merylinkid October 23, 2014 Share October 23, 2014 NOT AGAIN. The girls night already been done. Do not need to see Finn picking up the hot guy again. Do not need to see CSIs in danger again. Just STOP. If you can't come up with new storylines, cancel the show. Link to comment
spottedreptile October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 Agreed. It was fun when Shaw, Carter and Zoe Morgan did it. This isn't fun, it's death by tedium. 1 Link to comment

MrPissyPuppy October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 I got a repeat too. According to this tweet, it was because of football: CSI on CBS! ✔ @CSI_CBSDue 2 very late NFL game, NO #CSI episode East/Central viewers ONLY, repeat episode for West. 2 Link to comment

CattyTiger October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 I do not like this at all. In the past at least we'd see TAR and The Good Wife and something we didn't watch would be cut for football run over. I'm going to be very pissed if this is the way CBS is going to handle CSI. Put it back where it belongs! 1 Link to comment
BooksRule October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 I haven't seen this one yet (I didn't even get a repeat, my local CBS channel went right into the local news), but when I saw the promo for the episode after last week's and the 'tag' said something about 'losing one of their own' am I terrible for hoping that it would be Finn? (I like the actress in other stuff she's done, I just don't like her character on 'CSI'.) Of course, I'm sure that the 'one of their own' will turn out to be an anonymous forensics person attending the conference that we've never met. I'm strictly guessing about this--like I said, I haven't seen it yet. 1 Link to comment
jcbrown October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 It's not even a repeat I liked that much originally. Phooey. Any idea when they will air the new one? Pre-empting a 10 PM show for stupid football is pretty annoying. 1 Link to comment

Put it back where it belongs! I have missed more parts of episodes due to recording problems since football always runs late this season and now this complete cancellation... it's not going to help CSI keep ratings... They shouldn't even have new shows after football on Sundays... not when the games are always late and they have to show hours of football 'extras'. Moving CSI to sunday nights was pretty stupid! As someone who could not care less about football, it's annoying as hell. Edited October 27, 2014 by Jjrmt 3 Link to comment
Trey October 27, 2014 Share October 27, 2014 I got to see the episode but I won't say much until the rest of you do. I'll just reply to BooksRule comment: the 'one of their own' will turn out to be an anonymous forensics person attending the conference that we've never met. You are correct, except that Morgan knew her so it was really all about Morgan. 2 Link to comment
Linderhill October 28, 2014 Share October 28, 2014 The dreaded Sunday night football game strikes again. I always hated when that happened with The Mentalist and it caused all sorts of issues. In the DC market we just got The Good Wife and then the news and the incredibly boring and annoying football report. I went to bed. I wonder when they'll air it here -- at 1:37 am sometime like the PTB love to do to kill off shows? 1 Link to comment
TV Anonymous October 28, 2014 Share October 28, 2014 This has been a problem since the days of Sunday night TAR as well. The problem actually lies on CBS insistence on putting 60 Minutes right after NFL followed by primetime shows. As 60 Minutes can not be shortened in length (it is 60 minutes, after all), all Sunday night offerings are affected as well, wrecking havoc on audience recording. Look at FOX model. They have The OT after football. As it is a live commentary show, the length can be easily adjusted. Therefore FOX never have to move the timing for The Simpsons and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. My suggestion, record CBS scripted shows on Western feed using timeshifting or on Canadian feed. In case of CSI, while CTV also has NFL, it does not have 60 Minutes. Its primetime starts at 8.00. Of course both options are where available. 1 Link to comment
UncleChuck November 1, 2014 Share November 1, 2014 The CBS Sunday timeshifting was more of a problem when I had my old VCRs or even my first DVR. I would set it to record every show through primetime up to midnight, then erase what I didn't need later. With TIVO it is so much easier. I set it to record CSI starting on time, but adding 2 hours to the shut off time. Then all I have to do is FF to the actual start of the episode, and delete the entire 3 hour block when I'm done. Easy peasy. 2 Link to comment
GaT November 1, 2014 Share November 1, 2014 Did anyone else have this episode replaced with a repeat from a previous season? Ooooh, I guess that's why last week's show has never appeared on OnDemand. I've been looking every day, but the last show they have is from the 19th. 1 Link to comment
roctavia November 3, 2014 Share November 3, 2014 They did it again... how lame!! I really hate fricken football season... which I know is sacrilege to say... but two weeks in a row? Come on! At this rate we won't get new episodes of CSI until February. 2 Link to comment
Linderhill November 3, 2014 Share November 3, 2014 I agree with Jjrmt, this sucks. Not that I was looking forward to a SuperFin episode, its just that it will take longer to get beyond this one. Right now it doesn't look like we'll ever get beyond it. This is the reason that Sunday is very often a show killer spot. As opposed to the Friday killer spot which doesn't have any football issues to deal with. 1 Link to comment
WalrusGirl November 3, 2014 Share November 3, 2014 They shouldn't even have new shows after football on Sundays... not when the games are always late and they have to show hours of football 'extras'. Moving CSI to sunday nights was pretty stupid! As someone who could not care less about football, it's annoying as hell. I love football and watch the afternoon games, but they haven't been running unusually long - 32 minutes is pretty standard. So it's really dumb to me that they'd even bother to schedule three hours of prime-time afterwards if the 10 pm show will be cut if a football game runs an expected amount of time. Just hold CSI (or something) until January and run with no repeats if this is how they're going to handle it. It's just going to kill the ratings. :-( 2 Link to comment
miles2go November 3, 2014 Share November 3, 2014 Argh! Two weeks in a row! Color me irritated. 1 Link to comment
merylinkid November 3, 2014 Share November 3, 2014 No ratings or scheduling thread to talk about this there. I wonder if it is just football overruns. I think they only had to do this with the Mentalist once last year. Yes the games are running long, but they want these things shown. Considering they just cut the original CSI order, I wonder if they are saving some episodes just in case the new CSI bombs and they have to bring back original flavor faster than planned? Or it is just football and CBS will never do the right thing and have special 30 minute episodes of 60 Minutes. They can cut non-urgent fluff pieces to use for another week. 1 Link to comment
torqy November 8, 2014 Share November 8, 2014 In the Mountain time zone, Madam Secretary and The Good Wife both started about 2 minutes late. I just assumed CSI would do the same, but I knew we had been shafted as soon as I saw Brass. 1 Link to comment
Linderhill November 10, 2014 Share November 10, 2014 finally! not that it was that great an episode but I'm not sure it was worth the wait. Greg with flat hair, both Henry and Nick invisible. Did they even mention where Nick was? Henry has been missing for a while so that wasn't quite as annoying but Nick? You'd think this would be one of those "all hands on deck" things that they used to have. Instead there was heroic Sara staying in the hotel, traumatized Brody, and the Finster trapped in the elevator with her shot booty call. hmmmmmm..... 1 Link to comment
Dot Com November 10, 2014 Share November 10, 2014 Greg's hair has been flat all season and it drives me nuts. 1 Link to comment
Linderhill November 10, 2014 Share November 10, 2014 I guess I should have said "Greg still with flat hair" but its one of the things I haven't commented on this season. I still miss Nick and I want to know where he was. Did George piss off the writers again? As for the previews, why is this idiot Cyber show happening? and why is Patricia Arquette cluttering up our show again? Her last appearance was not that great that we have to have her again. Yes, I know that CBS is under the mistaken impression that we want this bastard offspring but really, no we don't. ugh. On a more hopeful note, maybe they'll spin the Finster off with Arquette and we'll rid of both of them. Link to comment
ElTVaddict November 10, 2014 Share November 10, 2014 Because of the NFL overrun every Sunday, I set my DVR to record 2 hours over. It will start recording at 8 for Madame Secretary and go an hour over, which catches a lot of The Good Wife, which is set for 2 hours over and then records all of CSI. 1 Link to comment
roctavia November 10, 2014 Share November 10, 2014 Glad we finally got to see this episode!! Even if it wasn't all that exciting... it was just nice to actually get the show at it's scheduled time. The drama between Sarah and the author lady was good, it's an interesting topic- the ethics/morality of working for the defense like that... and the two unrelated killers was another interesting twist. Overall, not the most compelling episode we've ever had, but it was entertaining, which is all I expect these days :P Not looking forward to the cross over/cyber whatever thing next week... too many new-ish characters cluttering up my show! I agree with the "where was Nick??" 1 Link to comment
bunchofgrapes November 11, 2014 Share November 11, 2014 (edited) George's wife was having a baby so that's why there was no Nick. Not sure but he may be missing from the next episode too. Or not. It will start recording at 8 for Madame Secretary and go an hour over, which catches a lot of The Good Wife, which is set for 2 hours over and then records all of CSI. I tried that for two weeks in a row, but when my local station went right into the local news both times, I got irritated and quit doing that (and took CSI off of my series recordings). Now, I just check when '60 minutes' is supposed to be on and get an idea if 'CSI' might be starting no later than an hour after it should be starting (the onscreen stopwatch on '60 minutes' helps me to calculate!). Then, I either set the DVR or just forget about it. (The same thing I used to do for 'The Mentalist' when it was on Sundays.) This episode wasn't too bad, but I wonder what the odds would be for two totally unrelated gunmen deciding to shoot up a convention at the same place, same time. I'm sure that there are forensics conventions all over the country at various times (this was the western regional conference, IIRC). I guess maybe because both bad guys were in the area it was convenient for them? It just seemed to be an awfully big coincidence. 1 Link to comment
RustbeltWriter November 11, 2014 Share November 11, 2014 This season has been particularly dangerous for our CSI's. Finn sits on a bomb, Sara is exposed to SortofEbola and now they are both right in the audience as a mass shooting occurs. Sara should have PTSD by this time. I really prefer to see the investigation part of the show. This "CSI's in danger" nonsense is why I stopped watching the Miami version. The formula here isn't tough: Murder + Investigation + Miracle Science + Twist = Solution with a bit of moralising about whatever sub culture was on display this episode. No more Nick in a box, Morgan undercover or D.B.'s granddaughter kidnapped. It's a shlocky trick and unworthy of the show. Plus, it's been used so often these characters should all be looking for jobs where they aren't in Danger once a week. 3 Link to comment
SparkleStick November 12, 2014 Share November 12, 2014 I'm not terribly opposed to Fin, per se, but the whole annual booty call thing was icky, especially when we saw her pick up a random dude in the last "CSI's in danger" episode. At least twice now we've seen her dump the other girls to go get a little on the side...ugh. I guess she's found the real meaning of love after saving her hookup with her handy dandy tampon, so maybe she'll be redeemed. I usually don't let myself get too frustrated with the characters (it's more trouble than it's worth!), but I was sooooo mad at Russell when they realized who the second shooter was and he said, all indignantly, "SWAT let this guy go!" No, Russell, SWAT did not. YOU told them to turn him loose based on Sara's observation that the shooter didn't match his description. She wasn't wrong, that was a different shooter, but it just ticked me off that he said that! Speaking of Sara, I think Jorja Fox is really quite pretty, but it looks like Sara cuts her hair in the bathroom with, like, nail scissors! It is sooo bad. If that's a choice for the character, they need to change it. Last night I actually thought maybe it was a wig! (It's not, is it?!) 4 Link to comment

A saw the twist coming a mile away, the only surprise was that they were not making a coordinated attack. Then have an unguarded CSI go to a crime scene while the building was being cleared. webruce December 30, 2014 Share December 30, 2014 Finally after 2 weeks away it made it! This is the 2nd time,(11-27-13 "Girls Gone Wild" 14.09),the 3 girls have gone on a girls weekend and had problems. This time it is for seminars too. Fin runs into someone she knows. He is Mark Perlow (Jimmy Olsen on Lois & Clark)and they are trapped in an elevator. He is wounded by the first gunman. But I thought he had something to do with it all. But glad he didn't. This time we had 2 killers for 2 different reasons. That is why we saw 2 guys loading guns at same time then the sniper was alone. I liked that SWAT went through the Motel looking for the suspects, instead of Jim Brass(miss him), Nick and Sara. The 2nd shooter, Cliff Ballard the ex CSI looked suspicious in the hallway, next to the dead body. Former CSI and friend of Morgan,Vicki is murdered. Ballard had tampered with evidence. Sara and Linda Cage was on the team. He was after her too. Sara tried to talk him out of it and SWAT shot him. Dr. Jane Snyder seemed to be playing like a tv star. When Sara talked to her about the dancers being killed and it was her fault partly, she didn't care. COTW Barrel soup Russell says,"It looks like somone is missing goop man here."Paul Carson Security Guard is the body. Jeff Lasky's family was murdered and he wanted revenge on Snyder and others. Luke Reecer had killed the Laskey's. They didn't handle the investigation to his satisfaction. At end both Sara and Morgan felt so bad. Sara helped her wash the blood off her hands. They had a big hug in locker room. Not sure how often the girls go away, but maybe they should think twice next time. Link to comment
Raja December 31, 2014 Share December 31, 2014 I don't like that it was SWAT that went in. After the San Yisidro McDonalds in the early 1980s, but especially Columbine in 1999 when most of the deaths were people bleeding out as the paramedics waited for SWAT to clear an area police have changed their tactics and the first officers on the scene move to contact and attack an active shooter to use the Flashpoint terminology. Paramedics go in on the heels of the back up officers as they arrive and police now treat these situations like combat soldiers do and they pull out the wounded under fire. SWAT would deploy when they get there but it isn't Hill Street Blues anymore when everyone sits on a perimeter and waits. 1 Link to comment
John Potts February 22, 2015 Share February 22, 2015 Raja Cut a civilian loose with a possible gunman and bombs still in the hotel to fend for himself without having a SWAT or follow up deputy escort him to a safe zone? A saw the twist coming a mile away, the only surprise was that they were not making a coordinated attack. I figured they had to be working together - I know shootings are commonplace on CSI but how ridiculously contrived is it that two shooters choose the same day to shoot forensic scientists? Even if it was two people logging on to "Murderers R Us" ("Need to kill somebody but need an accomplice? Log on and you are just two clicks away from a convenient corpse!") it would make slightly more sense. And even if they didn't think he was the shooter because he had the wrong hair (DB, you do realise an assassin might try to conceal their appearance by wearing a wig?) don't you want to interview him as a witness? And while I know that Law Enforcement Officials tend to be in favour of securing a conviction no matter how many civil liberties it violates, but I'm not sure I'd want the cops able to grab my photos willy nilly (Warrants? Who needs them?) Link to comment
