Xeliou66 October 16, 2022 Share October 16, 2022 Bills win it 24-20!! Terrific game, both are elite teams and both QB’s made big plays, but the Bills defense stepped up and got some huge stops late and that was a bad pick by Mahomes, he was trying too hard to make a play, that was the second pick of the game for him and both times he was trying too hard to make something happen. The big stops the Bills defense got late made the difference. Both of these teams are pretty evenly matched and have a lot of talent and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they met again in the postseason. 5 Link to comment

Despite getting paid a ton of money to do nothing but call Sunday football games, he's alright. However, I might have to take that with a grain of salt. That's really because people can't pick games that they are calling. Though I believe it was the score and not an actual team 1 1 Link to comment

Carey October 16, 2022 Share October 16, 2022 This might cost me due to "in the moment" BS, but in a rare super early prediction, I've committed to Buffalo's future. In other words, barring injury, AND remembering my picks, the Bills WILL be defeating Cincinnati AND Kansas City if they meet again in January. Not that rare in terms of early picking of games, but very rare months in advance Link to comment

Danielg342 October 17, 2022 Share October 17, 2022 I'm tempering my expectations and not planning the Super Bowl parade just yet. The Bills beat the Chiefs last year- and much more emphatically- and they still lost to them in the playoffs. At Arrowhead. This year's team might have a lot more character and resilience than last year but still need to remind myself that it's a long season. 2 7 Link to comment

I just don’t really get why Brady returned, I mean I won’t count him out as long as he plays as he’s clearly the GOAT, but he’s got absolutely nothing left to prove and there was no reason for him to come back. I surely can't say that about my job!! Things just aren't clicking for the Bucs this season. Sigh. They're looking like the S.O.B.'s - same old Bucs. 1 5 Link to comment

Lamb18 October 17, 2022 Share October 17, 2022 (edited) Regarding the Vikings, I'm definitely happy we are 5-1. (Yay! Eagles just scored a touchdown again! 14-0) but although we are playing better this year, I feel we're not that much better than last year, except we're winning the close games instead of losing them. But it's still a battle with not that great teams. I hope we can win the next two games (Cardinals, Commanders) because after that is Bills and Cowboys. Jets won't be easy either or the Giants. But Cousins has had at least one passing touchdown for 18 games in a row, best in NFL, and Jefferson, Thielen and Cook are doing great! Edited October 17, 2022 by Lamb18 1 1 Link to comment

I think getting a new coach helped the Vikings a lot - seems like everyone was tired of Zimmer and O’Connell has given the team new life and new energy. I like what the Vikings have and I think they are a good team but I still don’t trust Cousins completely, he’s a good QB but he frequently chokes under pressure and he’ll need to get to that next level if the Vikings want to contend for the title in a wide open NFC. 1 3 Link to comment

The thing is, for the vast majority of NFL players- heck, the vast majority of professional athletes, period- the choice to retire really isn't theirs to make, they just wind up, through natural regression, getting to the point where coaches and GMs prefer younger players who are cheaper and will give you roughly the same level of contribution (with greater potential). Tom Brady is a special kind of player. He's so good and his pedigree is so high that he could play forever if that's what he wanted. Realistically, I'm not sure Brady is anywhere close to the player whom, in 2007, Ron Jaworski described as putting up "video game stats". Perhaps, too, the Bucs might have been better served going in a different direction at quarterback, and maybe after this season, they might think of doing so. ...but, as the Patriots themselves show and the Vikings and Saints showed after Brett Farve and Drew Brees (respectively), replacing a quarterback like Brady is no easy task. Even at half of what he was, Brady is still the best option at QB if you have him, because you're not likely going to get anyone better since those teams will keep those guys. So, as long as you want Brady to come back, he'll keep coming back. Honestly, I'm not sure the problem in Tampa is Brady. The Bucs, like the Patriots late in Brady's tenure there, seem to always have some rough patches early in the season before things get figured out when the games matter most. Remember, Tampa won the Super Bowl as a wildcard. Sure things look bad now and the Buccaneers need to turn things around in a hurry, but, unless we're talking about Tampa Bay at 3-7 in a month's time, I'm not writing them- or Brady- off. 3 Link to comment

Xeliou66 October 17, 2022 Share October 17, 2022 Eagles beat the Cowboys 26-17, very solid win for the Eagles, a complete team effort as they controlled the game on both sides of the ball and they have a strong team, they go to 6-0. I think this game blows apart the idiotic theory that the Cowboys are better without Dak, as Rush struggled for much of the night, he threw 3 picks and had a completion percentage under 500, and he’s clearly not as talented as Dak, they will need Dak to be healthy in order to make a playoff run. 1 2 Link to comment

mojoween October 17, 2022 Share October 17, 2022 Think we’ll find out tonight just how big the NFL is against everyone else. MNF has an exciting, yet inconsistent quarterback going against a team that is not very good, and everyone seems to be mad at. Apparently some kid yesterday had a (parent-approved, most likely) shitty sign in the crowd in Pittsburgh and while it’s an unwritten rule that nothing is off limits, some things should be off limits. 2 Link to comment

Hopefully there will be some more of that during the season & especially the Playoffs. JTMacc99 October 17, 2022 Share October 17, 2022 I actually thought the Giants were going to lose that game for most of the week. They do NOT have a sparkling record against the Ravens historically, and the Ravens were something like 12-0 against NFC teams with Jackson at QB. But then on Friday and Saturday I heard a few guys on the radio talking about what the game and I flipped my pick to the Giants +5.5, mostly because I started to get annoyed about the lack of respect. And also the belief that Wink's experience with the Ravens would allow him and Kafka to figure out ways to attack the Ravens as the game went along. Next up on the Giants schedule is @ Jacksonville, @ Seattle, bye, Houston, Detroit, and then @ Dallas 4:30 Thanksgiving. They need to stay focused and healthy, because it will be all sorts of fun to see them hit that Dallas game with a really good record. 1 Link to comment
