Kromm May 13, 2016 Share May 13, 2016 Gotta make one, but frankly I am not really anticipating anything with this many cliches in it's description: Quote Lawyer and former First Daughter Hayes Morrison (Atwell) is about to accept a job offered from her sexy nemesis, NY District Attorney Wayne Wallis, to avoid jail time for cocaine possession and avoid hurting her mother’s Senate campaign. Working with his team at the new Conviction Integrity Unit will let her use her brilliant mind to turn over cases where there is credible suspicion of wrongful conviction, and give her a chance to turn things around with her high-powered political family. There's a real stench coming from that. Sexy nemisis? Avoiding jail time? Parental political campaign? Good lord. 3 Link to comment

I don't know...I'm withholding judgment until I actually see an episodes. I think Hayley Atwell is a strong enough actress to elevate a lacking script...but I am going to miss her accent! 1 Link to comment
WendyCR72 May 17, 2016 Share May 17, 2016 Maybe the title has cursed it already. Let us remember, there was also a series called Conviction in 2006 on NBC, set in the same universe as L&O (but no L&O in the title, with the SVU character Alex Cabot as lead) about a group of young lawyers that lasted one season. It was cheesy. I think Conviction 2 needs to be careful not to be some huge cliché. Still, Hayley Atwell is likable, so maybe this one stands a chance. Link to comment
arjumand May 19, 2016 Share May 19, 2016 I just saw the trailer - I feel confident that I have now seen the pilot in its entirety. I know each story beat, and how the pilot ends. I mean, why? Why do that? And that's by no means the show's only problem: the other, in my opinion, is that while Hayley Atwell is likable, and the only reason I watched the trailer, her character is not. In fact, to me, she's the most unlikable protagonist I have seen in a show in a long, long time. I don't care about her issues, or any of her problems. I could barely finish the trailer - I can't imagine watching entire episodes based on this horrible human being. Link to comment
Chas411 May 22, 2016 Share May 22, 2016 Wow, I must be in the minority because I loved it. I love the cast and I loved her as a lead character. I found her very likeable and intriguing. Link to comment
Sakura12 May 23, 2016 Share May 23, 2016 This looks by the numbers, but I'll check it out of Hayley Atwell and to see her play a completely different character than Peggy Carter. 1 Link to comment
Mu Shu June 13, 2016 Share June 13, 2016 I saw a clip,. And loathed the lead woman. I only want to see episodes where Daniel Di Tomosso appears shirtless. With a beard. Maybe a little sweaty. Other than that, no thanks. Link to comment
Hanahope July 18, 2016 Share July 18, 2016 This is one of only 3 new shows I'm willing to try this fall, and its only because of Haley Atwell. So far, however, I'm not too hopeful it will last past my 3 episode tryout period. Link to comment

I'm sure at least a few people would love to see Hayley Atwell shirtless instead! I always love this interview, where Craig Ferguson is noticeably extra-cautious with his eyeline when he's interviewing her. 1 Link to comment
Trey August 29, 2016 Share August 29, 2016 I will probably give it a try. Sometimes the premise of a show is crappy but the execution is well done - I'll hope that is the case here. I always liked Eddie Cahill so I'll watch it for him. But if it's bad, he's not going to keep me watching. Link to comment
Tarasme September 8, 2016 Share September 8, 2016 As much as I flove Haley, I don't think I even love my kids enough to watch were they cast on this show. :( 1 Link to comment
Kirsty September 10, 2016 Share September 10, 2016 Atwell is fantastic, and I love the idea of the female antihero. I just looked up Eddie Cahill's age, and it turns out that at 38 he's only 4 years older than Hayley Atwell's 34. But he looks much older than her in the trailer, which is a shame. I would love if the show could produce a good romance storyline, so I hope his character wins me over. 1 Link to comment

Sandman September 21, 2016 Share September 21, 2016 Goodness knows I love Atwell, too -- and I'll really only be tuning in for her, but they might have lost me at "Wayne Wallis, Sexy Nemesis." Link to comment
maraleia September 23, 2016 Share September 23, 2016 I'm so conflicted about this show. I want to watch for Atwell and Merrin Dungey but I've heard it's not that good from a number of critics. Link to comment
sjohnson September 26, 2016 Share September 26, 2016 A show that isn't pro-police, pro-prosecutor, pro-convention is by definition not a cliche. To be a cliche it has to be used a lot. It's not even a trope. The so-called antihero, female or not, is a desperately tired cliche in Peak TV, though. In truth, the antiheroes are just plain heroes, which is to say, winners. There's no reason to think Hayley Atwell won't win, win, win. The trick will be in how they handle the sex. Double standards still exist, especially in TV, which is always behind the times (including the premium cables!) Link to comment
VCRTracking September 26, 2016 Share September 26, 2016 (edited) I think anti-heroes have to have something to struggle against. Life can not be all easy for them. Tony Soprano gets panic attacks and sees a therapist. House is in constant pain because of his leg and is addicted to vicodin. Walter White is dying from cancer. Don Draper is always afraid people will discover that he is a deserter and that he stole the identity of a dead man. Annalise on How To Get Away With Murder is a middle aged African-American bisexual woman living in America, etc. Hayley's character is the beautiful young daughter of a former president given a second chance instead of facing prison for crimes she committed. She's the poster girl for "white privilege"! I am just not going to root for this person. Edited September 26, 2016 by VCRTracking Link to comment
Tiger October 1, 2016 Share October 1, 2016 The promos for this scream "Its a typical CBS show, but on ABC, so with a female lead". But id watch Hayley Atwell read the phone book (though preferbly with her natural accent) so Im in till the bitter end. 3 Link to comment
romantic idiot October 3, 2016 Share October 3, 2016 I am excited and nothing in the new season has really caught my attention so far. I daresay my lack of taste is showing but am in. 1 Link to comment
