And Bill Burr is as awful as I remember him from last time.

Yes, it was funny with Jost trying to get Che in trouble. It really made me laugh when the gang hung the new cast members out to dry and the camera pans over to the 3 who were like “whaaat?”. The hot jacked Trump debut was funny too

Question about the Buffalo Wild Wings ad: why would Burr's character have a Quebec Nordiques logo on his cast?

Aw, I like Willie. I think he peaked with "Them turkeys are runnin' a train on your dog, Willie!"

ETA: Here's the logo. That was on the cast, right? I didn't imagine that.

Cold Open: Well, at least they didn't go the forlorn piano route again. EASILY the best cold open in ages. Just dripping with sarcasm and Dana as Paul McCartney Elon Musk. Throwing the new guys under the bus was great. But I still have PTSD over Jacked Trump over those stupid gifs that were all over twitter during the first time. (Not excited that above everything else, he took away the only thing Grover Cleveland is remembered for)

Monologue: Bill Burr gave the monologue he was gonna give. Totally not a polarizing guy at all! He jokes, but that weave most likely really did save Trump's life.

Rorschach Test: Mike Wazowski in wedding lingerie mooning the audience was the last thing I was expecting. Then came Topless Elsa, and Jacked Snoopy in a thong. And Ellie from Up and Mater Chief in Bed. And Bandit from Bluey in S&M gear. The graphics department was having fun this week.

BWW: We get our redux of the Dunkin sketch with Bill as a Patriots fan at a Buffalo Wild Wings. That was fun.

Snakeskin: Kid doesn't understand 80s hair metal. Is it weird that I kinda liked their songs? That they were men from Long Island in their 40s was both hilarious specific, and an obvious nod to Twisted Sister.

The Janitor: This was silly as hell. If Will Hunting was an incompetent janitor. A much grosser Farewell Mr. Bunting. 

Dads: Bill Burr was like a conversation with my own dad, worrying about the car and all. "Well, I'll let ya go" was the most real thing said on this show in a long time. 

WU: Same, Che. Same. And Ego's bit with trying to find stuff in her purse was great. I knew they were getting some mileage out of the escaped monkeys. And they've been holding on to that "Goodbye" joke for the You Got Mail guy since 1998.

And it was great to see Willie again!

Bald Restaurant: Oh good, a really silly one. The casting call for extras in this sketch had to have been fun. Loved seeing Mikey awkwardly saluting at the end.

Trauma Support Group: For once Bill Burr is the therapist! Seriously, the Bald sketch was one of the only live Burr sketches to not involve therapy. I was wondering why there were so many donuts in the background, and turns out it was because Bowen ate them.

Jokes: New girl gets to shine! Wasn't exactly feeling this one.

Overall, really liked this one! The last two sketches lost steam, but I think it was mostly hits. Next week is double duty from Charli XCX. And hey, we got a Quincy Jones tribute at the end!

I liked the cold open. Poor Che! I hope we've seen the last of Dana's Biden. Poor Andy Samberg must've been expecting a longer run as Doug Emhoff. 

I've never thought that Bill Burr's standup was funny, so I thought he might as well have hosted this week because I can't imagine I would've been laughing at the monologue anyway. He did not change my mind. 

Ink blots: pretty good. Wild Wings: another fight with his son like Burr's Paul Adams commercial when he was on a few years ago. I grew up in Boston so it was okay.  

Snake Skin: weird! Good Will Hunting: weird! but a good Robin Williams impression. Bald Men: weird! Joke table: weird! 

I liked the Dad phone calls, maybe because I'm missing my own dad who died 25 years ago this month.

WU: I'm still sad.

Samuel at the support group: I really only laughed when they broke up. 

I wasn't really in the mood to give this show a fair shake, I think.

I was okay with Bill. If SNL wants Dana Carvey over, I'd rather he play Musk instead of Biden, because his Biden is depressing. Also, if he's going to drop in more often, maybe we should get his George Bush stuff readily available online. Good times.

I will miss Jim Gaffigan as Tim Walz.

He was the namesake of Grover Cleveland Alexander, a pitcher who won 373 games from 1911-1930, and who was played by Ronald Regan in The Winning Team. I can't imagine anyone having a sports career and being named for that other guy. Man, I hope not.

If you didn't like Bill Burr, think of it this way . . . at least we didn't get Dave Chappelle for the third post-Presidential Election in a row.

He's also the only president to get married in the white house and barring the public's ick factor with older guys /younger girls lowering, he will probably always have the youngest first lady record.

 

Yea, I didn't give this show too much of a chance, would've preferred an angrier show, which is where Burr normally excels, but it is what it is.

Given this week and the chance for some scathing comedy, it felt like the show was neutered.

Felt the same with Bill Maher this week.

I get what the cold opening was trying to do, but I was in no mood. Did laugh a little at Colin trying to get Che in trouble but that was it.

I want one more bit with Maya’s Kamala at least: “Funt out, byyyye!”

Agree, it wasn't funny - mostly because I'm pretty sure Trump and his people wouldn't recognize it for what it was, and likely would read it at face value ... and then still reject it.

YMMV, as always. I laughed a single time the whole show, when Burr's dad character greeted his son calling him with, "Well, it was good talking to you." So dad.

I like Burr, but this was not the week for him. It's not fun watching someone be angry over trivial things given actual events this week. And I'm an independent, for pete's sake.

They needed silliness this week. The bald sketch had a chance but was cliche and weirdly outdated, given how many men purposefully shave their head's today. The Rorschach test skit had a chance as well, but it was never clear why Burr's character was seeing what he did nor if he was the only fireman seeing it (eventually that became apparent, but they let him hang alone for a while).

The Good Will Hunting ( a movie I still have not seen, but know the plot anyway) sketch should have gone more absurd with the barf and had a sharper transition between discovering a janitor genius and being surrounded by barf. It felt uncertain. And the grief class was just annoying, not sure why the cast member screamed like that but meh.

Maybe I just wasn't ready for it.

I'm pretty sure that was the Barstool asshole, Dave Portnoy.

I liked the cold open, especially the Che jokes and the new cast being thrown under the bus.

Overall, I thought it was just okay. Not bad, but not great, either. I did love Che on WU. 

The musical guest was talented, but it seemed like his songs weren't complete. Anyway, I might dig a little deeper into his catalog. 

Was Chloe in this episode? I don't remember seeing her other than on stage during the good nights?

For many, that's called surrendering with grace.  There aren't many men who have the ability to grow a full head of hair and shave it just because they look better.  Heck, look at Biden and Trump - they've both spent a lot of time (or at least money) on hair surgeries instead if accepting the inevitable.

I found it strange because Burr would probably have been a Boston Bruins fan given that he was a Patriots fan. Someone from Quebec might be working in the props department.

Sometimes, yes. Other times, it fits an image. And that is what I am getting at. Lots of manly action heroes today have shaved heads. Lots of men who are considered attractive have shaved heads. Lots of athletes, young dudes. Mocking men for being bald is a relic of the past.

Didn't get Bill's dad bod outfit but okay.
I agree with Bill about the incessant pantsuits, and bet he got that take from his wife, the lovely Nia.

OMG, surely Pixar and Disney didn't approve of those risque images. Jacked Snoopy and BDSM Bluey. Yikes.

The Buffalo Wild Wings sketch probably was drawn from some of Bill's actual memories with his dad.

80's sex rock. Never heard of that era, lol. Andrew was killing it in the Diana Ross wig.

What the hell, Donnie! Cleaning up the baahhf is more important than solving the Fourier equation! The dean hit Donnie wth a belt. (According to reddit JAJ did an outstanding impression of Robin Williams but I've haven't seen Good Will Hunting so it went right by me.)

Mk.gee. Never heard of him but I liked his vibe. Kind of a throwback to Rick Springfield or The Police during their Synchronicity phase.

Kenan was cracking himself up. Meh, the bit wasn't that hilarious to me. Viola Coochie tho.

Andrew aced his bald cap. Guess Bill is feeling a way about going bald.

I thought Bowen was on target with his wannabe sigma male imitation.

Didn't care for Mk.gee's second song but it had a good beat and you could dance to it. 😉

Two restaurant sketches, again? Hah, the smoke was still wafting from Mk.gee's performance.

Seemed like there was a lot more of Emil and Ashley in this episode.

Billy had a tough audience on a tough week but he did the best he could under the circumstances I suppose. He can keep working on his 5-timers jacket.

I liked the bald musical sketch...Python-like with the dancers and flag bearers. You know the extras were having a blast.

The Dad phone call sketch was real and I thought Kenan and Devon had a nice chemistry as dad and son. 

Che drinking at the desk hit with me...it's going to be a long four years.

They tried with the CO. I did like Colin trying to throw Che under the bus, but basically, I didn't laugh.

Didn't like the monologue. I think I've only liked Bill Burr in Breaking Bad.

For some reason, I did laugh in the fire station sketch when Bill said, "... the dead wife from Up."

The bald man sketch had promise, but they didn't really pull it off. I agree that the show should have had a lot of silliness.

A waste of time.

Omigosh, that piano bit was ridiculous.  I have to admit I was expecting something similar again, so I was pleasantly surprised when they took a comedic turn.  I also enjoyed them kicking the new cast members under the bus. 

I thought the show was stronger than average.  As someone said there wasn't a weak sketch in the bunch (although I thought the Bald Restaurant bit and Jokes fit that category).  I liked the Rorschach sketch, Dads, The Janitor, Snakeskin, and even Weekend Update was better than usual.  Che was on fire.

Funny how it seems like they put Burr into practically every sketch, compared to how they did with Michael Keaton, where he was barely in it.
