Cosmocrush September 6 Share September 6 Amber gets offended when Gary suggests she needs to reach out to them once in a while instead of waiting for an invitation. When Gary reminded her that Cristina has texted her Amber tells him she's, "Not going to reply to Christina." She doesn't seem to understand that Christina IS the woman who is raising her daughter and that giving birth doesn't make you a parent. I honestly think Amber believes Leah should be contacting her!!!?!! Her zero to sixty temper was crazy. I thought she had a handle on that with therapy and meds. The lesson of this whole Next Chapter iteration seems to be to choose the father of your child/children carefully. Brianna and Cheyanne I'm looking at you. 5 2 Link to comment
Andyourlittledog2 September 6 Share September 6 (edited) Amber doesn't see Leah as a fifteen year old girl with emotions and trauma and a life with her father and Kristina. She sees her as her property that she has 'rights' to and how dare anyone suggest that Leah have any agency in whether she sees her or not. She has a right to Leah, Leah be damned! I was watching Gary 2.0's face during this conversation and wondered if this was the moment that he determined he needed to get out of this relationship. TV exposure isn't worth tying yourself to this crazy woman with the faulty thinking and hair trigger temper. I know it's not popular here but I like Ashley. Her choices are not mine and her lifestyle is not what I would choose but she is likeable and fun and a very good mother and has a goal for her life that she is working very hard to realize in school. She is doing more and being more than most of these other so-called teen moms are and I admire that. I loved it when Tea said Ashley wouldn't have a hot girl summer, she was more of a medium now and Ashley just smiled and said 'yeah'. The interlude with Leah and the girls and her father was sweet and refreshing. I hope her dad makes it, he seems like a great guy when he's not using. I cannot believe Cheyenne's dad is considering making Zach the keeper of his legacy business. Zach doesn't seem like a reliable person to me - his face alone when they were discussing this at lunch would have made me reconsider trusting him with anything. I see Zach as someone who married Chey and likes the lazy life of leaning on his wife and the TM money and running a business that is an actual day to day responsibility is not on his wish list. And I think Chey knows this and is desperately hoping he steps up. She didn't look sure of him even while she was talking it up. Wishful thinking and hoping she hasn't married the dud she probably has. I was so relieved not to have Mackenzie's kindergarten teacher talk and Maci's boring segments this week. Amber's meltdown and Gary 2.0's exit stage left looks promising next week. Season finale time!! Edited September 6 by Andyourlittledog2 9 1 Link to comment

I give her some credit because she seems to be continuing her education. Unlike some of the other girls, she will have a useful career when this show ends. Other than that completely over her. I've also never been a fan of her mother either. I guess when none of the other girls want to film with you at all, you don't get as much air time. Funny how that works. Can't get along with any of your coworkers, don't work as much. Once again Amber is facing consequences for her actions, and of course it's not her fault. It's Gary's. Well, og Gary's fault. I'm shocked. This is my shocked face. I hope Devoin maintains a relationship with the girls. Despite Brianna's opinion, it's completely possible to still be in their lives. There are phones, emails and planes, as long as he is willing to take some initiative. And if a change of scenery will help with his addiction issues, it might be worth getting away. Same! I was horrified at the idea of turning a very successful business, especially one he started and grew and fed his family over to a shiftless guy like Zach. I get wanting to help his son-in-law step up and support his daughter and grandkids but this seems extremely risky. When Cheyenne's Dad mentioned their "expensive lifestyle" there was zero mention of possibly cutting back by either Zach or Cheyenne. I am amazed at her father's patience with this guy. Andyourlittledog2 September 13 Share September 13 I've never seen Amber look so pitiable. She's still horrible, but I hurt for her last night. MTV needs to get her off tv. And they know it. Using her instability and mental problems as storylines for ratings in unconscionable. I'm glad Maci was able to go to her and help her get home. Cate and Tyler are ridiculous. They gave up Carly for adoption, not for long-term babysitting. They are responsible for Nova's heartbreak and anger because they made her believe that Carly was just her older sister living at away camp/school and not in a completely different permanent family. Cate was messaging Teresa incessantly with pictures and telling her to let Carly know what they were doing today! Etc etc etc. It's crazy how much access and exposure they think Brandon and Teresa are required to give them to a child they adopted. They are her parents and have a completely different lifestyle than C&T. And Cate and Tyler are on national tv obsessing over Carly and complaining they can't see Carly and it's time to do xyz with Nova but they wanted to do it with Carly... Once Nova and the other Not-Carlys figure out how their parents are obsessed with the only child that seems to really matter to them they are going to have problems. And they are so self-righteous and self-serving in their complaints. Honestly I think open adoption has been a serious mistake from the beginning. I understand that adoption is hard and the natural inclination is to want to keep tabs on your child but how are the adoptive parents and that child supposed to get on with their own lives when two ignorant self-involved prior teenagers keep inserting themselves into their lives? And they keeps saying that it's all for Carly, so Carly will see how hard they tried to stay connected etc. Giving Carly space and letting her live her life with the only real parents she has ever known doesn't even compute for them. Let's see: Cate gets so depressed she has to go to mental health inpatient (I know it's more like a spa thanks to MTV money) and pimps out Tyler on OnlyFans. Neither has a real job. The grandparents are alcoholics and addicts. No one that I've seen on their side has gotten further in life than they were in high school. I don't know what Tyler's mom's story is but she has been pretty hands off all along so there's some reason for that. Carly is lucky she has the opportunity for another life trajectory. I'd like to see MTV stop providing this national tv spotlight for C&T's harassment of Carly and her adoptive parents. It's time to stop this now. Let whatever happens happen out of the tv spotlight. Ashley's segment was confusing. I saw the police report and things were not described in the police report as Ashley described them on tv last night. She made it sound like the only reason she was scared was the police suddenly being outside with guns. She didn't sound relived or grateful, she sounded like it was hardly a problem. In the police report she was clearly kidnapped and held hostage and threatened by Bar and was terrified in the moment of Bar, not the cops. Bar's charges reflect the police report, not what Ashley described last night. Yet she didn't seem to have any problem with the charges. It's kind of confusing. 3 1 2 1 2 Link to comment

Yes, but her talking head in the episode is what I was referring to. She seemed to downplay how bad it was and attribute all of her terror to the police showing up with guns as a result of her mom's 911 call. It doesn't jibe with what was reported to police and the charges made against Bar. 4 Link to comment
TooMuchRealityTV September 14 Share September 14 It's time for Amber (and Leah and Gary) to end their Teen Mom run. Amber is unstable. I can't imagine what Leah must feel seeing her Mom breaking down over a man she hasn't known long, when she's completely cool with not seeing her minor child for long stretches of time. If she had that kind of breakdown over Leah or James I could begin to feel something for her. I don't think C&T's kids (and by kids I mean the ones they are actually parenting) needed to know about Carly until they were older. C&T don't get that being a birth parent is not actually the same as parenting. So of course Nova would think Carly is her sister and she should be able to see her when she wants. I don't entirely get what happened with Ashley. Her take on it doesn't sound like she was in any danger from Bar. It must have been more serious than she is letting on, because Bar seems to be facing several charges. Why would the prosecutor bother doing that if he had no case? I hope, for her sake, it wasn't as bad as her Mom made it sound. At some point Bar will get out, and if he is as bad as Mom believes he shouldn't be anywhere near Ashley or Holly again. 8 Link to comment

Hedgehog2022 September 14 Share September 14 This was disturbing to watch on so many levels...Amber is a mess. First of all...she puts herself out there on dating sites looking for hook ups or a husband...not sure which it is but still...why not use your abundance of free time and $$ to go back to school and LEARN something that can help you get a job or have some sort of career? Start with a community college. Sitting around the house all day is definitely not a life plan. Or how about going outside, putting on gardening gloves and do some lawn work and clean up of the overgrowth of weeds and tree branches! It looked Grey Gardens the other night. Why is she so easy to manuipulate? This guy she was "engaged" to was obviously a little dysfunctional. Running away was weird and concerning. But getting engaged to Amber without doing your homework on her past issues with ex fiancees is on him. Amber should be let go from the show. She needs to get herself together and frankly, this show is not healthy for her or Leah. I guess Maci's new job is to babysit Amber. Cate and Tyler are delusional and obnoxious. Yes, they have an open adoption but that doesn't mean that can demand to see Carlie. They do not have open access to Carlie and any kind of vistation is at Brandon and Teresa's discretion. I really can't stand Cate and Tyler....they are so entitled and spoiled. I'm sick of seeing them with their ugly tattoos and lazy ass life. Perhaps if they had jobs or a career they wouldn't be obsessing about Carlie all the time and harassing Brandon and Teresa online and elsewhere and trashing them on MTV. I really hope that B &T get a restraining order on them...enough is enough. And not to sound rude or catty but Cate really could use her spare time to get healthy and lose some weight. She's morbidly obese and her weight is going to present a lot of health issues and problems as she ages. Lord knows she has ample free time to go to a physician and a trainer. As for Ashley...remember when she and Bar ran off and got married and how beligerant and arrogant she was about it? Sorry...I don't feel sorry for her...she knew what this guy was all about. I do feel sorry for Holly...she's a sweet girl who has been through some trauma. She loves her Dad so this whole incident has probably been hard on her...along with all his incarcerations. 7 Link to comment

I 100% think Bar is capable of really hurting Ashley. He is a genuine thug. He got into a fist fight with her sister! He plays with guns. He obviously struggles with anger and impulse control. And she has a lot of nerve stirring up Bar purposely on social media and then having to have the cops called for a domestic call (when her mom says he has guns) and being afraid of the cops more than Bar. Domestic calls are super dangerous for the police. I used to think she generally had it more together than these other young women but maybe not. I actually feel bad for Cait and Tyler and I really don’t like them. lol. But they could be a whole lot worse as birth parents than they are. They seem to at least provide for their kids and love them. It seems like Brandon and Theresa don’t show much gratitude towards their decision to pick THEM to adopt Carly, which allowed Carly the life she has. They also were down with the whole process being shown on reality TV early on and exposing their daughter to all that attention. Amber is just clueless and not at all sympathetic. 1 Link to comment
snarts September 15 Share September 15 Ashley seemingly gets off on the drama, she's so contentious with everyone. That said, I don't think she realizes how dangerous Bar is. I just feel bad for Holly, as I suspect Ashley will always cause chaos with her relationshps. Watching Jace & Jenelle is sad. She acts like all the shit he went through somehow wasn't her fault. Poor Kaiser too. Oh, and a Range Rover? That's practical. Unless Amber dedicates herself to some intensive therapy she's never going to have a healthy relationship. She really needs to get off the dating apps and buy a vibrator. Cate & Tyler were sold a story by the adoption agency. Brandon & Teresa were likely so desperate for a child that they'd agree to anything. No one suspected that the publicity around this would continue for 15 years. There is fault on both sides but I blame Dawn and that Bethany Christian Services agency the most for setting & perpetuating the wrong expectations. I feel the most sorry for Carly trying to navigate this and for Novalee and the other kids for growing up with this constant reminder about a sister they can't see. 5 1 Link to comment

I wonder if Carly is the one wanting space. I can imagine Tyler, esp, is too damn intense and that can be off-putting. And constantly calling Carly the “sister” to the other girls puts pressure on ALL of them to have this sibling relationship they cannot really have because they don’t really have a relationship except maybe like cousins you see once a year at the family Christmas party. Quit trying to make it something it isn’t but that you wish it was. I wonder if they just chilled if Brandon and Theresa would give in a little. 5 1 Link to comment
mrs ra September 15 Share September 15 I think it’s bad that Cate and Tyler have not fully explained to Nova that Carly has a completely new family with new parents that are raising her as they want. They need to explain to Carly that it is not a “fairness” issue, but is instead their right as her parents. They have three little girls that are basically being ignored, while they obsess and complain about the fact that they cannot see this other child. They will pay the price in later years when the three figure it out and are resentful. 5 Link to comment
Andyourlittledog2 September 15 Share September 15 I posted a link to details on Tyler's and Cate's crazy social media posts on the Cate and Tyler thread. There are several other articles regarding this situation on the site. Carly is a fifteen year old girl, working her way through hormones, high school, new independence, figuring out who she is and how she relates to other people, what she wants to be when she grows up, etc etc. It's a hard time, lots of emotions and upheaval. What a perfect time for Cate and Tyler to try to blow up her world by inserting their brand of crazy into it. If they actually loved and cared for this child they would check themselves, but all they can see is themselves and what they want. They are so incredibly selfish. 3 2 Link to comment
politichick September 19 Share September 19 I think Gary 2.0 left his phone behind on purpose and got a new phone/number because he doesn't want anything at all to do with that crazy woman, no photos, or any way for her to get in touch with him. Gary 2.0's family to the rescue and for the win for googling her. And for her to say that Leah has no choice about whether or not she has to see her is also nuts. Does she not know that in a court of law that the judge would give her the choice, especially given their history? I don't think Cheyenne's father is stupid enough to hand over his entire business over to Zach. He will be watching closely because even if he's retired, that business is still an important chunk of his income. Macy--clean your house! Caitlyn and Tyler suck. I suspect that Carly is the one who doesn't want to see those two trash bags. Can't imagine that B&T wouldn't arrange some limited-terms, off-camera visit if she really wanted it. What a crazy show! 4 1 Link to comment

Polliwollidoodle September 20 Share September 20 So many great comments. Where to start? I have always felt really sorry for Cait and Tyler because they really had such horrible childhoods and had zilch in the role model or support department. I am kind of surprised that they have lasted this long together. I get annoyed with all the Teen Mom cast who mostly just sit around and discuss their lives, ( and only use paper plates and take out food )....but with Ty and Cait, I can "almost" excuse them given their poor start, and in a way I marvel that they've done as well as they have. I think Christina is a saint, and Gary is a wonderful father. Amber is really truly a mess and very mentally ill and should not be on the show. I may have missed some of the episodes and even a season or two so I'm not totally "up" on everyone but in general Amber needs to go, and is it Mckenzie who may be doing ok but is wanting to have ANOTHER child when she has so many medical issues? This is unsettling. 3 Link to comment

I have to disagree with you...I remember their meetings with Dawn before and after Carlie was born. She did go over in detail the expectations and guidelines for an open adoption. She was overly nice and never spoke down to them once...she often times had to talk both of them off a cliff when they went rogue and were demanding that Brandon and Teresa give them more time with Carlie. She also had to explain to them for the billionth time what an open adoption is and to abide by the legal agreement as set forth before Carlie's birth. C&T would calm down and obey the rules for awhile then they would do something stupid like put up photos of Carlie on Instagram or complain about Brandon and Teresa on other social media sites. Again...Dawn would have to step in explain shit all over again to these two. In their minds C&T feel like they should have open access to Carlie because she's their bio daughter. They feel very entitled and their obsession with Carlie and the belittling of Brandon and Teresa on social media as monsters that are keeping their "daughter" from them is detrimental to not only Carlie but to the two people who have given Carlie a great life as well as loved her unconditionally. C&T don't seem to understand legal issues that they signed off on when Carlie was born...they can't litigate this stuff anymore. Get over it and take care of the bio kids you have now. When Carlie is 18 she can decide whether she wants to visit them or see them at all. There is no need to badmouth Carlie's adopted parents who have tried to give her a good life that both C&T knew would not possible at the time when she was conceived. Be a little thankful for that instead of acting like spoiled brats with huge entitlement attitudes. 6 1 1 Link to comment
politichick September 20 Share September 20 Not really an Ashley fan, but I did really like how she interacts with her little girl. Keeps it real with kindness. Bad taste in men, like what the actual fuck was she thinking about when she hooked up with Bar, but does a great job with Holly and is working to build up the child's confidence and critical thinking skills. Jade is a good mom, too. And on a superficial note, the bangs she gave Khloie (WTF) were adorable. Hope her man gets his life together. And glad she's doing both the salon and real estate, but seems to be having some early real estate success. She will use her emotionally impoverished life for good. She's a hard worker. Would like another season just to see her smile a genuine smile. Not much of a Mackenzie fan, and am unsure about the effects of this IVF journey, but the guy seems nice, he has BA and MA degrees and is a high school and otherwise soccer coach, so he can provide for a family and encourage her kids to get educated, so good for her. Hope her gym succeeds. Brittany is getting married this weekend and I wish her well. What does she do for work? And I hope Roxanne gets it together. Stella is reasonably cheerful, but Nova, not so much. Sad. Hope Devon/oin gets it together, too. Is Briana living in a rental while her mum lives in the house she bought and paid for? Maci, clean your house. Bentley is a sweet child, but a serious hillbilly, lol. I'm a city mouse, and am not saying that in a mean way even though it may seem so. Her baby daddy daddy's apology was sweet. Cait and Tyler: get your lives in order. She really needs to go on a diet and does she ever actually cook? Hope the middle child will be okay. Glad they made the comfort corner, but what does her discomfort in certain loud situations have to do with her verbal delay? They also need to have a serious chat with Nova about how adoption works. She was, like, we need to bring Carly here. It doesn't work like that, sweetie. And OF as Zach--freeloader. As I said above, seriously doubt the girls's dad is going to give total control of his high-end Kinkos to that fool. If he does and it all goes bad, he'll deserve it for trusting a multiple DUI felony guy. When I'm assuming was the scene when they were sending him off to meet the dad for intro to high end Kinkos 101, he could have at least worn a nice shirt and slacks. 2 1 Link to comment

I don't see how anyone could actually watch the 16 and Pregnant and think Dawn was not crystal clear and realistic with the two kids. Furthermore, watching S1 and S2 of Teen Mom, Tyler and Cate had a much different attitude towards Carly and the adoption. During the 3rd season, they started to get a lot of attention from fans and then the revisionist history started. Bethany Christian Services has been heavily criticized, and maybe deservedly so, but there is 0 evidence Dawn specifically did anything wrong, and there IS evidence she was very honest with them about Cate and Tyler did hear it and absorb it, and acknowledge it. I've also watched from the beginning and I distinctly remember her nagging them to get some scrapbook ready to send because a birthday or holiday was approaching. Mail had to go through her in the beginning, so she was probably letting the lazy duo know that if they wanted Carly's gifts/letters/scrapbooks to get to Carly in time for birthdays or holidays, they had a deadline. Also, a couple times in the series, Tyler and Cate would want to request certain things of B&T, and Dawn would encourage them to write it in a letter instead of calling them, because that would be less of putting B&T on the spot.
