This is very interesting. There was a Vanity Fair article on Joe & his entourage in 2016. They were following him arund the GOP convention in Cleveland. They were making fun of his idea of a Trump musical after the election.

I was rushing to get ready for an appointment this morning, so was not really watching the Avenatti appearance; only could hear bits of it.  I am sure it is just me because I can't stand...well, you know.  But from what I could hear (and not see) I thought Meeka kind of embarrassed herself this morning with trying to badger Avenatti and, as said above, try to get a scoop.  It was like she was shoving her journalistic "credentials" down everyone's throat.  I could watch Avenatti read the phone book.  Mr. Kemper, of course, was no help when I called out for his opinion; the iPad and hockey score was waaay more important.  I just wish Meeka would have just questioned him like a normal person; and not an Edward R Murrow wannabe.  I know, probably just me.

In the segment before Avenatti, an author came on and said she wasn't surprised by the Trump election because of this reason and that reason... and Mika grumbled approval, and then said, "but mainly the complicity of the political infotainment industry giving Trump air time to generate revenue and not asking him serious questions..." and Mika squeals, "Oh we know.  We've known that here for a long time.  The records show we were tough on him.  Others let him slide."  [all that's paraphrased]
I rolled my eyes so hard I was blind for a moment.  She has no idea, does she?  She's not a liar, she's just oblivious.

I agree.  She blabs out her questions and then looks around the table to make sure everyone is paying attention to her and usually misses the answer and potential for a good follow up question.

Thursday Recap while packing for a trip to Montreal. Mika is wearing a beautiful red dress. Joe is there. Mika & Joe on set together!. Joe said his sources from the Obama administration said that Ronny was not driving drunk & crashing cars. He was Obama's doctor. Why was he handing out Ambien pills on planes.

Joe admitted that he was critical of Ronny Jackson but his sources said he is not as incompetent as the media is making him out to be.

Katty Kay said Macron has a better relationship with Trump that the British PM.

Macro likes to flatter Trump so Trump is happy with him.

Joe made fun of Kanye West & other rappers liking Trump. Willi said that Trump used to be popular with rappers & celebrities before he ran for President.

I find it fascinating that Trump was a big star at NBC from 2004-2015 with the Apprentice. Yet when he decided to run for President they turned on him.

Was everyone at NBC covering up for Trump's erratic behavior ?

And I don't believe they are dating.  She seems to be very happily married and I believe their relationship is strictly professional although I would still love to know how the two of them came in contact with each other in the first place.

Thanks!, My daughter was accepted at  McGill University , so we are touring the campus. She wants to compare McGill to Queens & Western University. I told her Mika's late dad graduated from McGill & that our current prime Minister graduated from McGill. My daughter does not like Mika.

I am curious about the author from flyover country saying that the infotainment industry boosted Trump's campaign for ratings. I have been saying this about Morning Joe since 2015.

Leibovich said that Trump filled a vaccuum. Peters said Trump is a bodyguard for evangelicals.

Joe said problems started with Clinton's impeachment in 1999 & the Election recount in 2000, 9/11, Iraq War, Afghanistan war, Financial crisis, Foreclosure Crisis.

Speaking of evangelicals and Trump, yesterday I was watching an episode of "City Confidential" from the 1990s. ("City Confidential" is the show that hooked me on true crime shows. It has the most hilarious purple prose, but I love it. Oh, and Paul Winfield's narration doesn't hurt.) Anyway, the true crime in question occurred in Sebring, FL, a sleepy town in the middle of the state that is a haven for retirees looking for the quiet life. PW said that "Sebring is to Palm Beach as Billy Graham is to Donald Trump." How times have changed.

Sarah Kendzior. I used to follow her, but she did a lot of emotional panicking about the state of democracy and institutions that was just way overwrought awhile ago that even I had to unfollow her. She might have calmed down a little now, or gotten worse about it lol, I haven't checked back. I think she's a poli-sci PhD based in St. Louis.

This was just embarrassing to watch. The only thing worse than having to watch/listen to Mika stumble and stammer through a simple news-read is watching her when she tries to do her "serious journalist" schtick.

They answered.  I had my back to the TV but the several people who answered said that Trump has already rolled back more policy and enacted more policy in favor of evangelicals than Reagan and the Bushes combined.
