So cool! Just heard Puppy Bowl is being hosted just north of my neck of the woods this year because of the pandemic!

Usually, I guess some arena in Manhattan is where this takes place. This year, it is taking place in another arena in Glens Falls, NY instead - about a hour or so north of me.  🙂

DJ Grand Master Scratch in the Kitty Half-Time Show has got to go.  I hate the camera tricks they use to try to make it look like an animal is doing something it clearly isn't.

But I love all the special needs animals!  Go, Marshall!

I kinda faded in and out. I think three hours was too long. Watching the Irwins promote their series, I wondered if there’s an Aussie Rules version of Puppy Bowl. That would be so much more intense that what we have.

I love puppy bowl.. I liked the new announcer this year,, Steve Levy did a great job calling the “game” it sounded like a real football game.  And the ref Dan always does a good job.

i like cats but kitten bowl is just too boring for me.  Cute kitties but I’m done after 5 minutes.

I may be skipping Kitten Bowl next year. There are far too many humans and time spent on the special stories, instead of watching kitties. Also I appreciate Beth Stern is passionate about animal rescue, but its gotten very annoying to watch her.

yeah, and her voice got to be so annoying.  I wanted to mute her but I also kind of was interested in some of those stories.

Kicking this up for next week. Kitten Bowl has been cancelled for this year, and just like the regular Super Bowl the Puppy Bowl has a ridiculous amount of pregame shows this time. I am also confused by the fact there are three listings for Puppy Bowl XVIII all tagged as new with different episode names but they are the same thing?

was there a Dog Bowl this year?  I don't remember seeing anything for it.  I've been watching a couple of the Puppy Bowl shows that I recorded this week: Dog Bowl Allstars, Puppy Bowl Nation, Puppy Bowl Presents: Best in Show.  I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't do the Dog Bowl with all of complications of the network being sold.

Watching Puppy Bowl now.  It seems like they've added so much extra stuff.  Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg with some random sort-of agility course?  Puppy cheerleaders?  Kittens in a skybox, "watching" the action.  I don't know.  I liked it when we just watched puppies play for a couple of hours, with the kitten half-time show.

The puppies are cute, though, and some of them are really feisty!

I've felt this way for a while.  I did always think the hamster/goat/chicken/whatever cheerleaders were a waste.  There was one year where I thought they spent some much time with their Animal Planet "celebrities" it felt like we hardly saw the puppies at all.  I will admit I'm kind of amused by the puppy cheerleaders.

One of the puppies, Irwin, from the SATO Project, I believe was adopted by Jeffery Dean Morgan.  He's posted on Insta and twitter about him. https://www.instagram.com/p/CVLt6ppFwgR/

It seems like Animal Planet went the typical route of taking a good, simple thing and then ruining it by adding way too many unnecessary “upgrades”.  Just let the puppies play!  Keep the ref and the kitten half-time and get rid of everything else.

Puppy Bowl running out at three hours. I’d like to know about the massive 60-lb puppy. Looks like a Great Dane.

I liked the cold open. Snacks is a cute Beagle.

ETA: Heh. Pickle the puppy is a “twerkin’ gherkin.”

Did I miss Cronut the Shar Pei puppy? I was fading in and out for a while. I did get to see all 72 lbs of Levi the Great Dane. I would’ve liked to see him interact with the other puppies, but I guess that wasn’t meant to be.
