This was off the chain with violence and mayhem. I loved it, even if it was insane. That sure is one creepy kid. Little Devil Johnny wants mommy to be his concubine. That was not disturbing at all.

The cool thing about this show is that everyone who was apparently killed could only be mostly dead instead of all dead.

Poor Cotton and John. I want to hold them both and bake them cookies.

Wow, Satan sure is stupid killing and/or scaring off all his loyal followers. That made no sense to me. And if Satan is so powerful/strong why couldn't he just command, as in force, his mother to stay. And speaking of Mary, she sure turned Rosemary's Baby on its head.

Although I'm betting she doesn't stay dead.

Satan has mommy issues. He wouldn't let Tituba be unpunished because she hurt his mommy. Mercy hurt his mommy, and the Baroness tried to kill his mommy. He can always get more followers. He can't get another mommy. Little Johnny is sure going to save Mary's life somehow.

I was a little underwhelmed, possibly because two of my favourite characters kicked the bucket and yet nutjob Mercy, dirtbag Magistrate Hale and the terminally boring John Alden still live to see another day.

It's been obvious for a while now that the writers have had little idea of what to do with Tituba, but that was such a stupid ending for a character who has has pretty much done everything she's been told since the very beginning. And though I'm sure we'll see Countess Marburg again (Sebastian's scene with the corpse demonstrated as much) it's doubtful she'll be back as Lucy Lawless.

Anne Hale has certainly crossed the line in ramming her familiar down Cotton's throat, and by doing so become a second Mary Sibley. I liked that there were both sides to the argument between Anne and Cotton: on the one hand Anne is a free spirit yet her gender means she's been stifled at every turn; on the other she's definitely not doing the right thing when she strips away Cotton's free will. Something tells me they won't be walking off into the sunset together.

Sebastian became more and more interesting in the last handful of episodes; he seems to genuinely love Mary, and if there's one thing to look forward to in season three (has it been greenlit yet?) it's his relationship with his newfound sister.

I sure hope there's a therapist standing by for the kid that's playing Little John. Repeating lines about how he wants to screw his mother and stabbing another woman to death can't be healthy!

Well, that delivered some surprises. Hoping for a Season 3 to see what happens next.

I figured Satan wouldn't be as enamored with the Countess as she was with him. Sebastian did become a lot more interesting. I'm glad the door is open for the Countess' return, though I agree, she'll probably get a new face.

No way Mary stays dead. Good chance Tituba is dead, dead, unfortunately. I too wish Mercy had died.

Poor Cotton is the new George. I probably should have seen it coming, but I didn't. The Cotton and Anne scenes were so sad. When Anne first cast the love spell, I expected Cotton to go mad, but I think the fact that he did love her allowed him to stay somewhat sane and retain much of his free will. I like that Anne wants to do good, but the girl is drunk on power.

Don't think either Mary or Tituba is dead dead, possibly only sort of temporarily dead. Since they made a point of showing her eyes missing, maybe she becomes the new seer.

So now Ann Hale is the queen witch. I didn't see that coming, although looking back, it was set up pretty well with her being both an Essex witch and Countess M's daughter.

Also, just read that Shane West, Janet Montgomery, Seth Gabel, Ashley Madekwe, Iddo Goldberg, Brannon Braga and Adam Simon will be at the San Diego Comic-Con in July, so looks like a probable S3 with nobody dead dead except maybe the Countess.

They sure did drop bodies tonight.  Tituaba.  The Countess.  Mary.  Alden briefly.  If I had to guess though, Mary will somehow pull through and it does look like The Countess will probably regenerate some day, but she'll probably be played by a different actress, if they do decide to bring her back.  Tituaba could be dead-dead, but I guess if they want to change their mind, they could just have her blind.

Holy shit!  Anne just George Sibleyed poor Cotton!  I honestly didn't see that coming.  I'm glad that the love spell was addressed and Cotton confirmed what I suspected that he did love her, but he just wasn't ready to say it at the time, so Anne might have not needed to do it (then again, she was on an apparent time-crunch, right?)  But I don't see a happy ending now.  I'm not sure what to make of Anne now.  I thought she did raise good points about being a women in this time (and all that creepiness with Hathorne certainly proved her point), but she has to know that throwing in with Baby Satan is probably not the best way to do this.  Baby Satan doesn't give a shit about feminism.

I got my hopes up, and thought Issac was going to kill Mercy, which would have been hilarious and awesome.  But, nope, she's still kicking and planning on murdering children.  Yeah, I'll never have sympathy for her if she keeps doing that.

There hasn't been confirmation yet on Season 3, has there?  The show going to Comic-Con seems to be a good sign, but I have no idea what state WGN is in, when it comes to it's original shows.  I don't think Salem or Manhattan are huge ratings hits, but I wonder if they make up for it in online viewing, buzz, on demand, etc.

But still, I think Satan is acting like an idiot. I guess the excuse is that he's a kid, but still. I want a smart villain. And a smart Satan wouldn't kill or chase off his loyal followers. He might make them grovel and be terrified, but what evil villain doesn't want to have syncophants surrounding him doing everything he wants and telling him how great and wonderful he is? And the Countess was his number one fan.  But the real reason I think he killed the Countess is because Lucy Lawless is not coming back, and that makes me really sad. I guess Anne and Mercy will have to keep baby Satan happy now.

Why can't  Satan just push his mother into the black ooze and bring her back to life? Maybe he does do that next season.

Despite the body count piling up, I was underwhelmed by the finale as I found it largely anti-climactic.

No official word on season 3, but sadly the producers have no plans on getting rid of Mercy. They seem to be under the woefully misguided notion that Mercy is a fan favorite: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/salem-janet-montgomery-season-3-805566

Gruesome Mercy is the last person I want to see more of!  I was so hoping she'd be dissolved or something this year so she couldn't put her body back together.  I do not see the attraction of having any more of her at all.  The plot hole I can not reconcile is the fact that the Countess made it clear she could read your mind and know you were lying.  So she would've known Sebastian didn't kill Mary.  And little Satan certainly should've been able to read the Countess to know that Mary was still alive.  Lazy writers.

I really would love a season three.  I also need to have Mercy be gone, forever.  She has turned from an abused child to an entitled spoiled brat.  I also need to have a season where Isaac is not horribly tortured.

Does Satan realize the main reason the ladies went against Mary is that she was against sacrificing her son to bring him into the world?   If Tituba and the Countess had not been deceitful with Mary, he would not be there sitting on his little throne.

I agree it makes no sense.

He seems more like an Antichrist/incarnation that is limited in some ways that the devil wouldn't be, including his reasoning skills.

Seems unlikely that Mary is really gone for good, as she carries the show as much as any cast member does.

Urgh, I hate it when they misread audiences so completely. I'd quite happily trade Mercy for Tituba.

Are they trolling us??? That whole marry Sebastian coz I'm gonna be a pretty princess shit was the last straw. Cringing through her scenes is like being forced to read every line of the worst Mary Sue fanfic in the history of the Internet while bamboo splinters go under your nails and kicking her singed ass out was the most likeable thing that Countess Marburg did all season.

They telegraphed it during the exorcism attempt when he referred to Mary as the finest of his witches. Don't think he would say that

if he still preferred Marburg.

I know I am late to the game. I gave up on the show half way through the first season because it was slow and boring. However needing something to watch on Netflix I gave it another chance. Wouldn't you know it the show got interesting right around the time I gave up on it. I think my favorite character is Anne. I love me a good downward spiral and to have the previously virtious Anne fall so far so fast was my favorite storyline. I am looking foward to what happens with her next.

Oddly enough the rest of it was still kinda slow and boring especially the on again off again between Mary Sibley and John Alden . I just find John another in a long line of boring leading men who are pretty to look at shirtless but bring nothing to the show.

Lucy Lawless was fun as always. Some of her lines and line deliveries were priceles.

As for Mercy I don't know. I don't hate her and her brand of crazy was amusing at times. I think the show needs to decide what to do with her better.

I think my favorite scenes of them all though are when men and women try to explain themselves to each other. It is always fascinating to watch.

I liked the finale. It actually went better than I expected. I was dreading Sebastian killing his mother for Mary and I liked that he didn't. He turned out to be the most interesting man in this show full of underwhelming dudes and engaging female characters. I also liked that the door is open for the Countess' return, I thought it wouldn't be.

I don't really get either why they keep stretching Mercy out, though I did like her change in wardrobe this season.

Mary's descent sure took her really low, but I've always found her love for John (in spite of how boring he is) and her son the things that make her really layered, so I liked that they really pushed that home this season.

I too I'm not so sure that Tituba is dead. I didn't right away think of her as a seer of some kind, but I did see her being a creepy witch with no eyes, not dead.

I liked the scene when Anne put out the fire in the church. I think Cotton is a good man, but the whole thing about him being a babbling, drunk loser going on and on about witches got old a long time ago, so I don't care about him becoming George 2.0. The thing that bothered me though was that Mr. Jenkins got so fat and ugly. He used to be tiny and cute.

I don't like little John-Devil-Whatever. He annoys me.

The historical Tituba did not die in Salem.   Ironically, she, who started the witchcraft hysteria, survived it because she confessed.   Only the accused who would not confess were actually executed.

Mercy is the Miley Cyrus of Salem -- she has no discernible talent, there's no good reason for her to be around, and somehow she survives entirely on negative attention.

I think the problem with Mercy is that she has no nuance.  She always goes for the obvious, like how oblivious she was to the Countess using her and his son being disgusted by her.  The scene with her in his bed trying to seduce him was pointless.

I also did not understand why the hell the devils was punishing all his loyal followers, just because they had once been mean to Mary.  Is it because he is the devil and can not be trusted?  He could have just told everyone else that Mary is his revered queen and they all better fall in line.  Also, Mary was the one unwilling to sacrifice her son for his return.  The Countess would have happily killed anyone for Satan's love.

I think the implication was that the devil was sort of in love with Mary or held her in a special regard because she was his sort of mother. Or both. It was yucky either way and i don't like that kid actor, frankly.
