I don't know if anyone here watches The Young and the Restless.  Wait, bear with me. It strikes me how much alike Victor and Trump are. Both are despots. Both have basically useless, grifting children. Both have egos that need constant stroking. Both think they are the smartest person in the room. And both have wives who were formerly trashy (Nicki was a stripper in her youth) but now walks around with her nose in the air. Nicki's nose is actually tipped up into the air.

Everyone .... hope your day starts with a grin. We all need it.

John Stewart went on an amazing rant last night about the shooting and republican response. I don’t know of any way I can reproduce it or provide a link but perhaps you all can find it in some fashion. 

  

I think it may show upon you tube later in the week for those who do not have cable or paramount plus.

MN Senator Tina Smith confronted Senator Mike Lee (MAGA Utah) on Monday over his ‘cruel’ social media posts about the Minnesota shootings 

Lee posted a photo of the suspect and wrote “this is what happens when Marxists get there way”

Smith said she wanted him to know directly from her how much pain that he caused and think about the impact his actions had.

Wasn't there an episode of some medical show with that exact storyline - a braindead woman carrying a baby until it's ready for birth?  And at the end, the baby didn't make it either?

The baby was delivered by Caesarean section on Friday.

They are taking Adriana Smith off life support today. Baby Chance will be in the NICU for the foreseeable future. That poor family. The lack of proper care when Ms. Smith first sought help, being kept alive as an incubator, and who knows what kind of medical debt they will now have to deal with... a preventable tragedy.

There was an episode of the Handmaid's Tale, and I think there was one on Grey's Anatomy, where a family wanted to keep a woman on life support, until her baby made it to term.

I remember a L&O SVU one like that too. The brain dead girl's mom had paid and orderly to rape her daughter so she could have a grandchild. I don't recall whether the baby made it or not.

I watched this last night; it was the most perfect rant/opinion piece that maybe I have ever heard or seen. My brother (in another state) texted me "are you watching this? Masterpiece" ... and it was that and much much more. This is what it all, basically, boils down to.

Lol, I watched Y&R for years, probably decades and while I agree that both have weak, useless children and they both are tyrants, TGVN is a highly successful, self made businessman, whereas Trump is a miserable failure and secondly, Victor was hot in his younger years. Donald Trump had never been anywhere near the handsome man that Victor was.

As a devoted supporter of President Donald Trump, you can imagine the joy I felt when I read that The Trump Organization is launching a mobile phone service featuring a classy (fake) gold smartphone.

For far too long, my ability to show support for President Trump and the MAGA movement has been limited to hats, shirts, hoodies, beer koozies, key fobs, glassware, flags, pickleball paddles, footballs, ties, socks, aprons, beach towels, sunglasses, wallets, soft-cover journals, flip-flops, sneakers and tote bags. That has understandably left me feeling incomplete, thinking: “If only I had a Trump phone to complete the look.”

Well, now that problem will be solved for the low, low price of $499 plus a monthly mobile-service charge and, who knows, maybe a recurring donation to a Trump super PAC or something fun like that. (I can afford it because, to honor Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., I’ve stopped taking expensive blood-pressure medication and started drinking raw milk and a potent cocktail of horse dewormer and Brazilian toad urine.)

I initially clicked on it thinking "oh god does this idiot really think this way" and was relieved to find that it was satire. With that though I found it funny and informative, and yeah, rage inducing too.

I was one of those women!  We were always going to use a Biblical name for either the first or middle - one that could be used as a Hebrew name should the child choose to explore their Jewish heritage more deeply.

You want to hear something that made it even worse, to me?  He didn't even get to the two mass shootings in my/my neighboring city in the last 3-5 years.  They both fell into the workplace/disgruntled coworker category, which I don't think even made the list (I recognized schools, churches, nightclubs, concerts...)

I listened to a WSJ podcast this morning and the phone will EVENTUALLY be made in the US.  But still, there's no way it could launch at $499 in August.

I hope it's not real because surely every email message would have "Sent from my Trump Phone" appended at the end.

So amidst all the bluster and bravado that Trump is aiming at Iran right now he's pulling out the big gun - he's threatening to send JD Vance over to Iran to negotiate.  That will end well.

And this is just so presidential.  FDR would be kicking himself.  Had he only known the best way to deal with Hitler was an all caps telegram.  The road not taken...

I'm curious to know why a branded phone plus service when they could extract the same data with an app. An app would be cheaper to develop and have a larger reach. Having a branded phone that is not going to have IOS is going to severely limit the number of people willing to buy it. The intended consumer base for this product is only going to be the MAGA faithful who buy cheap prepaid Android based phones. The IPhone and IPad contingents are not going to suddenly switch. The cult of Apple is far more ingrained than MAGA. And the Apple people are the ones with far deeper pockets.

We are following this very closely.  This (26 Fed) is blocks from my office.  Someone has told me there is an impropmptu rally at 26 Fed, but I'm not sure.  I'm trying to watch the local stations.   Brad Lander is very brave, if you watch the video.

Just heard that Brad Lander was freed.  Heard from a friend whose husband is on his staff.  More will be on the news.  

NY 1 is showing Lander giving a speech on the street.  

Lander is saying that the ICE agents were immigrants! 

He is really speaking truth to power to use a cliche.

Cuomo's campaign is being funded by many of the same billionaires who funded Trump's campaign. He's currently one of the frontrunners. 😠

Early primary voting is happening now in NYC. It is a ranked voting system that many people do not fully understand. If anyone here has friends or family eligible to vote in the five boroughs of NYC, please tell them NOT to rank Cuomo at all. They can rank up to five candidates of their choosing.

Eric Adams is running as an Independent this year, so he does not appear on this Democratic primary ballot. He will be on the General Election ballot.
