IIRC, Nicole Kidman and the last person (can’t recall whom) both said something implying they had chosen not to read the questions ahead of time, and both were terrible.

Jeff Goldblum was fabulous. But the Questionert is very much in his wheelhouse. Still, I seem to recall he was prepared with answers? No?

Below is Julia Louis-Dreyfus being wonderful at taking The Colbert Questionert. Of course, she and Stephen are comfortable doing a sort of improv here, but she does seem to have prepped a few answers — maybe she just did her homework and watched a few others? — which anyone could choose to do. I wonder if Nicole Kidman regrets having chosen to not see the questions ahead of time. Maybe The Late Show staff got a directive to suggest to Questionert takers that it would be more spontaneous if they avoided watching others doing the Questionert ahead of time? If so, bad idea, IMO.

I'd love to see Brandon Scott Jones take the questionnaire - it was fun to see him on the show last week, I'd love to see what his answers would be to some of those questions.

I just watched last night’s episode, I don’t really approve of Colbert implying that Reagan wouldn’t approve of everything Trump is doing, Reagan was just as bad, he was just more polite about it.

I mean, I liked Reagan for the most part at the time, but he acted very aggressively towards the Soviets and scared them, not too far off how Trump acts aggressively towards other countries, though mostly towards our allies. Of course, then Reagan sat down with the Soviets and made deals. I do think Trump is way worse and pretty stupid

I was young when Reagan was elected, but Reagan is the cause of a lot of the problems we have today.  He substantially cut taxes for the rich while raising taxes on regular people and cutting the social safety net and eliminating the Fairness Doctrine, which is the reason Fox News and other biased right wing media outlets are allowed to exist.

I have maintained on several forums and sites that I think there are people who threaten other people. As in audits, no fly lists, investigations, etc.  Even if the people didn't do anything wrong this all makes their lives miserable and expensive.

I noticed that Evie got a little (what shouldn’t be but apparently now is) political when she expressed sympathy for federal workers. “They were just doing their jobs!”

That surprised me from Evie but we don’t see her that often for me to know how political she is. She even said she knew “we weren’t supposed to be political”. I don’t know if she meant an edict from CBS or just shouldn’t given society right now

Stephen was on fire again last night with his monologue. One of the funniest was his riff on DEI weather. “Snowflakes are girls, tornadoes are boys and sleet is bisexual. Is it rain? Is it snow? It can go both ways.”

The audience wildly cheering when Stephen was talking about the bird flu being in raw milk and then that RFK Jr only drinks raw milk totally threw Stephen. He was clearly not expecting that

LOL, yeah, I had a similar reaction to that as well :p. Talk about coming full circle.

Him not knowing what window or aisle seating was... clearly he's only been on his private jet for the past several decades, but it still surprised me. I like him enough that I didn't think it made him seem snobby, though, which is really something!

I am not disputing any of the things that Americans hate him for, but from an international perspective, he did a lot of good work to take down USSR and end the Cold war. We are lacking the global leaders like him today who would not be afraid to put terrorists like Putin in their place. He must be turning in his grave seeing what Trump did to the Republican reputation by being a bootlicker for Putler and other dictators.

John Oliver was a fun guest last night and in the sketch. The War and Treaty musical performance was fantastic and rightly got a big ovation from the audience

I shouldn't be but I was tickled when Stephen said he was going to lead with a light subject at the beginning of the monologue as a gentle lead in to all the bad stuff happening and it was about the plane crash in Toronto (and somehow he made that funny)

The best part of the monologue last night was Stephen ragging on Elon Musk, especially the delayed prolonged booing of Musk by the audience that threw Stephen a bit, with him joking “that had a tail on it”. Also, Stephen suggesting people respond to Musk’s email with “Your mom” 5 times

Having see actual the press conference just hours earlier, I LOLed and clapped at their spot-on voice over for it. I know a bit of French, but could not interpret what Macron was saying at that time, so my imagination wondered if it was something like what Stephen's crew came up with so quickly!

I also appreciated that they captured Donald getting played by Macron's counter to Don's usual bait-and-switch handshake/arm yank.

Loved seeing Sam Waterston. The Newsroom has been my "background noise" tv show the last few weeks.  Loved the bit about "you know me from...the fever dream when you fell asleep with Law and Order on".

Last night’s show was about 30 minutes late starting because the President’s speech went late. Stephen was on fire with his monologue and so was the audience, but they usually are for these live shows. Stephen’s joke that tickled me most was simply “affordable Denver Omelet”. Pete was a really good, thoughtful guest. I avoided watching Trump’s speech but alas got excerpts via the monologue

I enjoy Meanwhile.  But I always fast-forward the intro to it.  I have no idea why Stephen does that.  Who really enjoys that long rambling intro to it? I think he does it for himself rather than the audience.

The Meanwhile intros are clever plays on words that I would appreciate if they weren't always describing disgusting (to me) imagery. 
Lately I've been wondering if the writers for the Meanwhile intros have been reduced to a single writer + ChatGPT, which, if true, is understandable and not discernable, but still a tiny bit sad.

Not regarding last night's show (haven't seen it yet) but I REALLY wish Stephen would quit with the old, demented Biden jokes.  I guess it's not enough that trump calls him "the worst President in history" but Stephen has to continually mock him.  The man is retired, give it a rest.

I don't know who to thank... Stephen's writers or Stephen himself for his delivery. The last couple of nights, I, too, have laughed right out loud. It's a nice change for Mr Bliss as I've been known to curse/semi-scream at the orange felon lately.

Every morning, I wake up (at least I'm consistent in some ways) and wish I'd had a really bad nightmare... and then I realize, "nope... this is my reality".

Stephen’s monologue was really good and funny last night and the audience was pretty boisterous and produced some major laughs at various points, including Stephen going hard on Elon Musk’s DOGE douchiness. It was so good and funny, I actually watched it twice. It’s hard to point to specific favorites because there were so many, but I would shout out in particular the second Cologuard spot, Stephen’s take on the VA Secretary’s awkward video on cutting jobs and DOGE’s supposed motto “If it ain’t broke, let me try!”, which I think got one of the biggest laughs/cheers, and his riff on DOGE (badly) selling off Federal properties

That was one of my favorites as well. As I said, too many to mention. Stephen just was really on his game last night and he had so much material to feed off of
