Starleigh July 10, 2020 Share July 10, 2020 Any good suggestions for a cream foundation or even a tinted moisturizer? I have always just used face powder (usually the Clinique Double powder one) but feel like I need to try something different. Nothing too heavy, though. Link to comment

Tarte also has a very nice one in their Maracuja line. And if you like Clinique, they have recently released a tinted version of their (very awesome) Moisture Surge moisturizer. Looks like something I will definitely try in the future (I love Clinique's moisturizers, and their Moisture Surge overnight mask is my fave sleeping mask). 1 Link to comment
chenoa333 September 11, 2020 Share September 11, 2020 (edited) I'm running out of money for experimental hair products that make my hair look sleek, smooth and shiny. Especially when i pull it back in a ponytail. I have so many wispy ends, new hair growth standing straight up. I look like a crazy person. Any product suggestions that won't make it look like I put Wesson oil in my hair? Thanks in advance. ETA: many of the products I've tried smell awful. Like renewing Argan Oil of Morocco...smells like mens' cologne from the dollar store. Edited September 11, 2020 by chenoa333 Link to comment

I'm wondering if a keratin treatment or a Brazilian blow out would help, but I'm trying to baby the new hair as much as possible. Edited September 11, 2020 by emma675d Link to comment
MargeGunderson September 11, 2020 Share September 11, 2020 I can recommend Olaplex no. 6 for the ends, but for the part and hairline, I got nothing. Link to comment

I've tried most brands of Argan oil, some type of Bed Head hair smoother, a couple of products from Sally Beauty, hair spray. I can't even remember all of the products. There must be something that works. I'm just a Caucasian woman with almost no frizz to my hair. How does Kim Kardashian do it? Or that girl from the pussycat dolls? And Emma675 I will come back here and post if I ever find something that works! 1 Link to comment

I don’t think so - I usually get mine at Sephora. It’s available on Amazon too. It’s pricey, but I only use a little at a time so a bottle lasts me 6 months (my hair is barely shoulder length). I can’t put it anywhere near my roots as it makes my hair look plastered to my head. I have very fine hair though, so if yours is more voluminous it might work just fine. 2 Link to comment

I can’t say that I’ve ever noticed the smell, which probably means it’s pretty mild and pleasant. I usually notice if it’s really strong or is overly floral/citrusy/fake-coconut, etc. 1 Link to comment

Thanks. I think I got it at Sally's beauty supply. I definitely would not have gotten it at a department store. I was at grad school and that wouldn't have been in my price range. 1 Link to comment

emma675 October 24, 2022 Share October 24, 2022 Anyone have a recommendation for a good eye cream? I need something thicker for overnight, specifically ultra moisturizing. I'm not worried about dark circle or eye bags, just something that will help with dry skin around the eyes. Link to comment

I’ve found Clinique All About Eyes Rich to be good when I’ve wanted something thicker and with heavier moisturizing power. 1 Link to comment

I've used a few (I do the fab fit fun box so I use whatever I get in it) and the two I've liked a lot so far is Algenist Eye Renewal Balm and Verso Super Eye Serum. 1 Link to comment

Not eye cream specifically, but Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask can be used around the eye area. I use it as a full face nighttime moisturizer. 1 Link to comment
Scatterbrained June 24, 2023 Share June 24, 2023 I accidentally purchased the Purifying Gel Cleanser from Glo Skin Beauty. I was determined to finish it before purchasing my intended product so as not to waste money. It has been slow going as it really doesn’t do anything for my skin. Recently, I ran out of shampoo and my scalp was feeling extra oily so I felt I really needed something. In desperation, I used the cleanser. It was a bit thick, so I thinned it slightly with a bit of water in my palm. The result: OMG! It makes a GREAT clarifying shampoo! My hair has never been so soft or shiny! LOL! I should probably add that I have “virgin hair”. I don’t color or treat it in any way. 1 Link to comment
annzeepark914 August 19, 2023 Share August 19, 2023 A while back I had asked if anyone knew what hairdressers put on our hair to make it sleek. I think I posted in chitchat. Never did find out until a week ago. I go to Hair Cuttery every once in a while for just a shampoo & style (this would cost way too much at my regular salon!). The woman who does my hair thought it could be Cibu Nourishing Gloss. She said to put it on dry hair. Well, the directions say to apply to damp hair before styling. I put it on damp hair and blew it dry. Nothing! Yesterday, I decided to apply to my hair after blow/styling it dry. Voila! It's sleek & there's hardly any frizz. My hair is not weighed down (& its fine textured). So it works when applied after you dry your hair. Link to comment
