Both Arrow and SPN are down, so I think it's less about Arrow content and more external factors

There was the NFL draft yesterday, it always brings down ratings.

From the numbers it doesn't look like the NFL draft was that big of a draw, but I'm sure combined with the 39 million Infinity War made last night that is what probably brought the numbers down across the board.

Judging by the unrouned preliminaries, Supernatural might adjust up in the finals. Arrow may have been hurt by the Avengers premiere, but it's usual ratings aren't that much better, anyways. IMO, unless there's a big reboot in the works for season 7, ratings below 1 million viewers will become the norm.

Ouch. Glad SPN went up, but its painful to look at Arrow's ratings and remember when it was the CW's flagship series in its early seasons.

Only 0.4 for the season finale and seeing how shitty it was, I doubt that Arrow is going to recover much in terms of viewership for season 7.

Depends. I think with the right promo (i.e. Olicity) they could get more eyeballs or at least be on par.

Ironically, I think it would be the relationships between the characters that would keep people coming back. There are better superhero shows in terms of fights and comic book connections like Jessica Jones, but people will keep watching if they like the relationships between the characters (e.g. the Oliver/Diggle bromance). that's why it's dangerous to mess too much with those connections, like messing up Olicity in s4 and OOC Diggle in this season.
