Bills win it 24-20!! Terrific game, both are elite teams and both QB’s made big plays, but the Bills defense stepped up and got some huge stops late and that was a bad pick by Mahomes, he was trying too hard to make a play, that was the second pick of the game for him and both times he was trying too hard to make something happen. The big stops the Bills defense got late made the difference. Both of these teams are pretty evenly matched and have a lot of talent and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they met again in the postseason.

Call Romo annoying or whatever name you want, but he knows his stuff. He predicted a 24-20 game from the beginning and that is the score. Woo Bills!

I don't have a problem with Tony.  Despite getting paid a ton of money to do nothing but call Sunday football games, he's alright.  However, I might have to take that with a grain of salt.  That's really because people can't pick games that they are calling.  Though I believe it was the score and not an actual team

I'm tempering my expectations and not planning the Super Bowl parade just yet. The Bills beat the Chiefs last year- and much more emphatically- and they still lost to them in the playoffs. At Arrowhead.

This year's team might have a lot more character and resilience than last year but still need to remind myself that it's a long season.

I don’t get why Brady unretired, I guarantee now he wishes he had stayed retired given that things aren’t clicking for the Bucs and this season has been a struggle so far. I just don’t really get why Brady returned, I mean I won’t count him out as long as he plays as he’s clearly the GOAT, but he’s got absolutely nothing left to prove and there was no reason for him to come back.

It's probably like a drug that he can't give up.  I've listened to several ex-NFL players talk about how difficult it is to retire when they still love playing the game.  I surely can't say that about my job!!  Things just aren't clicking for the Bucs this season.  Sigh.  They're looking like the S.O.B.'s - same old Bucs.

Maybe he just wants to play football.

Regarding the Vikings, I'm definitely happy we are 5-1. (Yay! Eagles just scored a touchdown again! 14-0) but although we are playing better this year, I feel we're not that much better than last year, except we're winning the close games instead of losing them. But it's still a battle with not that great teams. I hope we can win the next two games (Cardinals, Commanders) because after that is Bills and Cowboys. Jets won't be easy either or the Giants.

But Cousins has had at least one passing touchdown for 18 games in a row, best in NFL, and Jefferson, Thielen and Cook are doing great!

I think getting a new coach helped the Vikings a lot - seems like everyone was tired of Zimmer and O’Connell has given the team new life and new energy. I like what the Vikings have and I think they are a good team but I still don’t trust Cousins completely, he’s a good QB but he frequently chokes under pressure and he’ll need to get to that next level if the Vikings want to contend for the title in a wide open NFC.

That's exactly it. I've said it many times myself. The thing is, for the vast majority of NFL players- heck, the vast majority of professional athletes, period- the choice to retire really isn't theirs to make, they just wind up, through natural regression, getting to the point where coaches and GMs prefer younger players who are cheaper and will give you roughly the same level of contribution (with greater potential).

Tom Brady is a special kind of player. He's so good and his pedigree is so high that he could play forever if that's what he wanted. Realistically, I'm not sure Brady is anywhere close to the player whom, in 2007, Ron Jaworski described as putting up "video game stats". Perhaps, too, the Bucs might have been better served going in a different direction at quarterback, and maybe after this season, they might think of doing so.

...but, as the Patriots themselves show and the Vikings and Saints showed after Brett Farve and Drew Brees (respectively), replacing a quarterback like Brady is no easy task. Even at half of what he was, Brady is still the best option at QB if you have him, because you're not likely going to get anyone better since those teams will keep those guys.

So, as long as you want Brady to come back, he'll keep coming back.

Honestly, I'm not sure the problem in Tampa is Brady. The Bucs, like the Patriots late in Brady's tenure there, seem to always have some rough patches early in the season before things get figured out when the games matter most. Remember, Tampa won the Super Bowl as a wildcard.

Sure things look bad now and the Buccaneers need to turn things around in a hurry, but, unless we're talking about Tampa Bay at 3-7 in a month's time, I'm not writing them- or Brady- off.

Eagles seem lifeless since the end of the 2nd quarter while the Cowboys have found their mojo. The momentum has totally shifted to the Cowboys. How can u be up 20-0 and then start playing crappy like that, especially the defense.   Not sure I can watch the rest of this game.

Vikings do that every game. No scores during the third quarter so far this season. But we come back in the 4th.

And Eagles just got an interception!

Eagles beat the Cowboys 26-17, very solid win for the Eagles, a complete team effort as they controlled the game on both sides of the ball and they have a strong team, they go to 6-0. I think this game blows apart the idiotic theory that the Cowboys are better without Dak, as Rush struggled for much of the night, he threw 3 picks and had a completion percentage under 500, and he’s clearly not as talented as Dak, they will need Dak to be healthy in order to make a playoff run.

Well I was 7 - 9 on my week 5 picks, I suppose that's not too bad considering I picked who I wanted to win opposed to who is the better team. On to week 6!

Commanders* vs. Bears (looking forward to another enthralling game)
Vikings* vs Dolphins

Patriots* vs Browns
49ers vs Falcons*
Buccaneers vs Steelers*
Bengals* vs Saints
Ravens vs Giants*
Jets* vs Packers
Jaguars vs Colts*
Cardinals vs Seahawks* (don't really care but lime green highlighter suits are weird!)
Panthers vs Rams*
Bills* vs Chiefs
Cowboys vs Eagles* (I want the Cowboys' spirits broken before Vikings play them)
Broncos vs Chargers

I'm doing pretty well with my picks so far - 9 right and 4 wrong.

Bold is who I picked to win and * asterisk is who actually won.

Think we’ll find out tonight just how big the NFL is against everyone else.

MNF has an exciting, yet inconsistent quarterback going against a team that is not very good, and everyone seems to be mad at.  Baseball has an elimination game with a team chasing history against the marquee franchise (I know how obnoxious that is, but I don’t think I’m wrong).

The ratings for TBS vs. ESPN will be interesting.

I can get behind that!

I have one more sorta nice thing to say about Brady - it’s too bad his personal life got put out into the open, because all it’s going to do is hurt all parties involved.  Apparently some kid yesterday had a (parent-approved, most likely) shitty sign in the crowd in Pittsburgh and while it’s an unwritten rule that nothing is off limits, some things should be off limits.

I hope that Jerry Jones enjoyed his 80th birthday last night (his birthday was on Thursday) watching his Cowboys going down against the Eagles. His birthday got ruined last night & it made me very happy. His sadness when those loser Cowboys lose always bring a smile to my face. Hopefully there will be some more of that during the season & especially the Playoffs.

As for the Monday Night game tonight, neither the Broncos or the Chargers are likable & rootable, so there goes another game where I wish that both teams would lose. Plus, Russell Wilson is very loathsome.

I actually thought the Giants were going to lose that game for most of the week. They do NOT have a sparkling record against the Ravens historically, and the Ravens were something like 12-0 against NFC teams with Jackson at QB.

But then on Friday and Saturday I heard a few guys on the radio talking about what the game and I flipped my pick to the Giants +5.5, mostly because I started to get annoyed about the lack of respect.

And also the belief that Wink's experience with the Ravens would allow him and Kafka to figure out ways to attack the Ravens as the game went along.

Next up on the Giants schedule is @ Jacksonville, @ Seattle, bye, Houston, Detroit, and then @ Dallas 4:30 Thanksgiving.  They need to stay focused and healthy, because it will be all sorts of fun to see them hit that Dallas game with a really good record.

As a Steeler fan anyone who beats the Ravens is fine by me.  Also they beat NE twice in the SB so I will always have a soft spot for them.

The Dallas Thanksgiving game is more often than not a a snooze.  But this game has the potential to be really good and have important consequences.  That division will most likely send two if not three teams to the playoffs.

What would motivate the betting public to consider the Giants a team that should be favored would be a nice easy 35-10 victory as opposed to three times this year having to rally back from 10 point deficits in the fourth quarter.

At this point, it seems like the coaches are going out of their way to be trailing 20-10 so they can tell Jones "you've got them right where you want them."

Robbie Anderson pitched a fit on the sidelines yesterday during the Panthers game and got banned to the locker room. Today he got traded to Arizona. Also the backup, backup, backup QB got injured so we pulled a guy from the practice squad and in true Panthers fashion we managed to lose the lead and the game. Panthers have been a shit show since our SB appearance in 2016. I’ve been attending one game a year since around 2009 but I’m done now.

Yeah robbie Andersons 'punishment' is being traded to another team

Though it is the Cardinals.  Not a huge upgrade.  But at least they have a competent qb
