The Golden Bachelor - General Discussion

Leslie's repetitiveness makes me think she'll be a golden bachelorette, if they have one. I mean, why else are they giving her so much time to rehash how betrayed she felt?

Also:  In the midst of consoling Leslie in her suite that night, he said if he had known he'd be hurting her, he wouldn't have "started this journey".  Is it just me, or did that sound a bit--inauthentic?

No offense, but I don't want Leslie to be the Golden Bachelorette (even though she's probably the odds-on favorite).

I don't want the Golden Bachelorette to be insecure and all "I want someone to love meeeeeeee", we get enough of that with the younger crowd. I want a confident woman who is very self-aware of what this "journey" is and who is open to finding love and have fun but it not being the be-all to end-all.

Much respect to Theresa who was just like: if it's not me, I'll be happy for you.

Would she have been sad? Sure, because her feelings were involved. But she wouldn't have been a petty mess, and I give her props for that. For goodness sakes, they've only known Gerry for a month!

I'm just saying, there's a reason why Leslie has been divorced twice. She clearly married the wrong men for her, and it was likely out of a desperation to be loved. She's a catch, but she needs to get herself right emotionally.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for Susan, Ellen, Sandra or Nancy to be GB.

Why bring out Gerry to talk again to Leslie?  Oh, right---ratings.

"Shocking ending"? Either Treesa turns Gerry down, or Gerry returns to Leslie.

Nothing else would shock me. Well, if Gerry chose neither, then yes, that would be a finger in a light socket moment.

2 minutes ago, Armchair Critic said:

What do you think the shocking ending is? Will they get married right on the spot?

I mean Leslie did keep talking about “writing her vows.” It did seem like she thought they literally get married on the show. Gerry did say “till death do us part” so maybe he did convince her (and presumably Theresa) that they should get married on the spot instead of just stopping with a proposal and a rose.

There you go: Similar histories**. He knew almost immediately, and all Treesa needed to do henceforth was not be weird.

That "calming hand" in the convertible loomed Gargantuan.

**"[Treesa] knew how to nurture a relationship" = Some masterful Leslie shade!

After reading the Hollywood reporter article, I just don’t understand how he can defend his words about not having any relationship, or practically any contact with a woman since his wife died. Especially since it’s so easy to prove if he was involved with someone, and it seems like it’s sort of has been proved or am  I missing something?
