Sorry @Oranaiche I'm really not trying to quote you & I have no idea how to get rid of it :(

Anyway...if they burn as many calories as Danielle's fitbit thing claimed, they should be able to eat 2 Big Macs every day with no issue.

RE quoting...click on the quote box and it should become "highlighted".  Hit the delete button on keyboard (at least that's how I do it)

I post 100% of the time from my iPhone or iPad and the backspace button doesn't work for some reason when you're trying to delete a quote box. Then every time you try to reply to the thread that you accidentally hit quote in, the quote box pops up. It's maddening! Lol. The only way I've been able to get rid of accidental quotes is by completely clearing my internet cache, which is annoying since it signs me out of everything. I guess it must be different on a computer, but this has been my experience since the forum update.

Anyway, that's the end of my rant. :)

Re: Bytor -- no worries, I've done the quote thing a few times myself, lol.

yup Whataburger, In 'n' Out, Burgerville all real places. I know that as evidenced by my not being able to fit one leg into both sides of the shorts.

Lol .. I know In n Out which is btw the most delicious burger in the world and at a good price ... I too know because I split the seams of my dress along the zipper ... classy

Yeah if I burned that much calories a day, I'd be stuffing cupcakes in my mouth fulltime!

I use to run marathons and do competitive sports (so I would run 2 miles as a warm-up and then do an hour of high intensity practice).  Those were the days!!  I would eat 4 cupcakes at one sitting and still fit into my size 2 dresses.  Problem is when you stop playing sports and stop regularly / daily training, the body fights back and swells up.

Sad face... back to my salad

I'm still wondering why they were waiting for CMT after practice lol

I'm sure some girls were called in for feedback. They don't normally cut girls on the second night (Carla was a unique situation with her naked pics), but they do call girls in to let them know where they're at.

Well yeah, I was kind of more so trying to figure out who that would be. I'm wondering if it's good feedback or bad feedback lol. I know Madeline wasn't in the office cause she was on the snapchat with Holly.

Oh gotcha. Yeah no way to tell, lol. With so many girls it could be anyone.

I think it's great she wants to eat how she wants too. I don't think it matters at the moment what exactly she chooses to eat, she's already skinny and she's gonna work it all off in training camp anyway.

If I danced 6-7 hours a day, I'd be eating what I want lol. Good life habits? No! But a crime you can totally get away with as an athlete? Yes!

I feel like a BigMac scarfing pic is a humble brag. McDonalds his high fat, sugar, sodium, basically even their salads are junk, but she can eat them and still be DCC fit! Gag me with that burger like substance.

Because your spot in the entrance is based on your spot in Thunderstruck which is not known until the final cuts are made.

I found this video of Thunderstruck from what looks like a Belk store appearance.  Looked a little "sloppy" but maybe it was early in the season (crooked lines and a couple hands  - especially on the end by the camera - on the floor during the end of the jump split)

Honestly for the awkward space that they had to work with, I don't know how much better it could have been. Granted I couldn't take my eyes off Mia for most of the video, so I might have missed some stuff.

Wow, yeah. I can't believe they even did a jumpsplit on that narrow platform.

Yeah, I waited the whole video to see how they were going to pull off the jump split. Weird that they curved around like that when it looked like there was more room at the end of the runway.

I'd be a bit uncomfortable in the front row for that performance. I feel like jump splits and kicklines are something I'd rather see from a bit of a distance, LOL. Kind of like ballet. When you're close enough to hear the pointe shoes thumping on the stage, it ruins some of the illusion. What must it sound like when they all land that jump split right in front of your face.

I actually really like Holly's (but that was probably obvious considering my girl crush on her), Jenn's, and I think I'm going to go with Lacey as well.

I loved Lacey's!! I liked Holly's, too.

I get grossed out by people (some let their kids too) who drink soda with breakfast at a restaurant. Some of my co-workers start the day with a soda or energy drink.  Yuk. I like soda, mostly diet but drink it in moderation.

Lol I drink mine with breakfast. I also drink Diet Coke. I know it's not the best. I'm in poor health, so I allow myself this one vice. Haha. My students, family, even the store I frequent to buy them give me a hard time.

Can I just say.... I freaking HATE Thunderstruck. Year after year after year after year..... I can only imagine how bored the vets are having to perform that same tired routine every.single. year.  Listening to AC/DC scream that heavy metal song in the middle of a mall probably wasn't the most pleasant experience either. There has to be a DCC routine, ANY routine, that would be a better fan experience in that confined of a space.

I remember our band director saying it should be 8 to 5 so I count that when they are going across the field-8 steps to 5 yards.  I think they wait till the end to do the entrance where they can be more assured that most of the team is chosen so they have fewer adjustments to make.

Most of the entrance is 4 steps to every 5 yards.

I agree. They used to do the same routine but change the music before 2009/2010

Regarding "Thunderstruck":  they probably have licensing in place for that song.  Unfortunately, you can't just use any song in public without paying for its use.  More than likely, they got a deal on it and they're getting every penny out of it.

Well, first week of training camp is over.  I wonder who had a great week and who is nervous going in to next week?

While watching that video, I was thinking just how LONG that song is. And the moves seem to repeat without getting more energetic or whatever. The crowd in the department store is obviously more subdued than a football stadium, but it just felt like it was going on FOREVER.

I can see why they like it for the kick line though. The cymbals really line up nicely for the kicks (when it's finally time for that).

I kinda like Thunderstruck. Definitely more suited to a field than a store though. I think by now it's probably too late to change it though.. You hear Thunder, you expect DCC lol. Agree about the vets though! Imagine doing the same dance like a million times a year for 4 or 5 years Lol so boring

One a bouncy temporary stage the landings have to be super loud.

Cymbals on Thunderstruck - some of my cousins went to a school where that was kind of the football theme song, and the DCC have an edited version with some stuff left out, and the cymbals added in. They also added the cymbals s in loud, and whatever the song was back when they kicked to the Dallas TV show theme song. Cymbals make it easier to keep time and to emphasize the kicks.

I like Thunderstruck too. And I can't imagine anyone going into auditions not already knowing the kickline, minus the jump split. Wonder if they will learn the jump split early this year.

Oh my gosh YES!!!! this kills me every year!!! Judy screaming at them and fretting they won't be ready by the next week and hello, just teach it earlier! lol or if i was a rookie i'd force the vets to practice it with me!

I didn't know that! cool...I always liked Natalie.

Isn't her husband a pilot? I thought she mentioned that once...so yeah, they probably have crazy schedules right now, trying to figure out when they can see each other.

The cool thing with Jennifer is, if she doesn't get point, she will be completely sweet and gracious to who does.

Just catching up on the thread; yes Jennifer's husband is a pilot. I've seen her a few times at his work and met her once when they were here in Austin. She was very nice; we didn't talk DCC but I assume she knows Tyler tells everyone about her because he's very proud of her accomplishments.

I've been watching the older seasons lately and its so fun to see the current ladies as rookies and see how far they've come. I only started watching in real-time during season 9 so looking forward to seeing how far the rookies from that season go.

OK - I'm catching up on everything after a long weekend break. What the hell   (yes, HELL) is going on with those swimsuit photos for the cover? Wow, it's like the crummy cameos all over again.  This bunch was the BEST ? Jeez, what were the worst like?  On the whole; awkward poses, strange expressions, (constipated = HA, HA, HA, exactly!) basically a real disappointment.  These women are beautiful yet they look positively basic...ya know, nice looking but nothing to get too excited about.  Clearly the Cowboys organization is using photographers on the cheap these days. What else explains these low-budget pics. My favs?  How about none!?!

I love Loud as well! especially when Show Group does it with kick line added.

You'd be shocked how many girls audition now knowing the kick line or how to kick for that matter. Its shocking sometimes, but at auditions at semis and finals the do the kick line modified minus a few elements like the fan kicks, paper dolls, and the slide into the splits on both legs. I am excited for the first night of kicks on the practice field!

Seriously, first thing I'd have any of them do is splits on both sides and kick. Can't do either? Thank you, good bye.

I'm fairly sure at finals they do the kick line twice and slide into splits on both sides? 100% with you though. No point giving false hope to a girl that can't kick! You can't get a low kick to your face in 6/8 weeks as we saw last season. I wonder if there's been any drama in TC so far! So hoping Madeleine and Kelsey are proving that they both really do deserve to be there..

Holly P and Madeleine seem to be together a lot. (Snapchat) I hope Holly is showing her the ropes!

I know Madeline got to see Holly once or twice during this past year so I do think Holly has taken her under her wing to try to help her out as much as possible! makes me so happy because Holly rocks at the DCC style of dance so I know she will be a good example in that way for Madeline.

But agree, hope Madeline and Kelsey are killing it! I admit Kelli Quinn has grown on me too. Sometimes I think she looks a little old in the face but she seems like such a sweet person and very poised.

HollyP was one of my faves from last year; so happy she's helping Maddie out because it looks like Maddie took all the recommendations seriously and came back determined to make the team.

Holly was at Sam Finglass's graduation (she was Valedictorian) and her hair looks so much better. I feel her pain with her hair, I think we probably have the same thin, fine hair that just doesn't look good long. If I go past my shoulders it looks stringy no matter what I do, what products I use etc. I'm watching the older seasons and Ann Lux has the style I think they're trying to get Holly's hair to do (probably without the dark/light chunks that were popular a few years back).

They do the routine and the kickline twice at Semi-Finals, and the routine and kickline once on the field at finals. Some girls like Mackenzie can improve their kicks during TC.

So Holly P is now BFF's w/ Kelli's daughter?  We're any other DCC at her graduation?  Did Holly P know her at all before moving to Texas for DCC?   What a kiss up if not ;).

I didn't recognize anyone else in the picture (besides Kelli obvi); I've seen quite a few pics of Sam on Holly's social media so they've been hanging out awhile. I don't think Holly needs to kiss up too much based on her getting a Barbie last week. Who knows what TC will show, but that girl is in the gym 24/7 so doubt they'll call her on her weight this year...hair...yes, weight probably not (as I sit here scarfing down a bowl of cheez-itz).

I'm unsure what they could say about her hair.. They're in control of that so that's on them lol. If they call holly out for weight I'll be so cross.. because that girl is so obviously doing everything she can to stay lean!

How does it work when the season starts? Do we stick to this thread for each episode? Or will there be more threads made?

I ask because they're not available on Youtube over here until a few days after they've aired ?

Lovely! Thanks :-)

first cuts are normally made like 3 weeks into training camp aren't they? They have sooooo many girls they need to cut this year unless they're gonna have a huge team again

The one I'm curious about is Jackie Shaw. There's been no buzz about her whatsoever. She doesn't have much of a presence on social media, and I think I saw maybe two photos of her during this year's auditions. She was a finalist last year, but I don't remember hearing anything about her back then either. As far as I know, she hasn't been on any of the JV teams. I'm curious about her background.
