Hoo boy. With Phyllis's connection to Scott, I hope we're not going to revisit the Sharon and Phyllis rivalry. While I would like Sharon to have a friend/writing mentor and keep it platonic with Scott, Phyllis is the type to turn Scott into a bone to fight over.

The conflict in a Phyllis/Scotty relationship should come from Lauren, who knows full well what type of person her soon-to-be former best friend is. There is no reason to revisit the Sharon/Phyllis crap in that case.

That said, Sharon with a bf outside of the Newman influence would be interesting.

I don't think we're going to see a Phyllis-Scott romance since GT is still stanning for Philly on Twitter and during her FB chat. I think myson is for the younger set while Phyllis will remain firmly on the back burner. I see no hint that the character of Phyllis holds any interest for SSM. She's playing filler at the moment.

Yesterday GT had an interview saying she filmed some difficult scenes with JT. So we have some Philly stuff coming up in May at least. Seemed kind of intense the way she was talking about it. She was on about her Emmy nom. I know they filming all the Dina related stuff right now too so I have to wonder if whatever is going on with Jack has already kicked off.

For whatever reason, GT has been insisting that Phyllis loves Billy (in interviews etc. lately) and that is why Phack "finally ended," and that there is some mystical triangle between Philly and Villy despite her HW's public declarations insisting the "love" should never have happened and the pairing is D-E-A-D. So my guess is the scenes were deemed difficult (by her) to film because we will at long last hear Billy declare that Philly was a gross error in judgment motivated by an unconscious need to hurt his brother and that Phyllis has never and could never mean to him what Victoria has meant and means. I'm basing this on the writing I'm seeing (reading) about show these days. (Minus the breadcrumb Philly scenes that I am CONVINCED are a result of catering to stans for a few months.)

I just read on another site that Poldark and Phyllis share a drink and a kiss next week.

Poldark!  Great name!

That should make the dead badger perched on Lauren's head sit up and take notice.  I can hear the fevered cry, "MY SON, MY SON" now.  Maybe Phyllis can develop an app for that, too.

Two questions:

1. Should I watch Poldark? I'm not a big costume drama person, but I've heard about it a lot.

2. Anyone but me picking up on a, shall we be dainty and call it, Freudian vibe with Lauren and HER SON?

I sort of watched the original Poldark back in the 70's but didn't stick with it.  I like some period dramas - the old Forsyte Saga, Upstairs, Downstairs, etc., but Poldark didn't do it for me.

As for Lauren and MY SON, why yes indeed I DID notice that!

Loved the original Poldark back in the '70's! Period dramas are my favourite! The new one is good but I admit that I haven't seen too many episodes. The acting is enjoyable and it brings back fond memories of my former, late MIL.

Lauren does not look like she is supposed to be his mother. ?

boes, I LOVE the Forsyte Saga.  The 1967 version was re-run on PBS when I was in college and I missed it all.  I then read the book and just loved it.  It's very soapy but I was so caught up with the rich portrayal of the characters.  I have found over the years that there were times I was completely Team Irene and then other times when I was Team Soames.  I was able to watch quite a bit of the 1967 version on YT.  I also enjoyed the Damian Lewis version but thought it was not as true to the books as I would have liked.

I have watched both Poldarks.  Loved the 1970s Robin Ellis/Angharad Rees version.  I liked the first season of the new version but kind of lost interest thereafter.  I have to confess my weakness for handsome curly haired British actors.  Kit Harington, Aiden Turner, Hugh Dancy in the Helen Mirren Elizabeth I miniseries--sigh.

I think TB hates the thought that this obviously 30-something man could be her child.  How can that be when she herself is locked in at age 35?  I too have detected the Hamlet/Gertrude vibe.  Whatever, My Son (I've got to look up his real name)  is a hottie.

Where are you hearing these rumours @spinxella? Because ugh.

Well, they had Phyllis flashing back to one of their bile-inducing make out sessions on Thursday, so i assumed it was coming.

I give up trying to stake the undead corpse of Philly. At least Jack is out of the way of whatever they do next.

They're in Calgary at a Women's Show today for Global TV. Gina photographs well.

Unfortunately, Jack can't be out of the way. Philly aren't in a bubble. What they do affects Jack and Victoria and will no doubt make both of those characters look like losers because they haven't kicked Philly's asses to a pulp yet.

Philly sex scenes have been taped already. The first should air this Friday (US).

Yeah, Gina said that Philly reunite on the 17th and JT said they're revisiting Philly again.

Oh, show, good luck.

i wonder if they will tell each other that since they are both divorced/single now, they won't be hurting anyone.

Well......the plague cropped up time and time again in Europe alone, taking centuries to eradicate.  And then there's ButtBiscuit and Phyllis......

So that means we have to get ready for more flashes of a porn version of Ichabod Crane defiling the time line with Phyllis.......

Yea.........

I'm more curious if the show has the balls to write it realistically. As in, Jack and Victoria should HATE THEM. The Abbotts should despise Billy and be on JACK's side. Jack was just proven 100% right.

I hope Jack rubs Victoria's beak in it.

I also hope Jack tells Phyllis she's a lying piece of garbage. Wait, that's too nice.

Oh, Tippi, you are singing my song!  A friend and I will still, after all these years, get into a "discussion" over the merits, or lack thereof, of Soames and Irene.  I'm been a pretty stalwart Irene supporter but the older I get the more I waffle on Soames, especially that lovable old fart he became.  But I'm always Team Winifred and June, no doubt!  Not to mention Uncle James, Aunts Hester and Julie and Ann, and now I'll stop.

It was the start of the whole Masterpiece Theater and even the real beginning of the mini-series, in a way.  I have it on disc and it's wonderful!

I just hope Ich keeps his clothes on.   I hear that Ridley Scott will be making another Alien sequel/prequel.  JT and GT would be perfect for the first xenomorph love story.

Jack will probably spiral even further down and be fighting Ashley tooth and nail over the company and just be the all around big old meanie loser.  Won't that be nice?

No. Why would TIIC think this is a good idea? Because a few stans on twitter tell them so?

This is exactly what is going on. We know because Sally said Philly was done. "That ship has sailed."

So someone else told her she couldn't write it the way she wanted to.

I can't wait to see what other couple shippers will mobilize moving forward. Planes cupcakes bots. I mean why not? Organic storytelling means shit to Y&R. Just ask Philly stans.

I also think it will be worse than Jack spiralling. I think he'll be told to accept it because true love can't be denied. He refused to take Phyllis back. Vicki refused to take Billy back. What do they expect? I can hear Ashley screeching at Jackie now. "Get OVER it!!!" And Jack will. Because that's what Jack does.

This entire show and its historical relationships mean nothing in the face of GT and JT and their hawtness. THIS is the message.

And I finally got it.

But they're hurting me. Deeply.

Why oh why would Scotty kiss Phyllis. Does he not know where her lips have been? Will he not taste the rancid echoes of buttbiscuit batter? Does every new hot prospect have to get broken in by the Phyllis welcoming committee?

I knew this triangle was coming. They were just doing a lot with Phyllis being lonely and then dreaming of Billy. It was beyond obvious it was happening. I am sure it will be some lame shit where Billy is torn between them both. The spoilers literally say Villy have a big fight and then the very next episode is Philly doing their hook up. Well it will definitely rile up the Abbotts again.

It wasn't "beyond obvious" to me because 1. I believed Sally and 2. It's Pratt-level stupid.

I thought show would actually let the new HW write character-driven organic, story again.

Wrong on all counts.

Yeah, I'm not sure it was clear that Jack and Victoria were about to be sacrificed AGAIN for the Philly Romcom Hour. Because that IS what's going to happen to those vet characters. Unless Jack and Vic call trash as trash, they will both be losers for continuously allowing Philly to shit all over them while they fuck.

^^Yep. If Philly were going to be revisited in any form why hasn't Billy shown serious remorse, gone through a cathartic rebuilding of character that saw him SUFFER, saw his family excommunicate him? Why is Jack accused of failing to get over it (by Ashley, Traci, Billy, Vic, AND Phyllis who told Billy to ignore Jack and not feel bad because no one knows him like she does, wink wink) if IT is not OVER?????

How is it that Jack and Vicki are presented as the unreasonable, miserable people while Philly are just trying, you guys? And oh how they will make us giggle. Just wait and see. They are #fun.

I mean what the fuck is this except stunt writing? And weren't we DONE with that when Pratt all but destroyed this show, and execs hired old Bill Bell protégés?

Mal and his Philly romcom hour won out. And it's an affirmation that show sees soap viewers as stupid wimmens who just want to see pretend sex onscreen.

There was NO reason to have them fuck again. We don't need to see them "figure" out what they are and what they want. We watched that for a year.
