Apparently Trump took down Obama's portrait in the White House to put up his 'Fight, Fight, Fight!" picture from his [first] "assassination attempt."

Portraits in Scumbaggery, volume XIX, page 520.

Were there any other portraits that could be taken down? Or was this a "fuck you" that Don just couldn't resist?

For anyone that was on the edge of their seats for the results of Trump's physical today, he "doesn't know anything about his cognitive test except he got everything right," and don't worry, y'all, he's in "very good shape!" He's got a "good heart and a very good soul." He "wanted to be a little different than Biden."

He didn't know if it was the "man, woman, person, camera, tv" test he wasn't sure but whichever one it was "it's a well-known test and he got every question right."

I wish I was kidding with these quotes.

Can't we knock out his trusted doctor, put a real doctor in the makeup tent for a few hours, and THAT guy could give Donnie a physical? I like to imagine Trump seeing the press conference where the doctor (still in disguise) announces, "God as my witness, I didn't think blood could be that thick. They say blood is thicker than water, but holy shit, you guys. Don't bother with plans to get rid of him. Father Time will overthrow him in a matter of weeks."

Under the perma frost that is melting because of the climate change Republicans deny is a lot of natural resources.  I'm guessing his billionaire masters want those natural resources.

It also would be a great place to build those nuclear reactors. And it would have some strategic attack and defense use.

I sw a clip if his cabinet, each one in turn praising him unreasonably. Which they need to for survival, of course. Still it makes hum worse.

Phones and computers are exempt from Trump’s tariffs

What a moron

I read this morning that nobody at the ports have even started collecting the tariffs yet because of a "technical glitch."  Another day, another "glitch."  Lather, rinse, repeat.

I saw the same clip. (Thank you, Seth Meyers. 🙂) Cringe-worthy. These people truly have no shame, to be able to prostrate themselves in submission to this cretin, just to maintain a relatively small amount of power.

Surprisingly, DJT looked bored by it all. His body language screamed, "How much longer do I have to sit and listen to this?" He wasn't even acknowledging their praise, but that's most likely a symptom of his dive into more serious levels of dementia.

If you haven’t been paying attention first he went after lawyers and the judiciary now he’s going after universities

He’s looking into putting Columbia University under a consent decree which would would mean a federal judge would be charged of making sure the university followed the rules Trump forced them to make in exchange for restoring $400 million in grants

This is because Gramps doesn’t like that students protested under Trump’s guise of antisemitic policies ( yeah I bet he really cares about those Jewish kids) and BTW this is a private university and he took even more funding away from Cornell University also a private school

Then there’s the war he’s having with the governor of Maine. There two ( 2 ) trans girls participating in girls sports in Maine. The governor has said she can’t change the state’s rules by EO because of the state’s human rights laws

So what’s Gramp’s solution? He wants to the DOE or what’s left of it to cut off all federal funding for Maine schools

Last week the Agriculture Department froze funding that Maine can use for the school lunch programs and the state sued

A federal judge in Maine issued a preliminary ruling in the state’s favor ordering the USDA to restore the funding ( I don’t know the status of that)

But this is the never ending destruction of our democracy. The dems were right but people didn’t listen didn’t believe them

With Bill Maher fawning over Trump at his White House visit, is it finally time for the rest of the world to realize that Maher is a poseur and more conservative than he’s pretended to be all these years?

I would guess more liberal on certain things, but when it comes to his pocketbook then conservative.

I seriously can’t stand these creeps. Stop trying to tell us you’re not racists and anti semitic while being racist and anti semitic

Crack Secretary of Defense Hegseth has been cleaning house and has had the US Naval Academy library remove Maya Angelou’s “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” and Janet Jacob’s “Memorializing the Holocaust” from it’s shelves

Those insignificant books that are deemed not aligned with DEI guidelines why don’t they just burn them

But in keeping with our real history two copies of Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” remain

I guess we're getting a bit of what so many of you in the US have been dealing with.  I am not speaking to my Maple MAGA sister at the moment and have just found out that two of her children aren't speaking to her either.  We've all given up because she just will not let anything go and every conversation becomes political.

I'm hoping once the election is over and done with things can calm down and get back to normal.  This is the first time I can ever remember where differences of opinion politically has caused so much dissension within the family.  I would have posted this in the Family Ties thread but since it's pretty political I thought it was better placed here.

Yes this is some bullying MO he thinks makes him look like he can control the people
But his axe to grind with Columbia University is more disturbing. He wants the federal government to monitor their compliance of the rules they accepted to have their funding restored

Trump wants to impose a consent decree and have a federal judge enforce any deal he reaches with Columbia. But Columbia would have to agree to accept a consent decree that would impose legal oversight with their compliance of Trump’s agenda

Columbia had voluntarily agreed to Trump’s demands but a consent decree would make the demands legally binding

He’s holding their federal funding as ransom if they don’t agree to the federal oversight

I'm sorry politics are affecting your relationship with your sister. I have 3 nieces & a nephew. Only one has a relationship with me now, thanks to politics. It's really been a family crusher heartache all over America since before Trump entered politics (& that made it even worse!)

Trump really is a menace to society.  How many marriages and friendships and other relationships have been fucked up because of him?  And he isn't content to just bankrupt his own businesses he also wants bankrupt everyone's businesses.  It's like watching a toddler with a loaded gun and not being able to take it away from them.

I can’t wait to see the pretzel he’s going to try to twist his self into when he faces  a deposition for the Central Park Five lawsuit
Gonna be pretty hard to explain why he took out a full page newspaper ad calling for their execution

I think their recent lawsuit against him is over comments he made during the 2024 campaign still claiming that they were guilty and had confessed despite having been exonerated by DNA evidence over 20 years ago, although the 1989 newspaper ads might figure into it somehow.

Per CNN consumer sentiment plunged 11% this month the second lowest reading on record going back to 1952

Americans are rarely this pessimistic

April’s reading was lower than anything seen during The Great Recession (12/2007 thru 6/2009)

Hey, at least his approval ratings are plummeting along with the stock market and consumer sentiment. Silver linings! 😉

The signs are really good lately. I love this one. I don't know if there's ever been such an unimpressive cabinet in our country's history as Trump's. Probably the closest was during his first term (& looking back, those folks were geniuses compared with the current crew).

And so many of them raised an alarm about him
