#CASTLE Fans...watch my new show #WickedCity w/ @JeremySisto @EdWestwick @ERIKAjaneC @IamGabrielLuna @taissafarmiga  Laurie Zaks added,

Laurie was a producer on Castle, good luck with her new show.

Nothing against Laurie, but I'm glad Wicked City got a 0.9 rating last night. It was a sick premise. Good for viewers that they voted against it.

Agreed. Also, it was pretty universally panned by legit TV critics, which you don't see too often.

I live less than 30 minutes from where Ted Bundy picked up some of his victims.  Serial killers are absolutely terrifying for me. They will never be entertaining. I also didn't watch any 3xK.  So there's my story.  Nothing personal to those who enjoy the genre.

ITA. I don't watch any of those "murder-death-kill" shows, as the hubs and I refer to them.  My in-laws, however, love them (hubs' dad was in the sheriff's dept) and I have to record their shows and run the DVR for them when they visit - I actually had nightmares after sitting through an episode of Criminal Minds with them.

Nice to see Firefly get a mention by someone as well respected as Sepinwall.

Terriers is the only other show I've seen on the list and I can attest that it was terrific and gone too soon.  Definitely need to make time for 1 & 2 some day.

I think timing really factors into the success and failure of a TV show or a movie.  Firefly was ahead of the geek revolution that would really take root a few years later.  And with shows like Lost becoming mainstream, there was more scope on network shows to explore more fantastical worlds.

Some minor sightings: "Vikram" was the victim of the week on an old episode of Scorpion (slowly getting caught up on that show - which is kind of BBT meets spy/cop show) and he is also in a new AT&T ad. And "Johnnie Vong" has been showing up in a Time-Warner cable ad - guess he needs some cash to put gas in his boat ;)

I hope that 'Tourist' movie is better than the trailer leads me to believe it is....that was pretty average.

Brett Dalton is not a leading man......

I don't watch Agents of SHIELD so can't say how Dalton is in other roles, but he came across as very bland for me in that trailer.  The trailer as a whole was quite blah.  Stana was okay, but she seems to be playing the generic 'friend' character.  A bit weird that someone pointed out that her husband is also in the trailer.  The best thing about this film may end up being beautiful Italy. :P

The Tourist will be sort of interesting when it comes to cable. I like Brett Dalton in Agents of Shield, but it's true. Unless the trailer is misleading, he doesn't possess the indescribable charisma of a leading man. It's not looks, which he certainly has. It's something else, something that Deniro, Washington, Hanks, and even icky Tom Cruise have, but Dalton lacks. Of course, the problem could be the director, too.

Stana was interesting as the side kick, although half the time I couldn't understand what she was saying. Was she told to talk so fast or was that her contribution to the part? At least she doesn't have the bad NY accent and overacted tough lady bad-assedness she donned in CBGB. Less is most definitely more, sometimes. I don't know why some actors hit the right note, while others don't. Again it's an indescribable something, but you know it when you see it.

The cinematography was beautiful. I'll watch for that and fast forward through that contact soccer/gladiator game they feature.

I look forward to Stana's other movie trailers. Those seem more interesting, for me.

Well, good for her.  I was never particularly impressed by the actors who portrayed Sorenson, Demming, Josh (all pretty faces but bland in different ways) or Gina, or even Meredith.  Vikram, definitely.  The writers never really fleshed them out but still, their screen presence didn't exactly draw me in.  Hopefully they are all better in other roles.

Maya (Tori) had a rather large part in this week's Jackson/April-focused episode of Grey's Anatomy. She was much more impressive as an actress than on Castle too.

That's how I recognized her. Thank you! She was really good, but had a lot more to do than she ever did on Castle.

The potentially telekinetic teenage girl from Smells like Teen Spirit will be on ABC's new comedy The Real O'Neals. And the slutty entertainment reporter from Cloudy with a Chance of Murder was on an episode of Fox's Lucifer (another outsider starts working with badass female cop show, only this time he's the devil) a few weeks ago.

I will always remember Martha Plimpton as creepy Jo Gage on Law & Order: Criminal Intent in "Blind Spot", which coincidentally was one of the repeats of the show that aired today. She creeped it up to the hilt there, so it made an impression. LOL!

Never saw Raising Hope, although I have heard of it. I do recall her on ER in an arc with Julianna Margulies' Carol Hathaway in the '90s and in the '80s movie version of Parenthood.

Didn't know she is on The Real O'Neals.

She is also a Carradine, too. Forget which one is/was her father, though.

Father and son reunited, kind of.  James Brolin and Nathan Fillion are doing a live screenplay reading together for The Black List.  If I remember correctly, Nathan did one of these before.  Not a bad cast, I'd be interested in a movie like this.  Brolin's playing Reagan. Don't know if he can pull that off.  I would love to see Nathan in a political satire, a departure from his previous work.

Ruben Santiago-Hudson was on that new show The Family playing pretty much the same character that he had on Castle. Only he's a police chief in small-town Maine instead of captain in NYC.

Not sure how big a part he'll have moving forward.

Certain I'm the last one on the train here, but I am way behind on my movie watching...(slight spoiler alert) if you want to see Eric Vaughn get his comeuppance, check out last year's overwrought disaster porn flick San Andreas.

Apparently Lucifer is borrowing more actors (not to mention the basic plot) from Castle: "Johnny Vong" played a ex-gangbanger-turned-shoe-designer. Weird seeing Mr. MBA in a suit actin' all street-thug.

Gif of the Nathan cameo in Deadpool from the DVD.

Whoa, they both look unrecognisable!!  Good makeup job on both.  Nice to see Ryan Reynolds and Nathan reunited on screen.  I hope Nathan gets some roles in the future where he can really transform and disappear into a character

And here are movie posters featuring Nathan as Wonder Man in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.  I think it's just another cameo.

What a great character actor Jonathan Adams is.

I remember when he was Dr. Goodman on Bones, all the way back during its first season. He had quite the distinctive voice.

And such versatility. He plays pure evil or pure comedy effortlessly. I don't know many actors who can do that.

Any idea what NFs shoulder problem is that it requires surgery?

I recall a Joss Whedon interview about NF doing his own stunts back in the day.

No clue, but he's commented often about folks not grabbing his shoulder, so I think it's a longtime injury that he's maybe never had a chance to properly fix before now.

The Rendezvous: Loved the part where the male lead told Stana's character, "You don't do guns". Lee Lofland would agree.

I think it might be entertaining, simplistic dialog aside. I'll watch, when it comes to Bluray. The scenery alone will be worth it.

And MaryM47 won the Guess the Ending Competition! Congratulations! Your ceremonial tiara and sash are in the mail.

Does anyone want to see it end with Senator Beckett and literary novelist Richard Castle living in New York with their 3 kids, or would that feed too much into Crazy Castle's wild theories? I don't mind a little magical realism, in small, subtle doses. They laid it on with a trowel in this week's episode, but I sorta like the time travel guy, and Beckett making the coffee stain on the letter. Frankly, after all the crap we've been through these past 2 weeks or so, not to mention this garbage season, I could use a cheesy happy ending.

And I even got my "You have no idea" tossed in there too! They even mentioned going to a bar - how hard would it have been to have the boys refer to The Old Haunt by name? I coulda had a hat trick! Cheesy ending indeed, but I would have preferred a nice hunk of creamy brie compared to the plastic-wrapped Kraft Single we got. But since it got us out of what would have been a horrifying cliffhanger and a dead Beckett, that is one grilled cheese sandwich I will happily chow on. Looking forward to wearing my sash and tiara as I parade before my subjects while running errands to the grocery store and post office.

Ha. It is kind of funny how a good number of fans (including myself) are going, "wellll, that wasn't great, but since the alternative is worse, I'll take it!" One would almost think that fans' knowing Beckett could have been killed off in S9 ended up being a boon to TPW and Hawley. Then again, given their silence amidst all the backlash in recent weeks, I guess they would rather have gotten that S9 greenlit no matter what.

I've been putting off surgery on my shoulder for 7 years (full thickness tear of rotator cuff) because it takes a year to get to the point where it hurts less than it did, including a couple of months of being pretty much out of commission, and then a lot of time devoted to physical therapy. I would wager NF has something similar.

I noticed during one episode that Nathan crawled on the floor using only one arm to balance --just like IIIIIII do-- At the time, I thought, does he have a bad shoulder too?  Now I know the truth. I guess we won't be getting any quick announcements about his new gigs.

Maybe he injured himself doing all the exercise to lose the weight. He's been looking pretty slim, must be job hunting ;-).

Sorry that your shoulder is worse than mine. Hope you get your surgery soon.

I was so happy to see that in the finale. (Best part of the finale IMO.) Maybe his role in that scifi show/flick will lead to something else.

Now if Richard Dean Anderson would just get well enough to lose a few pounds...

Yes, agreed. I was sad to see the deuuuuuuuuude they'd picked for the MacGyver remake.  Straight off the surf board and onto the TV screen.  Such promise blown..

It was actually Stana's character saying "I don't do guns" when the male lead tried to give her one. I even found it believable coming from her, which says a lot when you think of how much Beckett loved talking about guns.

A lovely turn by Stana was in "The Closer". I have only hazy moments, but I remember watching her guest role as it first aired and thinking, that was a great performance.  Years later, as I am Closer fan and this is after Castle debuted, I rewatched the series, and realized, holy hell, that was Stana in that guest role!

So happy to see him looking fitter.  Hopefully it means he's got something in the works other than Con Man, or powering up for some good job hunting.  I hope he gets a shot at some features, even in supporting roles.  I'd love to see him play a father again or a dark character or a charismatic big screen version of Castle/Mal, or a dream superhero/video game character.  I don't think either Castle lead will jump back into the grind of an hour long 20+ episode network drama anytime soon, if ever.  Maybe Nathan will move into comedy but I actually really love his dramatic work.

What's with Stana's character's accent?  Or am I just used to her as Beckett?  It just sounded strange to me, broader... And I thought they put a lot of the film into the trailer already.

I think I was more interested in The Rendezvous when I thought it was this introspective, serious indie set in Jordan.  Now it looks more like a light hearted action adventure romp in Jordan, which might prove less appealing to me, if it really is like a poor man's version of The Da Vinci Code.  Her other film which sounds more serious might have more potential.  But serious or funny, it depends on if the writing and acting can make it work.

I do remember Stana from The Closer.  I think she would be good at playing that sort of character again, on the big screen or small.

You're right.  Still ironic, still Lee Lofland would agree ;-).

Edit:  Still think the movie will be entertaining too.  Fun watch.

There's a flurry of interest in having NF in the new Star Trek series. With fans writing to CBS.

The program is slated for 2017.

http://www.scifiob.com/sfob-blog/rumor-mill-nathan-fillion-new-star-trek-captain

He would be a shoe-in for the role, LOL. But I suspect that even if they made an actual offer, he wouldn't do it. Except for the pilot, the show will be on CBS' experimental subscription channel. I think the idea of playing captain on a show that could get cancelled in a short time (this time because people refuse to pay for the channel) is too glaringly similar to something that's happened in the past,  ahem. Just don't make him wear a brown coat, and maybe he'd take a chance :-). Of course, if CBS' new channel fails, they could always bring Star Trek to their broadcast channel, but would have to rename it "NCIS: Space" ;-).

Of course, he also implied that he doesn't want to be typecast ;-).  But maybe he meant as writer or PI, not as captain.

Are TV Line just trying to cash in on any lingering interest in all things Castle or have they heard something? The Americans has been renewed for two more seasons, which apparently will be the last. There are only 13 episode seasons, so less demanding, and the show is filmed in NYC and I read a rumour a few months ago that Stana's assitant was apartment hunting in NY. Probably more a case of TV Line flying a kite than any real substance, but you never know, and Stana putting on her Eastern European accent would be a treat. LOL
