"The View": Week of 10/26/15

If whoopi didn't want to be around explosions, someone else could have been in that segment.

But raven was worse. She gave some attitude to the girl dressed as Kim Davis. Granted, it wasn't a very good costume, but I'm sure it wasn't the child's choice. The kid was doing as she was told, and raven had no reason to comment "I have no idea!" As the kid walked offstage. Then raven INTERRUPTS the science guy to announce "I'm going to put some safety goggles on" while holding up headphones!! And she continued to treat him rudely during the segment. They really rushed the guests off as fast as they could. I get that there are time constraints, but they can cut out the bathroom jokes, and let the guests talk for more than 5 seconds.

Have Seth McFarlane do the bit with the dancing scientist, that would have been 100 times better.

Some explain To me the helpful tip about using leftover Halloween candy. You melt hard candy like jolly ranchers, put sticks in them, and when they harden you have........jolly rancher suckers? Really?

Basically the tip was - if you don't want your kids to eat all that candy, make it into candy. Except for chocolate candy, put that in cookies.

I did crack up over the Christmas wreath made of chocolate kisses, to hang on your door. Uh huh. Let's hope your door doesn't face the sun.

The best part of the show was the kid View costumes. They were cute.

I watched until I couldn't stand it any more.  Pathetic, lame, shameful ....   

Same here and that was less than five minutes - to see the costumes. When they started introducing people like London and Bure and Goldberg, I was out.      Thanks to all those who stuck it out and took one for the team to report back.  I feel validated, lol.   

 

I like Halloween.  And I like seeing clever creative costumes on adults (Ellen last year was Amal and George Clooney, lol) and cute and/or scary stuff on the kids.  But I agree that some of these shows make it more about Hollywood than Halloween.  For a show with such shitty production values, this show sure blew a bundle on costumes/makeup today.  Or maybe not since it was all Disney so they probably borrowed them.  I don't really know but it really didn't take any creativity that I could see.

I think it's more that Paula doesn't care what she thinks. Both Michelle and Raven reguarly kiss up to Whoopi and Joy/Whoopi are friends. Paula clearly doesn't care for Whoopi either, but at least she has some decorum and dignity. We know Whoopi has neither of those qualities. Hopefully Whoopi'll end up hanging herself (again), just like last year.

The peeing thing was disgraceful.  Could they have not edited the segment or run it again?  I've seen more professionalism from high school presentations.

 

The candy thing made no sense to me either.  Mostly it was being recycled into different forms of candy?

 

Luckily I'm Canadian so I can fast forward through all the embarrassing satellite hook ups and politician interviews because it's not information I'm going to use.  Then again, most of this show is information I won't use.

Watching this week's shows on DVD, I noticed something interesting about when Nathan Lane was on. So many stars walk in and hug everyone, and give a special hug to whoop. Nathan and Devlin walk past whoopi, right to their chairs, then shake hands with the other 4 hosts, but NOT whoopi. I even caught Nathan giving her a weird look at one point. He certainly avoided interacting with her at all, kept huddling with Joy.

I adore Nathan Lane, always have. I wonder what his thoughts are. He and whoop both did voices on the lion king movie many years ago. Usually any celebrity who has any connection to whoop ends up sitting next to her.

I must say that I loved him for not treating her like she's some kind of hollywood royalty, though. It was refreshing.

My bold.  I really admired her when she started The View.  It was the first (I think) of it's kind & really interesting.  But ..... she over-stayed her welcome & Geddie had his own agenda, so she lost control & the show lost it's appeal.  Just sayin'.

Could not agree more....and the original guest hosts were great (well, not Debbie and later Star for her bridezilla crap....

Personally, I think that is when BW lost control of the show and gave it all to Geddes.

So we end up with Hasselbeck, Shepherd, McCarthy, Perez (we never hear about these days that I am aware of) and now get Symone, Collins.....and Wallace fired.

Whoopi targeted her threats - RO and now Faris.....probably CCB soon. Wallace was definitely brown-nosing WG.

As she (Wallace) does on Morning Joe yet got shredded after the last GOP debate later on MSNBC.

Nathan Lane is a very good friend to Rosie. When I saw how he treated Whoopi I thought that he was being loyal to his friend because Whoopi was such a bitch to her when she came back. Good for him. I guess it's subjective, but (to me) Nathan Lane out-ranks Whoopi Goldberg in the universe of legendary performers.  He is an esteemed member of the Broadway community and has been in one sold-out show after another for decades.  And of course, he's a film actor and has had many continuing characters in countless episodic television series' (past and present).   And, clearly, he's not asleep at the wheel and sees what a nasty bitch Whoopi is, so….no need to pander or kiss a**.  He was not suffering a fool.

I don't think Whoopi is as beloved by celebrities as she thinks she is. Once upon a time maybe but being on the View and showing us her true colors hasn't done her any favors. And as mentioned above Rosie has a lot of celebrity friends.

Are we seeing a promising trend here? Finally, the cohosts are standing up to Whoopi or at least not kissing her butt. Paula's not going to take it, neither is Raven. And even Whoopi with her inflated ego knows better than to try to pull rank on Joy.  

That Halloween show was pretty bad, and Whoopi's performance didn't help any.

The View has fallen so far off of my radar that I don't even think to bother to tune in anymore.  Because when I do, I am either bored to tears or mad with rage.  The only reason I even came here just now to check out this thread is because I am watching The Wendy Williams Show and she just talked about Whoopi's bathroom break on Friday's show.  So I had to come here to see what that was all about.  With Whoopi on board, The View manages to sink lower & lower; to levels so low that they didn't even exist before on tv.  Take Jerry Springer low and then dig down about 40 more feet or so.

 

Oh, and then there's this -- I read a post a few days back here reporting that Whoopi actually called Rob Ford a former Prime Minister of Canada.  The mind just boggles at this point, people, as to WHY & HOW this useless piece of shit is still on-air.
