Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo

In their latest video, J & J said they were in Dallas doing media stuff and also visiting Justin & Claire, and there was an emergency with Evie.  She was having trouble breathing and they brought her to the ER.  She was given a steroid shot and was then OK.  They assume it was croup, but they don't know for sure.  They're going to test her for asthma because Jeremy had asthma.  Some of Jinger's siblings did as well.  

In a discussion on how old you feel (Jinger will be 31 in a few days but says she feels 20), Jinger mentioned that they are in college ministry and when she listens to college students, she realizes she knows nothing.  But then Jeremy chimed in that it's all superficial stuff like pop culture stuff.

This makes me so sad for Jinger and so ANGRY with JB and Michelle.  Denying education and life skills from your own children, and then bragging about it on national TV, is just shameful.  I'm not up on pop culture, either, but I love history, reading, art, music, and everything that makes life worth living.  As I'm doing my daily crossword I often think how sad it would be if I didn't have the education to know the answers.  (Except pop culture.)

I think it is bogus.  Jinger gave an interview last summer where she talked about having more kids and said she thought it would be great to have twins.  That seemed to morph into some sort of myth that she is actually having or has had them.  There are a couple of obviously fake videos on YouTube claiming that she has given birth to twins.  We know she is not far along enough to have safely given birth to one baby let alone twins.  I think its clickbait.

But like, she's an adult who could just...go to college now, right? I mean, there's nothing stopping her from taking one or more community college classes if she actually wanted to learn something.

Sure, it's sad that she doesn't know more than the average college student right now, but the solution to that is staring her in the face and it makes me sadder that she won't do it.

And truthfully she doesn't even have to enroll in a class to learn. You can learn every day of your life if you read. As to quote George R. R. Martin,

"A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one."

I went to college after a divorce when I had 2 small children.  Ex kept telling me I wouldn't make it through registration.  Back then it was with key punch cards. I considered myself well read. College classes with other people added another dimension that I never realized was important. So I would love for Jinger to start with maybe one on campus in person  class with all kinds of people and views.

Oh I don't doubt it would do her good. I was more commenting on her attitude of bemoaning it but apparently doing nothing about it. If she's truly uncomfortable with her base of knowledge (which is completely fair given the way she was raised), there are ways to combat that. She can sign up for classes, she can read books, she can watch documentaries, she can visit museums, etc. Nobody can help the bubble they were raised in--and hers is smaller than most--but deciding to stay there is on her. 

I am also probably being snarkier about this than I would be because these are the same people who made a big show about posing with classic books and blathering about how much they love them. Well read the damn books too and don't just pose with them. LOL

I also hope this means she encourages her girls to learn and value education. I almost posted that in my original comments, but her making an effort to broaden her horizons, whether it's through classes or reading or visiting museums, is modeling being a lifelong learner to them too. And that's just as important for them as it is her.

Exactly.  Modeling behavior for the kids is the best way for them to understand its importance.  My parents were blue collar, my dad graduated high school, my mom dropped out after her sophomore year.  But they were both readers.  They subscribed to 2 daily papers (this was the 60's, it was common) and both read them faithfully every day.  They read the comics to us until we got to school and learned to read them ourselves.  My sister used to fight over who got to read them first; my dad decided I could read them in the AM paper, my sister in the PM.  My mom would point out interesting articles, usually with lots of photos in them, to us and read them with us.  I still remember sitting on my mother's lap at age 6 as she read an article about JFK's funeral and showed me a bunch of photos from the paper back in 1963.

Jinger's birthday video.  This is the day where they took the photos of the nine sisters.  I'm impressed that Stephen was in the kitchen helping the ladies chop vegetables for the meal.  Jana might have a keeper.

Felicity's hair has gotten so dark; she definitely stands out amongst her cousins. It's very pretty. On a whole, not even seeing their faces, J&J's girls just look so much more put together than their cousins, lol (other than John's two cutie pies)

Jinger put out a new podcast video today where she and Jeremy talk about various things, i.e. her birthday celebration, Jinger getting more into clean and healthy living, and her upcoming book, People Pleaser, which will be released in two weeks.  Jeremy said she will appear on Entertainment Tonight, Tamron Hall, CBS Mornings show, and various podcasts.

OMG, how many times did she say “it’s fun, so fun”? I only watched the first 3rd of the video and the count must’ve been up to 47.

I think they just decided that she should strike while the iron is hot. A lot of interest in these girls coming out with some truth about the family. I don’t think it’s weird or a problem if she makes money. I just still don’t know what he’s doing. Is he still in school? They always talk about him “ working”. 

Not a good luck for Jinger with that pulled back hair. She’s got a very high hairline.

She definitely needs a better vocabulary when she’s talking with Jeremy. Everything is either fun, sweet, or amazing. Sweet is the one that bugs me.

She did one of those end of the year super fast flashing pictures. I think in at least two of them we see Felicity‘s face. She looks exactly the same as I remember her as a baby – mostly just like her mother.
