Laughed at Barbara telling the "thought the racist uncle was dead" story TO Melissa.

Man, everyone is getting nice with O'Shon except Jacob. And of course Melissa still goes to school without him. And Barbara will be a dream team with him, but will not grab a drink with him. Dang.

Of course Gregory wants the kids to drink regular milk over chocolate, while Mr. Johnson pushes the chocolate milk because he's against Big Coffee because he thinks it stunts growth.

I feel for everyone dealing with school in the era of zoom and hybrid classes. I graduated college 15 years ago, it's all weird to me. I did like one of the Goofballs meeting virtually, and Jacob and Barbara's celebration over why their students keep getting distracted.

I really liked the solution with the party bus. It was so cute how the kids were into it. Janine finally became Miss Frizzle. I laughed at the horn being the Vengaboys "We Like To Party" (Janine was definitely channeling those old Six Flags commercials lol)

That bus is certainly one way to deal with the issue of getting students to school :D! I like how Janine was wearing some of the party stuff from the bus in one of the camera interview bits, LOL. I also like how we can sympathize with both sides here - I too want the union to stand strong, and I also feel for Janine and the teachers in general as they try and deal with a shortage of students and try to do the remote learning thing and all that. Jacob and Barbara with their students was so good.

I also like Gregory and O'Shon hitting it off. I'd be all for seeing more of them interacting in general.

This was my favorite episode of this season. The kids were great especially Lila. I wonder if Chloe and Hazel are really sisters they looked alike. There was an article in the Boston Globe about older siblings helping younger siblings with schoolwork at the start of Covid and this episode reminded me of those times. I love Gregory and Janine being drama free.

I liked it better when Melissa and Jacob were enjoying living together, sharing tv shows they both liked, etc. I really don't like the way a lot of shows will choose one character to bully. Even Janine has been taking part in the ganging up on Jacob. They used to be best buds! And she used to never be unkind to anyone, ever. I like her growth, but this isn't  particular behavior isn't growth.

I don't think Jacob is being bullied he doesn't realize that he's annoying others. He kept talking to the bus driver even though the driver wasn't paying attention to him. Melissa is trying to set boundaries with Jacob.

It’s nice that Janine’s kids got to school…what about their siblings and all the other kids??

It's one of those storylines where you aren't really supposed to think too much about it.  I'm more worried about Melissa's class.  She seemed entirely checked out from teaching to focus on watching the strike on her phone.

I DIED. Also Janine just has a commercial driver’s license?

I’m glad they did something with remote learning, because that’s now part of reality for teachers-and next to impossible with younger kids.

My best friend’s youngest was four in peak COVID and so they tried to do Zoom pre-K, and my friend was like “It is CHAOS. I HATE IT.”

Gregory was going to work out BEFORE the pickup game at 6? He must get up at like 4.

The look on her face when he was talking is why Sheryl Lee Ralph has an Emmy.

Little Lila’s enthusiasm was adorable. When she said she’d been waiting for this all year I was like “Do the project!” (Also when she said “the universe is falling apart!” I was like “… Yeah.”)

Lila was the best. Barbara must remember when Jacob ruined Christmas lunch in season 2. It's fine for colleagues not to spend time with other after work.

Or bringing the mani-pedi ladies to the nail salon.

Yes; scabbing would be taking money from the city to drive the trains; not driving someone to work for free - or even for pay - or any taxis and Ubers driving people who normally take Septa would be scabs.

I think that it was just for the finish of the universe project that needed Lila and all the planet kids to complete it. So, it was just necessary to have Janine's kids all there that one day.

And those kids got a story to tell for the rest of their lives. They were the kids that took a party bus to school one day, what other kids can get to say that?

Anyone whose parents rent the bus for a few hours?  It's a cute story, but unless it's the actual Magic School Bus, it doesn't seem the thing of lifelong memories.

Otherwise, I don't understand why he hates Jacob.

Just to note, the Septa bus driver has thrown Jacob off the bus what appears to be a few times because he annoyed him.

I see it as one part "Jacob is just that annoying to people," one part "Mr. Morton is just a terrible person," and one part Sitcom Arch-Nemesis trope (like, as previously said, Michael Scott's random hatred of Toby)

Some people may think he tries too hard to be an ally. Jacob applying to Moorehouse might be offensive for some of the teachers.

Wasn't Morton sobbing in the bathroom last episode because everyone hates him?  (But not Mr. Johnson.)  His issues are not only with Jacob.

Was he crying about his divorce? (I can't exactly remember.)

In the Always Sunny crossover, we see Mr Johnson putting some of the yucky stuff from the garden in Morton's lunch bag.
