Starfish35 May 20, 2016 Share May 20, 2016 For me, I'm having more trouble with the post editor. I don't know how to do the cool imbedding of tweets that you all are doing. And when I copy stuff, like from TVLine, I always have to manually put in all the formatting. And sometimes I'll put it in and then it won't allow me to save my changes. I don't know what's going on. I'm using a iPad to access the site - I don't know if that makes a difference. Link to comment

Same goes for gifs/photos. The only thing that you have to manually put in quotation boxes are quotes from TVLine or other articles (aka things that aren't linked) 1 Link to comment
Happy Harpy May 20, 2016 Share May 20, 2016 (edited) I stopped watching Charmed when S.Doherty left. She might be hell on a set (although this time around it was more of an ego/personal struggle with A.Milano who was no better, according to the whispers back then?) but for me she was the only touch of spice in that vanilla blah witch world. Not that I was crazy into it. I remember how disappointed I was in this show, because TPTB were the same as the short-lived very spicy soap Savannah, where I found myself rooting for the villains, so I expected something daring storytelling-wise and well...it wasn't. I had my issues with Buffy but yes, it was definitely the superior show in quality imo. That said, a network should never treat a popular show as the red-headed stepchild. The general audience brings a load of income, so be thankful you bunch of well-fed assholes. If you had to feed on hipsters you'd be starving. Funny fact: D.Duchovny came back from his first upfronts (IIRC) rather pissed off, because the network was all about pre-internet buzzy The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. and was like "Oh, we also have this little show called The X-files". Guess what happened when the audience had something to say about it? Riverdale sounds like a double penalty to me: Show centered on teenagers + show centered on a love triangle. Yeah, not in a million years. Edited May 20, 2016 by Happy Harpy 2 Link to comment

Guess what happened when the audience had something to say about it? I vaguely remember this-- not DD being grouchy about the Upfronts, but Fox putting in a ton of promo for Brisco County. I think it was intended for a broader audience because they showed some Bruce Campbell-as-Brisco and his horse doing little intro spots during Saturday morning cartoons. And it worked on me because I started to watch it and really liked it. (Dr Quinn also premiered that year, I think. Westerns were suddenly popular.) Ironically, what I think really tanked the show in the end was when it shifted its focus away from the cowboy/Western storylines to mystical/supernatural stuff. Then it got cancelled and I stuck around to watch X-Files for another 6 seasons. Edited May 20, 2016 by lemotomato Link to comment

Starfish35 May 20, 2016 Share May 20, 2016 Hmm. No, I can't see that. Is that something you can't see if you don't have a Twitter account? (I don't) Link to comment

Starfish35 May 20, 2016 Share May 20, 2016 When I click on that, it tells me I need to sign up for a Twitter account. Which is what made me think maybe it's not available to those without accounts. Link to comment

Sakura12 May 21, 2016 Share May 21, 2016 (edited) What video game movie has ever been good? Is Hollywood that desperate for content that are going for shape based video games with no story to speak of? At least Angry Birds has animals and a sort of storyline with the birds and pigs fighting each other. Edited May 21, 2016 by Sakura12 1 Link to comment

tv echo May 21, 2016 Share May 21, 2016 (edited) I don't have a twitter account and have no problem embedding tweets here. I copy and paste the tweet's url link into a reply here. Then I put my cursor at the end of the url link (not on the next line) and press Enter. The tweet immediately shows up. I do the same thing with youtube links. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I work on a laptop and use a mouse (prefer that because it gives me more control). Edited May 21, 2016 by tv echo 1 Link to comment

Yes, that was her (she has such a distinctive voice). I checked IMDb and she plays the head of the Federation (IIRC). I really enjoyed this trailer, much better than the first. I'm actually looking forward to the new movie now. Edited May 21, 2016 by Morrigan2575 2 Link to comment
lemotomato May 21, 2016 Share May 21, 2016 That's a pretty exciting trailer. I've been entertained by the two reboot movies so far and had almost forgotten that the 3rd was supposed to be this summer because there's been so little buzz about it. Idris Elba is supposed to be in this. I'm assuming he's the alien talking to Uhura? 1 Link to comment

FurryFury May 22, 2016 Share May 22, 2016 (edited) I prefer season 1 overall, but s2 has a pretty kickass finale. Totally not a fan of Major. Edited May 22, 2016 by FurryFury Link to comment
kismet May 22, 2016 Share May 22, 2016 It's really hard for me to dislike characters on shows that I binge because it's only a few condensed hours you spend with them, so it's manageable. If they are not my cup of tea, I don't have to spend weeks hating them, but that was not the case with Major - I wanted to literally ffwd every scene. I found it very very hard for me to wish Major to not die. And I generally don't wish death on any characters. I thought maybe he could survive and just leave town. I know that doesn't happen, because I have seen promos for s2. However, I really wonder if there is any way for me to like the character. The little I've heard of s2 makes me think that won't happen. I should just accept the use of the FFwd button. Link to comment
FurryFury May 22, 2016 Share May 22, 2016 Many people have got over their dislike of Major during season 2, but not me. He bores the shit out of me, and his romance with Liv feels very forced. I also think he was miscast, the actor doesn't do anything for me at all. Link to comment

dtissagirl May 22, 2016 Share May 22, 2016 It does have some fun parallels to Arrow? Midnight Lullaby May 22, 2016 Share May 22, 2016 I really liked it and the main character is my definition of pretty. Also it's true, it's weirdly similar to Arrow, they have their own Oliver, Felicity, LL and Tommy. 1 Link to comment
