Everything I'm seeing just reinforces my conviction that there is no god, and to be honest, I can't wrap my head around how people can worship any entity that they think is at the core responsible for this. But they've done it before, and they'll do it again. That's the genius of the system. On 5/6/2025 at 5:44 AM, bluegirl147 said: If voters wanted to elect someone who never makes the right decision. Never listens to people who actually know what the right decision is. Is corrupt. And keeps digging a bigger hole for America to fall into then yeah I can understand why people voted for him. That's my sole consolation in all of this. My screen name is based on a lifetime of experience, and I just keep telling myself, "The people have spoken. It's not what I chose, but I'm almost never in the mainstream, so this is just another case of that, on a tragically grand scale." For a while, I thought it could actually be a win-win situation. The two possible outcomes seemed to be (1) I was wrong and Trump is right, or (2) Trump is wrong and people will finally see it, and even better, maybe they'll remember how hard that lesson was to learn and not fall for it again. As for #1, nobody wants to be wrong, but if it resulted in a better world, I would take the L. As for #2, I didn't realize there could possibly be a #3, which of course is that Trump is wrong and people will refuse to believe it. That caught me by surprise, but maybe it shouldn't have. After all, people accept tribulations with the promise that some unseen something, usually speaking through a middleman (who often wants their money), will make it all worth it later, including possibly not until after they're dead. If they'll accept that, is it any wonder they accept the guy himself right in front of them, talking directly to them? A rich businessman who "made it," telling them he's going to help them "make it," too? The only way I can deal with it is to focus on "This is what the majority of you asked for" and force myself not to think about the individuals who are being affected. In the past I had some sympathy because I could think, "They didn't ask for this" but I believe that many did in fact did ask for it, either by voting for it or not voting at all. (And I include illegal immigrants in this because of the large voting bloc they comprise. 😀 ) And just in case it's not obvious, I'll state that I'm not impressed with people in general. I actually think we evolved too fast--that our animal instincts needed time to be diluted before we started operating at the level we currently operate at. But that's now how it happened, and we live in a reality we have to deal with. It's a reality that I don't think is good for us, but the people have spoken and they say otherwise. I'm trying to figure out how this material will actually be taught in the classroom and if the teacher would even have time to get to this point. How is the state of Oklahoma going to ensure that this material gets taught? Because there are a lot of ways for teachers to maliciously comply. It's always difficult for teachers to fit in everything during a school year, and good teachers are flexible. They will take the time to fully explain the things that their class struggles to understand or will delve deeper into the topics a particular class really takes to. It's very easy for a teacher to not cover all of the "required" topics in a government or history class. I can easily see a teacher just not getting to this lesson because they ran out of time. I could also see a teacher flat out fucking with this law. Walk into class saying the state requires me to teach you this bullshit, teach said bullshit in a deadpanned manner to emphasis how incorrect the material is, and testing the students with some kind of multiple choice test where all the answers are C. Teens would eat this up. A whole lesson where they are not required to do anything but show up and pass a rigged test. (This is exactly how my high school American history teacher would have handled this law including the profanity.) 8 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150441-chit-chat-the-feels/page/271/#findComment-8654856

tres bien May 7 Share May 7 (edited) I’m done debating the 2024 election hell MAGA is still debating the 2020 election Why in God’s name is the man sitting in the WH upping the ante against CBS months after he won. Why is he going after his perceived enemies of 2020 For all the MAGAS who continue to berate Kamala Harris as someone who can’t put a sentence together or you think inappropriately laughs you must never listen to the mush minded president who can’t put a sentence together says inappropriate things all day and night and into the wee hours of the morning putting out messages in all caps on his “truth” social And thinking things are funny even though he says them with a straight face. Telling reporters this week he had nothing to do with a picture of himself dressed as a pope and “my wife thought it was cute” You don’t have to laugh we all know what you meant If your 401k has lost money but you’re ok with that because “I know it will come back” well good for you you’re probably better off than a lot of people that have nothing other than a 401k to depend on for their future In almost four months of this administration not one positive thing has been achieved. And yeah I know MAGAS are all excited about the border but sorry that’s not what effects the everyday life of most people If this lasts for four years we’re going to be a bankrupt country in many ways Edited May 7 by tres bien 6 3 1 12 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150441-chit-chat-the-feels/page/271/#findComment-8655225

I admit Biden had cognitive decline during his presidency. Do you admit the same about Trump? 5 hours ago, Soapy Goddess said: His #1 promise (which got him elected) was to secure our border, and he did that. His supporters feel safe as he continues to keep that promise. He is weakening us on the world stage. And making us vulnerable to people who wish to do us harm. He can keep ballooning the Defense budget but when you have incompetent people in charge that isn't going to help. 37 minutes ago, tres bien said: Why in God’s name is the man sitting in the WH upping the anti against CBS months after he won. Why is he going after his perceived enemies of 2020 Because that is his comfort zone. He knows how to do that. Actually being President and doing the day to day duties is something he doesn't know how to do. Even though he previously had the job. He (and his most delusional supporters) thinks he is some sort of superhero. Vanquishing opponents. That is what he thinks he is doing. And he is back to renaming things. Glad to see he is doing the important work. https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/trump-plans-announce-us-call-persian-gulf-arabian-121542301 2 1 11 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150441-chit-chat-the-feels/page/271/#findComment-8655240
Popular Post Mollywolly555 May 7 Popular Post Share May 7 Feeling safer because some innocent people from other countries and some criminals were deprived of their constitutional rights and deported at an exorbitant rate levied onto US citizens? Feeling safer because all the white males who make up the vast majority of the violent criminal population in the US are still here? Feeling safer because Trump has alienated all the worldly allies of the US? Feeling safer because he sides with dictators like Putin? His supporters feel safe as he continues to keep that promise. I find it interesting that Obama deported 3 million non-citizens during his tenure, and yet nobody protested. And you can't tell me that all 3 million received "due process" either. But when Trump deports, everyone is up in arms. The double standard between the parties is outstanding & hypocritical. Speaking for myself, no, he does not get a pass for all the shitty stuff. Like many of you, I lost half of my 401K too, but I didn't panic. Is it back to where it was? No, but it's close, and the market will come back. Obama didn't turn our country into a fucking Gestapo when handling issues relating to immigration, the way Trump has. And even then, he still got plenty of criticism from the left especially about his immigration policy. Because, see, unlike Trump supporters, wer'e actually capable of criticizing our own party and leaders when need be. (I find it interesting you point out Obama's stance on immigration, though, considering one of the big complaints from the right ins that the left supposedly wants open borders and wants our country "flooded with illegal immigrants". So which is it? Either they're just as bad/tough as Trump is and should get the same amount of scrutiny as he does, or they're too lax and Trump came in to be the tough guy. You don't get to have it both ways.) And all I heard after the election was that Trump won because of the economy. Supposedly people voted for him because he was going to fix our economy. And he clearly has not done that - you yourself have acknowledged he's screwed up your 401k - and yet he still isn't getting the same kind of criticism from Trump supporters that Biden got. Because the bottom line is that it never REALLY was about the economy. People who voted for him did so because they shared his vile sentiments about women and minorities and will be totally fine with our deconomy and that of the global economy being tanked if it means going after those pesky brown people and LGBTQ+ people and making sure women know their place. That's the real reason they're not turning on him, and I wish they'd just be honest about that already instead of trying to hide behind "secure our borders" BS (which, I will remind you, he has NOT done, he's only exacerbated all the issues the right supposedly has with immigrants, he hasn't solved shit and innocent people who are born and raised here or who came here t hrough legal means are being caught in the crossfire) or "he'll fix our economy" BS. 6 hours ago, Soapy Goddess said: Why are you talking about Biden like that? Yeah, I remember when Biden was getting modked on the international stage for his complete lack of understanding of how tarriffs work and talking about wanting to buy Greenland and make Canada the 51st state and... ...oh, wait, that wasn't Biden? That's all Trump? Whoops, my bad. 5 2 19 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150441-chit-chat-the-feels/page/271/#findComment-8655244

It wasn't for most of Trump supporters and it still won't be when it crashes. Because they believe Trump when he says the good parts of the economy are because of him and the bad things are because of Biden. Although they might not have even heard him say that since the interview wasn't on Fox or any of the other part of the right wing media apparatus. 10 minutes ago, Annber03 said: People who voted for him did so because they shared his vile sentiments about women and minorities and will be totally fine with our deconomy and that of the global economy being tanked if it means going after those pesky brown people and LGBTQ+ people and making sure women know their place I hear people on the left say we shouldn't blame voters. I disagree with that. They are the ones who feed Trump's ego. When he says something racist, veiled or not, they cheer him on. So he keeps doing it. He knows his audience. And that is what voters are to him. An audience. Are we going to talk about the racist woman who started a gofundme after hurling the n word at a 5 yr. old boy on a playground? https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/news/viral-video-racial-slur-rochester-playground-backlash/ In Trump's America racism pays a lot. 7 1 1 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150441-chit-chat-the-feels/page/271/#findComment-8655250

Trump does more in a single day to prove he is unfit for office than Biden did in his entire term as president. This is the MAGA way of diminishing all Biden's accomplishments and handwaving away the reality that Biden left the US with a good economy and a good reputation on the world stage. Funny how I can't recall one instance of Biden going on an all night bender ranting on social media in ALL CAPS. I also can't recall Biden meeting with a world leader and meandering on and on about erasing borders and turning that nation into the 51st state. I also can't recall Biden telling the nation's children that they need to be content with 2 dolls because billionaires need to make even more profit so mommy and daddy will just have to tighten their belts for the foreseeable future. That his supporters are still trying to play the Biden card here is pathetic. 19 1 12 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150441-chit-chat-the-feels/page/271/#findComment-8655272
