! Good lord, I just realized that was more than twenty years ago. I was a Senior in college, and now I'm fortysomething :/ 1 Link to comment
Diane November 7, 2014 Share November 7, 2014 In the previews last night, didn't show Amber having pregnancy problems? Could that be what this is? Link to comment
alexvillage November 7, 2014 Share November 7, 2014 (edited) I thought about this too, Amber's baby. For two reasons: the announcement that someone will die, in the usual network fashion of hyperbole. And the fact that poor Amber can, again, smoke pot and get drunk, since this seems to be the whole reason for her to keep going. Edited November 7, 2014 by alexvillage Link to comment
Pickles January 23, 2015 Share January 23, 2015 There will be a three year flash forward at the end of the final episode. Joel and Julia will have another big change coming. Pregnancy? I suspect Amber and Ryan will be back together. Will everyone else be teaching st Snowflake Academy? I suppose Haddie will return and find a place there. Link to comment
ShadowFacts January 23, 2015 Share January 23, 2015 I hope no more pregnancies, though the name of the show is "Parenthood". I would rather see the various parents deal with the offspring they already have. Especially Joel and Julia, they had their hands full negotiating a new kid, their old kid and their jobs/at-home parenting. If Zeek does exit, or even if he doesn't, I would not be surprised to see Amber living with Camille or the both of them. They have a nice big house, she has a hovel. Lil Zeek needs to be out of that place. Link to comment
mojito January 24, 2015 Share January 24, 2015 I hope no more pregnancies, though the name of the show is "Parenthood". Most of the characters on this show are parents, however. Link to comment
