cdnalor June 7 Share June 7 Barely recognized the boy, Max. The two kids are growing up. Obviously Deputy Liv lost weight but does the mayor's wife look thinner as well? Her face looks a bit drawn this year. I wonder if the Ozempic craze has come to Patience. That escape from the Greys came a little too easily, I guess the writers didn't want to waste any time getting Harry back to Earth. Hope they put more thought into the reason Harry's stuck in human form. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153882-s04e01-prisoners/#findComment-8680674
CinAZ June 8 Share June 8 I am so glad this show is back. The kids are huge. Harry escaped fairly quickly. I wonder if Bruce will stick around long. Probably not, I am thinking the CGI would be expensive. I know they got the budget slashed. I kinda didn’t hate Asta and Joseph hooking up. I don’t mind if they keep Joseph around. i hope Kate gets her baby back soon. But Joseph is probably right, the Grays will be keeping an eye out for the baby. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153882-s04e01-prisoners/#findComment-8680901
Red Bridey June 8 Share June 8 I did not recognize Kate at all. I wondered if they had recast the part for an unknown reason. The loss of her baby must have really done a number on her! I'm glad this show is back because I love it so much, but I admit I am quite confused with the various plotlines, maybe/probably because there is such a long time between seasons. I can only remember so much, people! I wonder that the regular characters don't see that Harry has changed. That hair style! The smoking! 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153882-s04e01-prisoners/#findComment-8680966
cardigirl June 9 Share June 9 A little concerned that SyFy is airing the new episode at 11 p.m. ET on Fridays. Does this mean the final season for Resident Alien? Love this show and the characters so much, I could watch multiple more seasons. Poor Harry without his alien powers. This could be fun! noctis87 June 10 Share June 10 Resident Alien is back, and while some things change (those kids are growing faster than weeds!), some things stay hilariously the same, like Harry's knack for getting into and out of trouble. His escape from the Greys felt a little too easy, didn't it? My guess is the writers just wanted him back in Patience before the coffee got cold, saving the real head-scratchers for why he's stuck in human form. And speaking of changes, was it just me, or did half the cast go on a pre-season diet? Max is practically unrecognizable, and don't even get me started on Kate, I thought they'd recast her! She's clearly been through it, and while the showrunners are juggling more plotlines than a circus performer, I'm just happy to have this quirky crew back. Oh, and Asta and Joseph? I'm not mad about it. Let's hope Bruce sticks around too, even if his CGI bill is probably giving the network execs heartburn. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153882-s04e01-prisoners/#findComment-8682416
Unclejosh June 10 Share June 10 I didnt notice any difference in Kate other than she had abs. Her face looked the same to me. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153882-s04e01-prisoners/#findComment-8682758
peachmangosteen June 10 Share June 10 It was her face that caught my eye. It’s significantly thinner. Gaunt really. I was a bit worried about her. It actually weirdly works for the character based on what she’s been/going through but I hope the actress is OK. 3 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153882-s04e01-prisoners/#findComment-8682868
proserpina65 June 11 Share June 11 My only complaint about this episode, which I loved, is Harry rejecting the best Girl Scout cookies in the universe. Samoas rule! 3 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153882-s04e01-prisoners/#findComment-8683412
carrps June 11 Share June 11 I'm partial to Do-Si-Does (love me some peanut butter), but Samoas come close. Only problem it's the highest calorie cookie they sell. ☹️ 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153882-s04e01-prisoners/#findComment-8683440
Skooma June 12 Share June 12 (edited) I really enjoyed the episode even though I didn't remember half of what had happened before. I didn't know who Harry's pal in the next cell over was nor the guy that slept with Asta who apparently is suppose to have been or still is a bad guy. I didn't remember the sheriff and the deputy saw Harry as an alien then had their memories all Men in Black style wiped out. Nor did I remember a baby. Or why the baby is important or whose it is or ... oh hell I can't stand babies on shows anyway so I don't really care about it. Anyway I apparently remember past seasons of this show like past seasons of Survivor I guess. 🤣 None the less I am happy to see everyone but the mayor and his wife and the red-head friend of Asta. Please Fake Harry can you please kill them for me. The token "good" Gray may be a fun new character and Harry stuck as a human may also be fun. But how nobody questions Fake Harry with his sudden chain smoking, Donald Jr ugly greasy hair new persona just shows you how dumb the humans of Patience continue to be. KittyQ Thursday at 05:55 PM Share Thursday at 05:55 PM Apparently the people of Patience lack the ability to discern differences. After all, when "our" Harry assumed the person of the "real" Harry Van der Spiegel, they were a little confused, but accepted him pretty quickly. However, his quirks are quirky enough that you'd expect they would notice the obvious differences, like suddenly hating pie, being "cool", and smoking cigarettes. I guess the citizens of Patience are also too polite to ask rude questions, despite the many, many strange things in their town. I wish Linda Hamilton would return. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153882-s04e01-prisoners/#findComment-8684020

I think Harry, the original human, was not very social or friendly or involved with the town. so they didn’t know him very well. The smoking and pie thing should have put them off now, unless mantis has some kind of acceptance pheromone he’s exuding. Orbert Sunday at 01:30 PM Share Sunday at 01:30 PM I'm glad the show is back. Had to wait a week to catch it on streaming. Yeah, it's kinda dumb sometimes, and sometimes really dumb, but it's so funny. Alien Harry was such a weird, rude, loveable (?) asshole, that when the Mantid takes it up a notch they don't even realize it's not "our" Harry. Yeah, that first shot of the kids, wow. This is what happens when a show has child actors and you go a couple years between seasons. Still them, though, same dynamic. Max is kind of a doofus, with occassional moments of not-doofus, and Sahar is still obnoxious and condescending, but it's mostly tolerable because she's usually right. Liv is still the best, and I'm glad she's at a healthier weight. Nice touch that they included the line about her climbing up the mountain regularly to visit Peter and how it's provided her some great exercise. Mike is still obnoxious and full of himself, but got another one of those rare "shiny" moments with Liv's new uniform, although realistically it shouldn't have been a thing in the first place. I don't understand why Asta and D'Arcy had the Hawthorne's baby, while meanwhile Kate is going nuts and Ben is... well, still Ben. And now they've taken her to the reservation? Because the Grey Aliens will be back and somehow the baby is safer with them than with her own parents? Or is it just a plot device so they all have something to do? We even got a quick shot of Judy being Judy, so I think we've checked in with every character. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153882-s04e01-prisoners/#findComment-8685694

Do the Grey Aliens just steal human babies, or do they have some special interest in this particular baby? And shouldn't Asta and D'Arcy at least clue the Hawthornes in on what they're doing? Kate is going kinda nuts and is looking forward to the aliens coming back to abduct her, just so she can go up their, kick their asses, and take her baby back. Which they don't actually have. Either way, it doesn't exactly sound like a great plan, but I might be misunderstanding things. 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153882-s04e01-prisoners/#findComment-8685936
possibilities Monday at 01:31 AM Share Monday at 01:31 AM The Greys steal babies. They have a lot of them. There was a whole thing about it last season. We don't know why. And they can't tell Kate because the Greys have ways of hypnotizing humans, and extracting info from us. It's a terrible mess, but they are trying to prevent the baby from being taken again, and the only way to do that is to keep the greys from figuring out who has the baby and who knows where she is. They can't risk Kate knowing anything because anything she knws will be extracted by the Greys. And then they can go after the people who have her, and take her back. I had to re-watch all the previous episodes to understand this. Having these long breks between seasons make it much harder to follow. Right now, a lot of the characters know about aliens and yet they all know different pieces of info. I am guessing they eventually converge on a shared mission and solve the problem together, but I don't know how and it is very creepy how D'arcy and Asta are surveilling Kate and Ben's house and nobody knows what anybody else is doing. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153882-s04e01-prisoners/#findComment-8686253
Orbert Monday at 03:36 AM Share Monday at 03:36 AM Thank you. I guess that's the part I was missing, that the aliens can hypnotize humans and get the info they want. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153882-s04e01-prisoners/#findComment-8686479
peachmangosteen Monday at 12:56 PM Share Monday at 12:56 PM (edited) Well, they can do it to Kate particularly. I'm not sure it's been established they can to anyone. Which like I said is why they can't tell Kate. The Grays can access to her with their orb things. Affogato Monday at 03:28 PM Share Monday at 03:28 PM I winder if Kate is part of their long term breeding program, perhaps why Max can see aliens. It is possible the greys are changing humans while changing the earth, looking for slaves or merging the species. We know the aliens raise human helpers. Explains Bruce’s fanning. 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153882-s04e01-prisoners/#findComment-8686638
possibilities Yest. at 01:33 AM Share Yest. at 01:33 AM (edited) Harry can hypnotize people, too. We saw him do it to Kate, Ben, and Asta, though in some cases he was erasing memories, not just eliciting info. Ilovepie 23 hours ago Share 23 hours ago Glad I'm not the only one who had forgotten most of the plots! But still glad it's back. I kind of loved "fake" Harry - what a tool, and his mating dance and Asta's ick face was hilarious! Not one bit surprised that nobody thought any differently about him when he had his new persona - it's kind of in character for him to behave strangely. I think Asta got a clue when he didn't want the pizza. On 6/10/2025 at 1:25 AM, noctis87 said: Oh, and Asta and Joseph? I'm not mad about it. Me either - he's pretty to look at, and he's not working for the Grey's anymore! It was disconcerting how different half the cast looked - Kate and Liv look so different. Liv looks great, Kate looks very thin. I loved the conversation between the Mayor and Mike regarding how to tell Liv she looks great without making it sound like she looked bad before- "Not gonna touch that" 🤣 The kids are so old now they look completely different - I didn't even recognize Sahar except for her bossy mouth telling Max what to do.... Favorite Line: "She has red hair, but not like a color found in nature" 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153882-s04e01-prisoners/#findComment-8687444
