Please let them do the entire interview without asking him about how he went to the bathroom or making a joke about it. 🤞  (Well, Joy won't be there, so there's a chance.)

But Whoopi will be there so… yeah.

I’m going to have to tape it and watch sometime. I have a house full of babies (and their parents) for a few more days.

From what I read/heard, they are not allowed to leave the floor once they start or they are done. He said that he didn't eat since the Friday before and didn't drink anything since Sunday. So that is pretty impressive!

I wish Whoopi would stop using the price of eggs as an example of how the economy is going. She ignores the fact that millions of chickens were killed due to Bird Flu. When you eliminate that many chickens, there are going to be many fewer eggs available, and it is inevitable that a scarce commodity will cost more. So, using the price of eggs as an economic example is dishonest. You probably won't see any price improvement until the chicken population increases, regardless of Trump's economic policies.

I know he said he would improve the cost of groceries, but when eggs are scarce, no one is going to bring that price down. Use something else to use when complaining that he hasn't followed through - how is the price of milk? What about beef, or bread?

It's the hypocrisy that bothers me. A lot of people who criticized Biden for prices being high are now giving Trump a pass when his decisions are going to raise prices.

I haven't noticed that many people are giving Trump a pass on this, but that's just my experience. I'm hearing more people criticizing his decisions than not.

FWIW, he's always seemed to exaggerate his ability to effect change, and even more, whatever accomplishments he has, so I, and other people I know, take whatever he says with a large grain of salt. But as the saying goes, even a blind pig finds an acorn occasionally, so to be fair, Trump may sometimes do something right, and we should acknowledge that too. (This is not likely to be one of those times)

trump announced 3 days ago that the price of eggs has come down by 59%.

Maybe Whoopi talks about it because he talks about ?

Maybe.

Although, I think that it is possible that the price rebounded because Bird Flu isn't claiming so many chicken lives so there are more eggs to be had and it has nothing to do with anything Trump has done, even though I'm sure he's happy to take credit for it.

Interesting that when Michelle Obama didn't appear at the Inauguration or Carter's funeral, people could only imagine that her marriage was breaking up, not that she chose to not appear due to other plans or just didn't give a damn about going to a funeral. I can imagine people thinking, "She can't be thoughtless, selfish, or uncaring - she must be getting divorced!"

Personally, I would have been inclined to skip the inauguration, but going to the funeral would be more respectful.

Michelle Obama attended Rosalyn Carter's service. I don't get the speculation of why she didn't attend other political events. She's not a politician.

True, the wives aren't the elected ones, but most of them (except maybe Melania) spend a lot of time campaigning and once in the White House, getting involved in some social and charity things. Michelle had her projects for school lunches, etc. for example. So, they are public personalities forever identified with the Presidency, and when a former President dies, there is an expectation that the living Presidents and First Ladies will attend the funeral. Obviously, not a requirement, but just as it could be seen as a slight to your friends or family if you decide to skip a funeral, someone's absence is noted.

Michelle still has projects she's working on, so skipping an event like this could possibly affect how people see her and support whatever she's working on.

How nice of her to grace us with her presence. 😆 I haven't watched a Friday show in eons...are they back to evergreens on Fridays?

Yes, I believe it's been like that since the show came back from their holiday break at the beginning of the year. I think they only used to have that schedule in the summers, but it seems to be a permanent change now. Unfortunate, because all the other talk shows also tape only Monday-Thursday, so it was nice to have this one show discuss the latest news five days a week.

I like how Whoopi was making it sound like she was so benevolent for "being there" on a Friday when the Friday show is always pre-recorded.  🙄

And...didn't she make her tired/old/boring/repetitive/joke/comment letting us (and them)  know the audience was familiar to her BECAUSE THIS IS THE SECOND TAPING OF THE DAY ???

Hey Back Atcha is the show on vacation? My DVR didn’t tape and now have it set for repeats as well but won’t show it as taping. I realize by looking  at on demand they are repeats all this week. Guess I’m not paying attention if they mentioned it .

If Michelle not going to those two events makes people have a negative opinion of her they most likely didn't like her already.  The way her and her husband have been treated by a not small percentage of this country is shameful.  People said she was a man and her children weren't her children.  If she doesn't want to go places she is going to see people who contributed to the vitriol directed towards her family that is her right.

100000000x Yes!

Good for her.

And we have had radio silence about the current first lady "Be Best", who has been MIA for 95 % of the first administration and this one so far.

Barack Obama did not attend Rosalynn Carter's service, and neither did George Bush, although their wives did. (All the former and current First Ladies were there.) I am only speaking for myself when I say that a husband and a wife are allowed to attend functions independent of the other and not be judged for it. As "Joy" would say, "So what? Who cares?"

I've been noticing Sunny's laugh because it sounds much deeper and rougher than her speaking voice, almost like a smoker's laugh. I don't think she smokes, it's  just interesting.

How long has/will Sara been delegated to support Alyssa?

Also, has anyone else noticed that Sara's statements in the past month or so,  or longer,  don't make much sense? It's like she quickly memorized what she is supposed to say,  but her insecurity about saying it right and getting it all out makes her come across as very nervous (her voice shakes) , and then she sounds not at all authentic or believable. The others also seem to ignore her and her comment after she speaks.  Even Alyssa looks uncomfortable about the pity support.
