At what point does Trump get tired of so many people laughing at him? He is not someone that can shrug things off. He is not self deprecating.  He does not have a sense of humor.  All this has got to get to him.

But it doesn't. I read somewhere a while back that his father was very mean to him by being overly critical. Without going into details, after a while he learned to ignore all the 'noise' and prove his father wrong. Apparently it had a lot to do with the person he became.

I didn't think he'd last this long with people paying more attention to Musk than to him.  Which in and of itself is a disturbingly sinister sign.  Trump is not one to share the spotlight.

I said the same thing several pages back. Eventually the honeymoon will wear them both out.

BREAKING: House Republicans just passed their budget resolution 217-215 that would virtually guarantee deep cuts to Medicaid and food stamps, all to fund a major tax break for the ultrawealthy... and still add trillions to the national debt.

I honestly don't understand what the overall point of this administration IS other than making Trump and Co. (even more) obscenely rich.

And this is how we take care of our own before we help other countries?  (Sorry, I don't remember who said we should eliminate foreign aid in favor of helping ourselves, several pages back.)

Massive layoffs that will trickle down from the federal level also isn't helping our own first, either.

He must be in his glory these days, getting to hear himself addressed as sir. What a pathetic excuse for a human being.

Other than enriching himself I really do believe he ran for President to get the respect he never had in private life. But he still doesn't have respect. People fear him. Pity him. Even his MAGA base doesn't respect him.  They have a deluded cultish adoration for him. Not the same as respect.

I guess this is the Trump version of trickle down economics. Cue him now talking about all the people telling him how glad they are to pay more taxes if it helps him.

Oh yeah I'm sure him and his minions will try to gaslight all of us. Saying this is a good thing.

74 million low-income people have Medicaid as their health insurance. 50% of children are covered by either Medicaid or CHIPS, 40% of people with an opioid addiction have Medicaid - this cut would damage so many lives.

And millions of them are in red states and swing states that voted for Trump.  I hope it was worth it to them. Sad thing is so many of them will just shrug their shoulders and say if it helps stopping all the undocumented immigrants from getting then they are cool with it.   You know what happens when people don't have health insurance?  They don't stop getting sick. They either die because they don't see a doctor and/or receive treatment or they go to the ER making them even more crowded than they already are and end up with massive medical bills.   But if the rich get even more tax breaks that's all that matters to Republicans.

Laying off millions of people while cutting the safety net is a recipe for disaster.  Do the Republicans care? Of course not.  And why should they?  With gerrymandering so much of the House has members that are in safely red districts.  In the Senate people like McConnell are retiring and the others count on their constituents being stupid enough to not realize they are responsible for them losing their job and/or insurance.  And they would right.

This morning the democrats that I’ve been following are saying inflation is up, consumer sentiment is down. Medicaid will be destroyed. This is not what the American people voted for

I don’t agree. When asked before the election Trump voters told reporters they don’t like him but they like his policies

So what’s the problem? The rest of didn’t like either but as we’re reminded elections have consequences

I had some faith in the Senate republicans putting a stop to this madness but from what they’ve done so far with confirming the most unqualified and unfit people to run every department I’ve lost all faith in them

If you were to ask most of them now they would most likely say not those policies or they thought all those "others" would be affected.  The lies you tell  yourself when you don't want to admit you have been conned.

And speaking of policies when pressed a lot of Trump voters can't really explain what Trump policies they agree with.  When they said he will end inflation on day one. Or he would end the Ukraine war on day one those aren't policies. Those were wishful thinking at best and lies at worst.  When they say strong border they can't specify what exactly he would do to ensure that.

For all the voters that said the economy was their number one issue I hope they see the error of their ways and vote accordingly in 2026.  If we can still vote that is.

For every Republican Senator who votes to slash Medicaid I hope every single one of them up for reelection in two years has to defend against a loop of ads running non stop highlighting this vote with their opponent saying that Senator did that. And it would be great if they showed testimonies by the very real people that will be harmed by that.

I had no faith at all in Senate Republicans, however, I did have a small amount of faith in House Republicans, specifically Reps. in blue states like NY and California, where certain districts are won or lost by a razor thin margin. All we needed yesterday on the budget vote was one or two more votes. Traditionally, these representatives would be afraid that a "Yes" vote could cost them their seat. They didn't seem to care about that yesterday.

The implications of that are grim.

I think at least some of them are following the old school political game where the newly elected government does all the painful stuff right away and saves the cookies for the election year.   Problem here is (barring armageddon) Trump doesn't care about the next election cycle or the one after that.

Unsurprisingly Trump lied before the election.  But that said anyone actually paying attention should have known he was lying.

While there might have been some voters who truly believed Trump's polices would help with economy.  I get it. They blamed Biden and therefore Kamala Harris for the outrageous prices at the grocery store.  They thought change would change things.  It has not.  The economy wasn't going to improve overnight even if Kamala had won.  However Trump just threatening tariffs has made things worse. Slashing the federal workforce also doesn't help.  It makes it look like our country is in disarray which it is.  Markets like stability and right now things are anything but stable.  But for all those voters who stayed home because reasons I hope you are happy with yourself.  You sure showed the Democrats.

I think they think one of two things are going to happen.  Either Trump fucks things up so epically Republicans lose en masse and they are going to lose next election anyways so they better get the tax breaks while they can or there aren't anymore elections.  Either way they are going to cash out and not worry about it.  That is exactly what Paul Ryan did.

House Republicans are already feeling it, deservedly so. To a point where they're cancelling in-person town hall meetings.

"A number of Republican lawmakers faced significant pushback in their home districts over Trump and Elon Musk's slashing of the federal government."

Unfortunately I don’t think any of them will feel any consequences, Fox News or whatever right wing news source their constituents get their news from will tell them the Republicans aren’t to blame (even though they are) and they will continue to be reelected.   This is why we need a Fairness Doctrine that prevents blatant lies.  I’m sorry for being pessimistic but experience and the recent election has shown that voters are stupid.

Fucking cowards. They can sit around and pass crushing new laws that have the potential to decimate the populations of many of their constituencies but not the courage of their convictions to stand up and say "yeah, I did it. So what?"

We can blame Citizens United for that.  They don't fear the voters anymore. They fear their donors.

People should have learned from his last tour.  Trump lies.  If you believe nothing else, Trump lies.  You can't trust a single thing he says unless he suddenly admitted you can't trust him.

I don't think he lied when he said from CNN-

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Sunday, Donald Trump told a rally full of supporters in Las Vegas, “I don’t care about you, I just want your vote,” while more than twenty of them were treated as medical patients and as six were hospitalized as a result of temperatures of more than 100 degrees.

Unfortunately, the people most effected by Medicaid are also less likely to vote, so they think they can get away with it.

There are a lot of swing districts though. One reason Elise Stefanik hasn't had her confirmation hearing yet is Speaker Johnson and Senate Leader Thune know her seat could be filled with a Dem after a special election.  The Democratic party needs to start recruiting candidates for House seats in 2026 election.  And the Senate as well.  They need to start playing offense.

President Musk hold his first Cabinet meeting. From Forbes Feb. 26, 2025.

In essence, Elon has found a way around the requirement that a POTUS should be a natural born US citizen. It only cost him $290 million.

He goes on a rant about how no non-elected person should have power, and he is there ruling the government of the US. Non-elected, but bought his power. Complaining about government workers being parasites, but he got billions off of the US government for SpaceX.

This is the America they voted for.

A young child has died of measles in Texas. The child was unvaccinated. Measles cases in Texas has reached 125. It an extremely dangerous airborne virus

Today in Trump’s cabinet meeting Bobby Jr said it’s not unusual measles outbreaks happen all the time

Fact. This is the first measles death in the US in 10 years

Senator Bill Cassidy who is physician and voted to confirm this nut said “this is absolutely devastating news” and urged parents to have their children vaccinated

These senators put their careers before the health of our children. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

It won't be the last.  And if things continue we're going to see polio epidemics again.  Happy now, Trump voters and those who sat this election out because...reasons?
