agathapenny November 15 Share November 15 I would actually love to see Athena with a probie going forward. Lots of potential for funny, touching and serious. Is there any kind of psychological evaluation to get into the LAPD? Because I can't see how that kid would have passed. The genuine glee in his eyes when talking about how afraid his father was of the cops and how that was real power was not at all subtle. Wonder how long Brad's going to be around? His man-crush on Bobby continues to be hilarious. I'm with Buck's friends that he shouldn't reach out to Tommy. It's up to Tommy to do some grovelling if they ever want this viewer to be on board with any kind of reunion. And can I just say again, thank goodness the moustache is gone! 9 Link to comment
buttersister November 15 Share November 15 The Brad Torrance story has gone on past its shelf life. I can tell because Captain Bobby’s eye roll was so over the top, as if he was going for something big when the story is becoming so small. The cop shooting was a real ripped from the headlines story. Better luck with the next car mate, Athena. I miss not seeing Athena and Bobby together. 9 Link to comment
CoyoteBlue November 15 Share November 15 SovCits make me want to shoot them, too, but damn, boy. 5 hours ago, agathapenny said: Is there any kind of psychological evaluation to get into the LAPD? Yeah, the actor was pretty good at giving me the willies. Brad's "redemption" will last all of an episode, I'm sure, before he reverts to an a-hole and returns to getting fawned on by Captain A-hole. 8 Link to comment
NeenerNeener November 15 Share November 15 I can't help thinking Athena was doing a bit too much pontificating in this episode. I started to think the jewelry store heist was part of the Hot Shots tv show she went on so long. And if she hadn't preached at "Flash Rob" so long she might have been able to slap cuffs on him before he ran. 9 1 Link to comment

I was shocked he actually shot that lady. I'm glad they did this story. I've long said that police work is the type of job that attracts bullies which is why you wind up with overzealous cops on a power trip. It's ironic that Brad doesn't like Gerrard as the on-show consultant since he got such a rush from Bobby threatening to beat his limey ass. If Gerrard went back to being his usual bossy asshole self instead of trying to be a sycophant, Brad would probably like him better. 6 1 Link to comment
tennisgurl November 15 Share November 15 I knew that something was up with the probie paired with Athena, obviously she was biased (she was annoyed with just the idea of riding with someone) but he really did look gleeful talking about how he loved that cops made his dad afraid. I am actually excited to see Athena with a partner, it would do her a world of good not to run into every single dangerous situation alone. It seems like hilarity and heartwarming moments will ensue. Look, those SovCits are super annoying, but you cant just shoot them because they piss you off. I enjoyed Bobby as a tech advisor and Brad as an annoying fanboy, but I think its past time to wrap this up. We had a perfect way to get rid of Captain Asshole and close up the Hotshots plot, lets not backpaddle. Uncle Buck (heh) is super cute with Jee. Keep that phone away from him, if Tommy is thinking about him he can be the one who reaches out, calling him after being dumped is just...sad. I'm torn between wanting to see more of his relationship Tommy growing, and thinking it would be fun to see Buck navigating dating as a bisexual man for first time. Honestly, I was worried that Buck would deal with his breakup via endless hookups, baking is at least healthier than that. 9 Link to comment

Clanstarling Friday at 07:26 PM Share Friday at 07:26 PM (edited) I spent a good third of the show wondering how the probie got through training with a training officer and why they weren't addressing that...and then remembered that was The Rookie, and not this show. 😂 I'm already not looking forward to the actor shadowing Bobby. possibilities Friday at 08:39 PM Share Friday at 08:39 PM That vile beahvior at the restaurant makes the actor irredeemable to me. I don't think he's fun to watch. I think he will get in the way and cause a problem during an emergency. 11 Link to comment

andromeda331 Friday at 10:04 PM Share Friday at 10:04 PM I was really hoping not to see Brad again. I was done with him when Bobby came back to the firehouse. Wow, I didn't think the rookie would shoot the woman. Those SovCit tick me off too but shooting her? But it is something that seems to happen a lot in real life cops being way too quick to shoot someone. Plus he was esculating the situation right before he shot. He switched to anger very fast after the woman wouldn't do what he wanted her to do. He already took unnecessary risks with the first call. How he got that far I don't know. Athena training someone might be fun to watch. I liked Buck dealing with his breakup by baking. Listen to your friends Buck don't call or text him. Tommy broke up with you. It's up to him to make contact. I love Buck figuring out Maddie was pregnant after she wouldn't eat his brie (he made brie!). 8 Link to comment
michelec Saturday at 01:13 AM Share Saturday at 01:13 AM (edited) I'm wondering where Henry is. From what we saw of Athena and Bobby's rental it looks like it's a one bedroom, and Athena hasn't said anything about him at all this season. I guess we have to assume he's back in Miami with Michael and David. Not a big deal in the scheme of things but it's been bugging me LOL. Edited Saturday at 01:14 AM by michelec 5 Link to comment

That he used the wrong weapon (and yes, a taser is still a potentially lethal weapon) just exacerbated the key problem, which was his totally unnecessary escalation of the situation because he got angry when she insulted him. She was a twit, just like all the idiot SovCit followers, but in no way did that situation need to become violent, and wouldn't have if the officer wasn't a ticking time bomb. And the driver walks away with a ton of government cash and her beliefs even more firmly entrenched than they were to start with. Not to mention her poor kid. 8 Link to comment

Yeah the poor kid was traumatized and will probably end up having the same beliefs as her mother. 7 Link to comment

To be fair, I only had one experience with it, which ended in food poisoning. But is baking brie somehow difficult? I'm not sure why it's considered special or amazing. Brie -all soft cheeses, I think- is amongst the no-go / verboten foods for a pregnant person. 4 2 Link to comment
kwnyc Sunday at 02:26 AM Share Sunday at 02:26 AM That taser shooting was ripped from the headlines. The officer who did it was actually a veteran and she ended up going to jail. Well I'm sure they'll drop the storyline, but that cop is going to be more than just kicked off the force. He'll probably be charged. Is Buck going to change? Probably not. He never changes. He's so good with kids because he's just a big kid. And in his coma timeline, he was a kindergarten teacher, right? Don't care about Brad. Don't care about Garrett. They can both go away. I don't think they'll do another tragic Maddie pregnancy. She and Chim have a pretty functional relationship at this point. Their neuroses complement each other. 6 Link to comment

Snazzy Daisy Tuesday at 09:04 PM Author Share Tuesday at 09:04 PM Jee and Uncle Buck the baker are adorbs! 😘 Athena and her rookie remind me of Tim and Lucy from The Rookie especially when she does a “Tim Test” on him. Captain Gerrard goes from a no-nonsense villain to a marshmallow who cries and runs errand to impress a TV star — inconsistent characterization. Instead of bringing snobby Brad to shadow Bobby, why can’t they just bring Ravi back? He’s way more likeable than Brad. 😏 3 Link to comment
